@lorentis: I believe the RU build of Dragonstorm is probably the safest in legacy currently.
@Pyromancer's Ascension: I think this card is misplaced or just doesn't really fit the deck. I like the idea of playing Seething Song for 2R and ending up with 10 x R. However, I see two problems with this:
1. Too Slow. Your force yourself to commit to landed Pyromancer's Ascension on turn 2, and I don't see it becoming active by turn 4. Dragonstorm usually goes off by turn 4 from my experience. I mean unless your turn 3 was devoted to play 3 x Ponder your ascension wouldn't be active for a couple turns, and in most cases would be game.
2. I believe the copies from Pyromancer's Ascension do not count for storm count for Dragonstorm. You get the origional spell but not the copy, much like Gigadrowse. The copies are put on the stack and not cast.
I'll assume so and I will expand on the manabase. I played Dragonstorm a whole lot during last extended season.
First off, you don't need 4 Steam Vents, the continuous life loss can be dangerous. I only played one Steam Vents in my deck. However, this changes entirely if you decide to play Volcanic Islands, in which case you must have 4.
Secondly, since your playing Brainstorm, more fetches is absolutely necessary.
@Pyromancer's Ascension: Interesting idea, I'm not sure if it works but feel free to test it. Lotus Bloom is incredibly powerful in the deck though and enables turn 4 wins almost always.
I am still not sure a deck that placed 25th in a tournament is the best example of a deck, but I will mention that Vexing Sphinx is being considered as an alternative card in the creatures section of the primer.
Although 25th isn't the best, it is by no means terrible or bad in any way. Vexing Sphinx is an interesting alternative card. It's a 4/4 flyer for 1UU, which adds some fighting power for those who feel the other creatures won't get you there, however, I will assure you they will. Yes, you have to discard for it's upkeep cost but this can feed Jotun Grunt. Also, niffty trick, you can put the age counter and not pay the upkeep cost and draw a card when it goes to the graveyard.
Vexing Sphinx
Some people have been testing and playing in major tournaments with this card. I am not entirely sold on the merits of this card as it causes card disadvantage before it nets you any card advantage. Not to mention that in order to get it into play around a counter based deck you need Jitte set to 3, which is a tough job in a deck that normally prefers to have Jitte set to 2.
Jitte = Aether Vial here. But thank you again on the great primer and including Vexing Sphinx, sorry to be so nit picky.
Great primer and I'm so glad to see this deck get a thread here. You might want to add Sam Roukes list from the SCG Legacy Open Philly, it has the cool addition of Vexing Sphinx, which has some cool tricks.
So I went and saw The Last Airbender and... wow, what a complete pile of s**t. Normally I'm not so harsh on movies but not only was this a flaming bag of poop, but it also completely neglected all the things that made the original cartoon amazing. They butchered the names, changed key plot points, and completely neglected the messages of tolerance and equality (among races AND sexes) for some special effects. Boooooo... so disappointed
Yeah, I heard it was completely disappointing, which is sad. I haven't seen it myself, not compelled enough to sit through a potentially bad movie nor pay $10. I work at a video store so maybe I'll watch it in ~ 3 Months.
@Surging Chaos, yeah, Azusa, Lost but Seeking can be a win-more card, if your are doing something like Captain Sisay + Thousand-Year Elixir to get multiple land drops a turn, that can be unnecessary. However, she can give you just some quick acceleration, I usually tutor her up if I have say a Yavimaya Elder, so I can get those lands directly in play. Azusa can be really good in some situations but by no means is a mandatory inclusion, just a card to consider at most.
Have you ever tried Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker? She can provide solid defense from the mid-game onwards. Llark can bring her back and trample damage into you still triggers her. Just something to consider.
Even in multiplayer playing Eldrazi is a personal preference. I've put it in my deck, but I've yet to look for it (have to say that I haven't played much games lately). For 15 mana I'd rather play Kamahl and activate him twice (yes, I know, this costs 16, but I assume you'll have that :P)
Exactly, I have been playing Captain Sisay EDH, thanks Surging Chaos for the damn good primer, however, back on track, Kamahl, Fist of Krosa is a total house. I have been considering Emrakul, the Aeons Torn but generally always Kamahl gets you there. Plus, like Surging Chaos said Bribery is abundant and personal note, it's terrible seeing Emrakul on the otherside of the table and probably more so if it's/was yours. I will also say, completely unrelated Azusa, Lost but Seeking has been amazing for me.
Hellcarver Demon? crazy with Sneak Attack, unfortunately you don't the get the pleasure of eldrazi.
Grinning Demon, hardcastable big demon.
Spirit of Night, demon Progenitus.
But if this is tribal wars, dragons and play Dragonstorm?
Kitchen Finks and maybe even Spiritmonger, please play Spiritmonger.

However, it would be amazing to try to make a version with Burning Wish and Lion's Eye Diamond.

Yes, apologies again.

She is a nice deterrent, but Yosei, the Morning Star is better but I play both.

EDIT: Also, in reference to Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre being a tutorable Vindicate, I honestly prefer the infinitely more stylish Predator, Flagship, although it can only remove creatures. Also, Karn, Silver Golem and the ship are quite a good pair.
< replies >
Predators definitely. Had to keep your choice of indigo text PurpleD, gives you style, another whole meaning to flavor text.
< wants to talk about new extended, too bad it's old news now >
