I cut him at the AER update, and I may have been something of a holdout. Good card, for certain, but definitely outclassed by other cards and how the black aggro decks work. If I had a larger cube (630 or 720), I'd probably still run the Horror.
Love Isamaru. Back in the days of the 5-Color format, many of us played for graffiti ante. I had an "Isamaru, Eater of Ponies," decorated with marker art and a couple of pony stickers, after one loss.
My favorite simple card (I guess this depends on the definition) is Swords to Plowshares.
I played Persecutor briefly, but it was unfun and unpopular. I'd also prefer not to have to find a way to sacrifice my 6/6 flier to win a game.
The worst card I lost to is Kaboom!. It was a draft. My opponent was going to lose next turn. So he played Kaboom!, hit the one card he had that could win him the game (Havoc Demon -- I was at 6), and won.
I think I'll add this in with the HOU update, probably in favor of Angel of Sanctions. The Angel is pretty good, not great, and it's not like white is desperate for O-Ring effects.
I re-added it a while ago, and it's been good. I like it in decks that are either heavier red or have several burn spells to break the symmetry. He's usually worth a free 3-4 damage per game, sometimes more depending on your opponent's cards. He's not for every cube, but he's fun and pretty darn good, too.
8th is great, IMO. Super simplified, fast and easy to play. (Almost) every rule is easier to understand; especially for newer players. The powerlevel system is great for fast games (you can build an army list in under 5 minutes) and moving all the special rules to the unit listings is an incredible time saver.
I play Space Marines (Imperial Fists) and Orks (Deathskullz).
This is what I heard from a game store owner. It sounds really great. I stopped several editions ago when everything got too complex and bogged down. I doubt I'll get back in because of the cost of doing so, but it's good to see they've made the game simpler and more accessible.
I played Chaos Space Marines (Tzeentch). Ahriman has plans for you.
It costs too much, obviously. But the flip trigger is also bad. Yipee, I can get a Cradle... and my first use of it almost certainly comes on my opponent's turn. If this triggered whenever a creature ETB under your control, I'd like it a lot more. Maybe not enough to play it, but I'd have to consider it at that point. As is, easy pass.
Seems good for peasant cubes (and it will likely go into mine), but I don't think it will go into my main cube. I like explore as a mechanic, but not enough to push this over the top.
I like this. Evasion is always nice on a 3-power 3-drop. Shutting off lifegain may not be relevant all the time, but blanking lifelink or making Lone Missionary just a dork can be huge for a red deck. The ping ability will help against tokens and other decks that want to cast creatures; against control, I'll take a point to put another threat on the board. This looks like a solid addition.
Ugh. The new planeswalker rule is a flavor fail (and I rarely complain about flavor), and this card is a Jace fail. It would have been nice to see a new blue 'Walker debut. But now, with the type uniqueness gone, there's no reason to stop printing more versions of the Gatewatch.

I don't even think this will make my reject rare cube. My standards are higher.
