The plan is to throw them off of their mana early game with crack the earth and boom // bust while hopefully not loosing land ourselves thanks to Flagstones and fetchland for boom // bust and sacrificing tokens or Flagstones to the crack the earth. After that, either overwhelm them with tokens, or get out Emrakul, the Aeons Torn with Nahiri, the Harbinger or by sacrificing a token to Indomitable creativity. Indomitable creativity is also sometimes able to get rid of Bridges or other troublesome artifacts which is nice. Aside from on-color fetches, are there any upgrades or other ideas you all have for the deck?
Have any of you guys experimented with taking the paint off of cards with an xacto knife? I recently saw a video of an altered art liliana of the veil being done this way and it turned out good. I though it was an interesting idea..
Can someone point me to a brand of paint that covers well? It takes me 3 or 4 coats just to get the base coat down with the cheap hobby lobby acrylics I have. Thanks! By the way the alters on this forum have gotten AMAZING. I've watched this forum for years and it seems like they just keep getting better!
How do you guys paint full art alters without the card warping? I never have this problem when I paint borderless alters and its really ticking me off. I paint with 7-8 coats and wait until the paint dries between each coat .. what else can I do?
Here's a question for those of you using acetone as well to blank cards. I've gotten very fond of this method, but I doubt that the use of acetone is good for your health. So how do you guys protect your hands? Any advice, any recommendations?
Correct me if I'm wrong but acetone is not actually dangerous to touch. I use laquer thinner which works simularly but is dangerous. but with good pair of gloves and a well ventilated area you will be fine
Big problem guys - Now that I got my set of Mystical Tutors in the mail they banned the card from legacy - I need a tutor that is better than Rystic tutor (the one i was using before). Burning wish was suggested but it only works for sorceries, not instants. Help!
I've tried a few of the ideas you guys suggested and I came up with a new list. I went for more tutors to make the deck faster and more reliable but I removed discard spells which will make the deck harder to play against decks with counterspells or discard until I sideboard. Mystical tutor is an all star and it was well worth adding blue just for that. Here are the new numbers and list:
Changes
The deck
-1 Ad Nauseam
-2 Rhystic Tutor
-4 Cabal Therapy
-1 Duress
-8 Swamp
-1 Phyrexian Tower
+1 Chrome Mox
+4 Mystical Tutor
+3 Crimson Kobalds
+4 Gemstone Mine
+1 City of Brass (will be replace with something later)
+ 5 Island
My big question now is do I leave it like this in the mainboard with almost no combo protection and side in discard when I need it or would it be better to keep it in and side it out when I dont need it. I feel pretty good about these numbers but any suggestions to make it more consistant turn 2 would be great.
Lots of good suggestions guys, thanks Its going to be fun playtesting different versions and seeing what works best. I *could* trade my force of wills for leds, which would bring this deck up a notch but i dont think I like ANT enough to do it. I just want a budget version.
I wouldn't say I have no idea how it works... To consistantly pull off the combo turns 1-4 I must know how it works. The question is more about how to make it work faster, better, and more protected using the basis that I already have. I don't have much experience in Legacy so any insight from Legacy players would be helpfull. I will look into card draw spells though, and I'd consider splashing blue for mystical tutor... ill have to playtest thanks
I'm looking for suggestions for a version of ad nauseam-tendrils that I have been working on. I dont have the money for the LED tutor version of the deck, or any cards over $10 each but I would like it to still be competative. I've goldfished it many times and have averaged the times it takes to win:
I've never played this deck against a competitive Legacy deck so I'd also love some advice on how I should play it. Do I wait for a Cabal Therapy/Duress before I play the key cards in my deck or do I go for the win as soon as I can? The main problem I'm running into is needing a creature in my opening hand to power a culling the week or a diabolic intent.
I keep telling you people, I live in england where acetone is considered an explosive. They don't sell that sort of thing on the high street like they seem to where the rest of you live.
I've found that laquer thinner works well as a substitute, maybe you can get that where you live? Its used in the collision repair industry and I'm not quite sure where you could get it (we get it in 25 gallon drums and I doubt you want THAT much ) but I'd try napa or fleet farm or whatever kind of stores you guys have over there thats similar. Be careful with it though, its a carcinogen and absorbs into your bloodstream in less than 3 seconds. It will eat through cheap gloves in no time so get a good pair and use it in a well ventilated area. Hope that helps!
I saw it as he was hunkered down in a snowbank or something, out on a hunting trip, takin' a crap. Then some artist walked up behind him and started sketching. He heard scratching noises behind him, and stood up in surprise.
Thats awesome I almost fell out of my chair laughing. That would make a HILARIOUS full art alter

Does anyone know if it is legal to sell proxies? I think it might be because vintage allows proxies but I dont know.
Thats awesome I almost fell out of my chair laughing. That would make a HILARIOUS full art alter
I also listed my pair of Teetering Peaks, Terminates, and full art Brainstorm. This is my first time selling my alters so wish me luck
