Was playing an eight man EDH free for all, four of us, including myself, chose Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind as our General. We also had a guy with a Megrim down that was casting Wheel of Fortunes, causing tons of damage to be thrown around in every direction. I finally got every other player dead, and my last opponent down to two, when I popped him with a Price of Progress; he had one non basic in play. Justice.
I think it's something to do with your local versus FNM in general. At our store, there are several guys that want to do heavy trading and want to play EDH, sometimes it's difficult to get them to focus on the draft :p. We don't really have any cheaters, but then again we are more laid back than most other stores (the very competitive Standard crowd tends to go to the other lgs).
As far as YuGi players, we have none as we don't sell it, but I know that some stores do cater to that crowd, and I think finding people that play that game isn't that odd.
My suggestion is to try and see if there are any other FNM spots in your area, and try a night or so in those spots to see if it is better. I think you'll find way more enjoyment if you can find a crowd that is more similar in playstyle than you.
He probably has the expansions, because if I recall the game wouldn't have even had those cards in the files if he didn't.
That game is great, but it was buggy as all heck. Three hard drives ago I had all the information to edit pc decklists so as to make the game more challenging, but it turned out that some of the cards that were included in the files caused the game to crash, perhaps Power Artifact was one of them (Kobolds caused it to crash, so maybe the game just couldn't handle odd effects like reduction in cost or red cards with no red in their cost).
Was going to get up and get in line to buy this, as my local sells for MSRP, but then my car died. Now i get to spend twice what the FtV would have cost to buy a new battery. FML.
Edit: talked to the shop owner and apparently my plan would have worked.
If you have Instants or abilities that can work at instant speed with Red mana, I recommend Braid of Fire. I got it up to six once with Obsidian Fireheart on the field, that was bonkers :).
1) Be 15 minutes early. This shows them that you care and that you do want the job.
2) Be well groomed. Get a haircut shortly beforehand. Wear a dress shirt, dress slacks (pressed/ironed) and a tie. Do not wear a clip on tie, wear a real tie. Wear a watch (interviewers for whatever reason take you more seriously if you have a nice looking watch).
3) When you meet the interviewer, give them a firm handshake.
4) Try to be as calm as you can. Similar to giving speeches, avoid saying things like "uh" too much during the interview.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head, besides obvious things like getting good sleep and whatnot. Good luck, I hope you get it!
To expand on Mondu's statement: Any version of any card in any language is acceptable so long as that card is legal in it's format. So if someone wanted to, they could use German 4th edition Merfolk of the Pearl Trident at a Standard event and be ok.
If you ever want to know the correct wording for a card, you always have the right to ask for a Judge's assistance.
Sene, I understand where you are coming from. Anybody that has been dealing with this much stress over a volunteer admin position has got to burn out. I truly hope that you can find your spark again. You have been instrumental in bringing forth several positive changes around here (frankly, so have the people that have come under the heaviest fire). I have a deep respect for you.
And that is respect that I had for you from before I was a moderator. Since I've been able to see the positive changes you've made from behind the lines, I'm even more impressed. Thank you for your hard work.

Sending SMS on any sort of scale usually costs money. That said, if you're in the US, your cell phone provider usually has an email address that will forward emails sent to it to your phone as texts--that might be a decent workaround.
This works, for example, my phone company uses (phonenumber)@txt.att.net. You would then get all emails in text form, but unfortunately it wouldnt convert them to regular text format, you would get the enture email. As far as plain text alerts, that might be something to ask Ria about.
I agree with the sentiment that you should not buy these boosters. The only way to make real bank off of them is to hold them and try to find a buyer when the price jumps again, and you may be hard pressed to do that.
Don't know if it's my phone, AT&T or the site, but I'm getting a 502 Bad Gateway error whenever I try to use the site from my iPhone. It's been going on since late last night (about 1:30 AM). Sometimes, the site will load, but will either load extremely slowly or will not load properly. I have tried clearing my phone out (cache, cookies, performed a power cycle) but it has not fixed anything. Is anyone else having problems from a mobile?

Nice! I would play any of these "if you control an X this gets +1/+1 and an ability" cards in any limited deck already (albeit maybe not as a high pick.) I think these will be great to sling in Limited.
The other cards seem pretty meh, Falcon seems hard to activate, but maybe in the right deck it'll be ok. Akroma's Memorial is rather blah, but I'm sure some people will want it.
