    What are Ponza's main problems? I live in a VERY small Magic Community with Tournaments of no more than 6 people. I've had to go up against MUC, Tooth and Nail, Mono-Black Death Cloud/Control, U/G Control and White Weenie. I reallly don't know Ponza's weaknesses against any other decks.

    Creatures:
    4x Arc-Slogger
    4x Slith Firewalker
    2x Kumano
    2x Zo-Zu, The Punisher
    2x Hearth Kami

    Other:
    4x Molten Rain
    4x Stone Rain
    4x Magma Jet
    4x Seething Song
    3x Pulse of the Forge
    3x Pyroclasm
    2x Demolish

    Lands/Mana:
    17x Mountain
    3x Chrome Mox
    2x Blinkmoth Nexus

    Sideboard (So far):
    3x Sowing Salt
    3x Defense Grid
    3x Shatter
    3x Volcanic Hammer
    2x Culling Scales
    1x Zo-Zu (An Odd-Ball 1 in the SB, but I don't know what else to add?)

    ~~~~~~~
    Is it a solid decklist for Regionals? What about the SB? Any help is appreciated.
    I never said Suicide was Viable, I said UNLESS you were in a janky metagame, then MBC is dead. Janky only, even then it can give you problems
    MBC is viable, check this:
    6 swamp
    4 a-tomb
    4 m-factory
    4 waste
    2 delta
    1 strip
    1 academy
    1 library
    8 artifact mana
    1 v-tutor
    1 d-tutor
    1 m-twist
    1 trisphere
    2 braids
    3 chains
    4 duress
    4 void
    4 crucible
    4 chalice
    4 resistor
    It plays like a stax deck with 5 trinispheres in the form of nether void, and better hand denial. ancient tombs and moxes is good enough acceleration.
    *smack* Okay I'll be the first to do it.
    Your saying MBC is viable? *buzzer* Wrong, MBC isn't viable because it lacks so many stuff. Decent card drawing (Other than Necro, Skeletal and Night's Whisper) It can't counter, and No artifact and enchantment removal.
    Mono-Black is dead. I have been running Suicide for almost a year, and unless your in a janky metagame MBC is Dead.
    I have recently played against a Proxied Gorger (Budgetish) and had 5 wins and 0 losses.
    I finally got an ITL Chains of Mephistopheles yet I haven't played Psychatog except for in a multiplayer match. From what I've seen though, Chains is a beast.
    What are some other creature considerations if I decide to keep this mono-black? Pretty soon there will be Type 1 "Sligh/Burn" The owner may not know how to run the deck, but all that burn will keep my Negator off the field, so an alternative will be needed.
    I need to post my new build, off the top of my head I don't know it since I haven't messed with it. Once I get it I will edit this post and put it here.
    Well i threw together my long awaited Ponza deck and it looks a little something like this:
    Magma Jet x3
    Zo-Zu x2
    Kumano x2
    Arc-Slogger x4
    Slith Firewalker x4
    Chrome Mox x2
    Stone Rain x4
    Demolish x4
    Molten Rain x4
    Seething Song x4
    Desperate Ritual x4
    Pyroclasm x3
    Mountain x20
    Sideboard (not finished):
    Zo-Zu
    Shrapnel Blast x2
    Boil x3
    Flashfire x2
    Sideswipe x3
    Grab The Reins x2
    LMK comments/suggestions. Thanks.
    Ouch man, Desperate Ritual, Chrome Moxes and Seething Songs on top of 20 mountains? That's WAY to much mana sources. Drop the desperate rituals and add in 3 pulse and 1 pyroclasm.
    Phyrexian Negator is, indeed, a conundrum. The scrubbier the metagame, the worse this card is, even in a good deck.
    Powered environments don't typically play as much aggro, instead aiming for more combo or controllish decks. These decks can have major problems with plays like "Swamp, Ritual, Negator" getting shoved down their throats turn 1 unless they have FoW.
    The problem is that aggro-heavy metas such as yours can answer your Swamp/Ritual/Negator with silly things like Mountain/Lightning Bolt, which effectively gives them a 3-for-1 deal. 3-for-1 deals on the first turn win games.
    In your particular meta, Negator becomes terrible when there's a 6/6 Ravager on the other side of the table. Heck, even an Arrogant Wurm or Wild Mongrel starts looking imposing after turn 2 or 3.
    Well the Negator is still there because I haven't had a problem with it's downside. And I don't think Ravager will be a problem because the owner is taking it apart, Well actually he TOOK it apart.
    I put this in Casual since no one takes Suicide seriously
    I know, I know. Suicide is dead, but it's still my favorite Arche Type. I've been running the same build for almost a year and decided to change it.
    First off, my metagame consists of:
    Budget Psychatog(A Decent Build)
    Parfait
    There could be a Ravager deck, and a Madness soon
    Type Two Decks
    After much thought, I decided to attempt the inclusion of Chains of Mephistopheles and Crucible of Worlds I found that while Hypnotic Specter is good in Old Sui it is simple to slow for a new version of it. Since Suicide simply couldn't keep up with newer decks, it must become faster OR be able to control the board. Also, Null Rod in the mainboard? How would that work out?
    -2x Masticore
    +2 Chains of Mephistopheles
    -2x Powder Keg
    +2x Crucible of Worlds
    But I lose a good mass removal with the cutting of Powder Keg . Frown
    How about instead of cutting 2 Powder Kegs for Crucible:
    -1x Mind Twist While this card is great rarely do I muster up enough mana to do enough damage
    -1x Diabolic Edict
    +2x Crucible of Worlds
    With the addition of Crucible of Worlds and still having Yawgmoth's Will maindecked, Planar Void only hurts now so I should switch them with Withered Wretch correct? If I do include him, should I switch him to the Mainboard? a 2/2 for BB is nice aswell. It would only help against Psychatog and Madness (Against Wonder and Roars) Again, if I do add him in the maindeck, how much should I add and what to take out?
    Everyone argues that the random discard caused by Hymn is great for decks such as Welder, but I have insane luck with a die when it comes to Hymn to tourach and rarely give the other deck a great opportunity, so I don't know if dropping Hymns would help me.
    Also everyone tends to agree that Sinkholes are useless thanks to the fetchlands and Crucible of Worlds but in a metagame such as mine it really isn't useless seeing how I am the only one that has Crucible and Psychatog is the only deck that uses Fetches.
    So the deck is looking like this:
    Well, so far the deck hasn't changed much.
    What about a BG Build? I have been thinking about it, for Pernicious Deed and with that comes Regrowth.
    Or even WB for Exalted, StPs etc.
    Well, Class is about to end so I have to go, thanks for all the help I recieve. I still need help with the build, so help please! Thanks.
    I have yet to play WW, Is it a favorable matchup for Ponza aslong as I have Clasm and Culling? I could of played them for the past 3 tournaments but we weren't paied against each other.
    I dont have any pyroclasm's but i guess that should be something i should add to my sideboard.
    Run them in mainboard, it helps against matchups that your slith just can't seem to get through. Same with slogger and etc. It also helps to get rid of big creatures when combined with Magma Jet.
    What about Memory Jar? Could that possibly be a nice addition to this deck? I like your second build more than the other. Yes you do need to up the count of Intuitions, 3 at most IMO.
    Does 2 Kokushos in the main board help? My friend MD them but saw after ravager was banned that there was no need as they only truly helped in certain situations. He switched them with Sundering Titans and his build seems to be running better.
