i've taken the last two years off and really haven't missed much about it. i started playing during revised and the game had just started to change too much so it was time for me to get out. maybe in a year or so i'll get back into the game, if it starts returning to its roots. who knows.
Like others have mentioned above, there is no way to tell unless you actually search the cards.
Which kind of makes it funny since I distinctly remember a vendor selling the summer MTG wrapping for 20+USD.
Essentially you would be paying for a revised booster wrapping with a big E on it.
Necro Warning.
This is not exactly true. I started playing at the end of unlimited when revised was just coming out. The packs that cards came in during the Pre-Fourth edition sets were notoriously easy to see through. It was possible to see through the wrapper and see either the name of the cards in the pack or the copyright info at the bottom. This was easiest with revised and legends packs.
And as for packs still being around. up until sometime early last year there were still several known packs of Summer that were still out on the market although they were stupid expesive. if they're still out there i can't say.
this is an interesting idea, not a terribly smart one but interesting. i find the idea of armed teachers a bit uncomfortable. my mom is a teacher and so, growing up, i spent a lot of time with... well, teachers. most of them either wouldn't carry a weapon or have the nerve to pull the trigger if they had to. and i think someone somewhere up the page said "just shoot the teacher first", good point. i mean really, have there been many cases where a school shooting didn't end in the shooter doing themselves in??? would the other teachers really have time to respond when someone starts shooting down the hall and kids start running everywhere screaming?
better parenting is a great idea. seeing what kind of crap my teacher friends and my mom's friends have to deal with i've decided that most people who are parents really shouldn't be. they count on schools to teach they're children everything from how to read to morals and disciplin. last time i checked parents should be teaching their kids how to deal with other people, not schools, its not their place. you don't send your kid to school to learn right from wrong you teach them that when they're young so they don't grow up and shoot up their classroom. i told some people just the other day, if there was a test to determine who was allowed to breed it would make the world such a better place. then people who could handle the responsibility of having kids would be having them and not people who are more interested in themselves than raising a productive and adjusted member of society.
on a slightly different angle, there is a city close to where i live that requires every home to have a gun. i'm not sure how the laws are enforced or if any kind of training is required but i do know that they have a very low rate of violent crime and robbery. but the home is very different from a school and it is north of atlanta so there is a fairly high average knowledge about guns. (hunting and other outdoors type stuff).
interesting. i could see that card as a textless promo but the scan doesn't look real. the artist credit is missing the paintbrush thats on the other textless cards and none of the others have expansion symbols.
Edit:
well i thought that i might actually be the first one on this one but i guess i was wrong.
the entire situation is ridiculous and makes me wish that lived in another country much less the same state as these people. while i'm on the subject, i'll go on record as saying that not everyone from Georgia is a back-woods right wing conservative moron like the lady in the article, many of us enjoy good wiccan propaganda as much as the next guy.
anyway, i feel that if the lady doesn't want her kids reading Harry Potter, who cares, take the kids out of school and home school them so they'll grow up believing what you want them to believe. don't try to force your beliefs on everyone else. thats one thing i can't stand, people shoving they're ideology down my throat (or atleast trying to).
ugh... i could go on about this for hours but i'll stop now.
actually i just got interested in linux also. i downloaded and burned the Ubuntu disk and was also thinking about looking in to Fedora. i haven't installed it yet because i'm trying to get the box i'm going to put it on back in working order. i like the idea of this thread. i'll probably be needing some advise once i get it installed.
actually i'm waiting to upgrade my until they bring out a 100gb iPod. i know that sounds extreme but i have about 60gb of music then any movies or videos i want to put on there, it goes fast. i'm always having to erase everything off my 20gb whenever my mood changes.
i've got a few watches. two Fossils, one with a square black face and one with a square white one, and a Bulova with a round blue face. I want to get an Omega Speedmaster but i've got to convince my wife first.
i'm planning on going to see Regina Spektor on the 17th. she's doing a free show at a park downtown (atlanta). very excited, she's probably one of the most talented artists i've heard of lately.
i think that, much like some others have said, as long as your not swearing every other word its not that big of a deal. i've found that when i was younger, say 15-18 or so i used more bad language than i do now that i'm in a more professional atmosphere. i think that words in this category can and should be used to add emphasis when needed but shouldn't be over used. like somewhere up the page said, sometime you really need to make a point and if your always using those types of words your point might not come across as intended.
i just painted the inside of a large closet black. its wide and not very deep with folding doors. i proudly hung by new 40" 1080p LCD in it. it looks amazing.

i hope this sets a precedent for the rest of the PR cards for this block being new takes on old icons.
edit: and i don't believe that serra angle would represent Serra, think about serra paladin, definately not serra

Magic is the only one that really stuck.
