  • posted a message on Indexing cards in trade and sales posts?
How do you get your cards to index in the trade & sale forums so they'll show up as how many you have sale/trade/ want? I can't figure out what the trick is.

    Thanks!

Here's the link to Lulz taking first place in the latest PE:

A few small differences between this list and the one he took 4th with that jaszuni posted. Sylvan Caryatid and Scavenging Ooze are now 1 ofs, Charm 4, Ajani 3, Banisher Priest 3, and 1 Fleecemane Lion. The changes are interesting, but its more evidence that the Chronicler version is competitive.

Any idea if you can watch the video replay of this? I have MTGO but not sure how to watch replays, if possible. I'd like to figure out what his sideboard plan is. Thinking of playing this list tomorrow at a local tourney.

    What do you mean?

At work right now so I can't access SCG, did the price for boxes drop or something?

I have no idea what that guy is talking about. SCG still shows $300/box, goyf at $120, bob at $50 and sold out etc...

Does anyone else get the impression MM won't be so limited as some people predicted? One of the stores in my area got a /ton/ of product.

They are doing 2x 40+ person sealed events with 2 packs per person of prize (>640 packs), 10x 36 person drafts (1080 packs), they have 16 sealed boxes for sale, and ~400 individual packs for sale. That's almost 100 boxes of MM. Is this unusual?

I think this will be a lot more common than people think (or want to believe), atleast in North America. Another store in the same city is sending out reminders they have boxes for pre-sale at $240 because they aren't being bought. A third store announced they are selling packs at $6 each with a limit of 10/person/day. Store 1 and 3 move a ton of product so I'm not surprised to see they got as much as they did.

Don't worry, we have to pay $40CDN to draft it here, despite being right across the border, thanks to price gouging LGS's Smile

My LGS, who normally gouges, is doing drafts for $25 and sealed for $40 if you pre-reg by june 7.

Price is exactly MSRP, which is what MODO operates on. I'd draft this set in paper for the same cost all week long at that price if i could.

its the "plus 9 tickets" that is the kicker. Normal drafts are MSRP + 2 tix.

So, this might be a dumb question, but should I sell cards I want to profit off of for Modern Masters because of a current price spike to speculation?

I have a playset of cards like Aether Vial that I don't really plan on using, I have decks I'd rather use in Modern and Legacy that does use them, and I'd like to profit as much as possible off of them. Should I pitch these Darksteel ones, or will the ones from Modern Masters not have a profound impact on these prices?

Also, though they haven't been spoiled, I really want to invest in some Noble Hierarchs. Say they or another card I want on here is about to be released through MM, should I just wait for the release or will the prices of the originals increase and the cards in MM only be a limited run, still raise the value of the card itself, or will the greater amount of the cards lower the value all around?

(Also, I understand any advice given here is just a suggestion and that it's only trends and guessing, but I've been kicking around in my head whether or not to pitch them or hold them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.)

If you really want to make money off Modern Masters, buy Modern staples that AREN'T in MM.

Has there been any independent confirmation that this list is accurate? I'm not saying it is or isn't, I'm saying that a blurry post of a card + a new poster have been a recipe for inaccurate spoilers in the past!

I would tend to believe this poster. Obviously if he is established here he would not use his normal account given the harshness WoTC have shown towards unauthorized spoilers in the past. It makes perfect sense to me. They could potentially track him down and punish whoever the distributor is that he got the packs from if his normal account has ever been associated with his real name.

The cards he listed seem reasonable, especially the dragon and likely the cycle of dragons. You people that think every single card in this set is going to be a money card will have a disappointing reality to accept once the full set is spoiled. There will still be tons of good cards, but not every single mythic/rare will be money.

Still finding it the most amusing that he posts an image of a card spoiled in another thread so it makes all of his cards valid ...

As far as I know the OP is the originator of that photo...

It matters so ( (we) o not have to keep reading "What's the proof???" A pack was opened early from another is all that is needed, so the OP doesn't doom him/herself in.

That's why it matters. Throw a seal a fish and it stops barking.

    Or just wear earplugs. OMG

No one notice he listed Arcbound Ravager. LOL. This is a draft set. Why would they waste a Rare or even a mythic for a card that, unless they fill the set weth artifacts, would be literally unplayable

Please, EVERY set has rares and mythics that are useless in draft.

You dislike their practices of running a business in a way to maximize profits? I think they call that jealousy.

Blame the people that buy from them, not the store themselves. Nothing wrong with taking money from lazy/ignorant people, isn't that the American dream?

LGSes that are pushing $12 a pack prices are just shafting their customers to make a profit. You can't apply your magical christmasland economics 101 to a card shop. Because every Friday all those players are going to be reminded that hey, this guy was more focused on making a few extra bucks than letting us draft MM at a reasonable price.

And they will still come back to feed their addiction because that's the way Magic players are. If they actually put any real value on money none of this would be happening. Blame your fellow players for driving the price up like this by having no self control.

boxes haven't been under $100 since before Return to Ravnica.

Also at 90 your talking around $5 a box as what they are making. its slightly under that mind you but no they make almost nothing at that price and with shipping being more that is why box prices have gone up.

Boxes at one of the local sports card stores have always been $95. His cost did not change when RTR came out. It was only hype and gouging driven by SCG that had most LGS's charging a premium.

He is making his profit on volume, but your statement that boxes haven't been under $100 since RTR is completely false unless you only shop at SCG.
