If I understand this correctly in your scenario when you play Linvala the life gain ETB won't even trigger and I believe that because the life gain is written first you can't choose which order the abilities trigger. I could be entirely wrong on the last part however.
So I couldn't help but notice that if you can play obzedat, ghost council before this guy then your opponent would have a very hard time killing obzedat, assuming that your opponent is tapped out or has no instant speed removal and couldn't kill obzedat or this guy when you played them. Also assuming that they want to kill this guy first, I guess.
I've been trying to use this in various decks to include dredge (also using Memory's Journey) and I'm just wondering if anybody knows of a good shell that this could go into. I'm even trying it in Bant because we all know how long those games can go.
Oh and in case someone isn't seeing it it works best when you're out of cards in your deck and keep using Serene Remembrance so that the only 4 cards in your deck are 3 Bonfire of the Damned and 1 Serene Remembrance. Effectevly you can Miracle Bonfire 3 out of every 4 turns
This is a build of the deck that I made, though while i'm typing this i'm noticing some potential problems with the deck but hey. in this deck there are 3 different locks (2 hard, 1 soft.)
how about Isochron Scepter & silence or angel's grace? doesn't really seem like many if any decks are prepared to play only at instant speed...although this does get only worse with any tax affects in the deck or chalice of the void at 1
yea i'm wondering if the one about extractor demon and Mystifying Maze is correct....i know the maze creates a replacement affect but what about the 2nd part of unearth? Exile it at the beginning of the next end step or if it would leave the battlefield...wouldn't that trigger from the maze trying to exile it?

my opponent counters one my spells with counterlash, what happens if in response i cast Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir in response to the counterlash? does the counterlash circumvent the Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir's timing restriction?
