I don't know why no one replied to this, I think stronghold is a cool idea. Its inspired my own design. Here's my take:

    Land- Stronghold

T: add W or R to your mana pool
Pay W or R, T: Attach a creature you control to this stronghold. Creatures attached to this stronghold gain defender and have protection from creatures.

When I think of a stronghold I think of it being built into the natural surroundings, thus being a land. Each two color pair would get a stronghold. I'm not fond of incentivizing mass blocking like this but it could be counteracted with evasive creatures. Unblockable especially.

When does mana empty from your pool? I thought Frontier Siege would add mana in both of your main phases, giving a total of 4 when you hit second main phase. Is this correct?

Do spells with rebound trigger prowess on the...well, rebound? I would assume so since it says cast from exile.

Looking for a little feedback on these. Im not sure the order of colors in the mana cost. The flavor is that heroes come to your aid in dire times and that they are intimidating when they enter the battle. I tried to get aspects of all three colors in each.

Hero of the Fallen Empire 3BRG

    Deathtouch
When Hero of the Fallen Empire enters the battlefield it fights target creature you dont control.
If you have the lowest life total other creatures you control get +1/+1.

    4/7

Hero of the Tortured Mind 3BWU

    Flying

When Hero of the Tortured Mind enters the battlefield put target creature on top of its owners library.
If you have the lowest life total creatures you control have intimidate.
    4/6

    Hero of Deadly Arcana 3BRU

    Haste

When Hero of Deadly Arcana enters the battlefield creatures your opponent controls get -2/-2 until end of turn.
If you have the lowest life total draw a card when Hero of Deadly Arcana deals combat damage to a player.
    6/3

Hero of the Noble Mystic 3GUW

    Trample

When Hero of the Noble Mystic enters the battlefield you may tap or untap up to two target creatures.
If you have the lowest life total Hero of the Noble Mystic is indestructable.
    6/6

    Hero of Savage Beatings 3RGW

    First Strike
When Hero of Savage Beatings enters the battlefield creatures your opponents control cant block this turn.
If you have the lowest life total all creatures must block Hero of Savage Beatings if able.
    6/5

I did some searching on the us patent office website yesterday to see if I could find any names that might give away next fall's set-khans block was filed about a year in advance- but I couldn't find anything. A search of wizards of the coast turned up nothing while a search if Hasbro was successful but I saw no names. Is there another way to search?

  • posted a message on KTK game length
I'd like to see stats on what percentage of matches are timing out. I'm not a slow player by any means but I don't want to feel forced into making poor decisions because I only have 6 seconds to think about each play. The complex board states which KTK presents can lead to that feeling and I don't believe the answer is to "play faster". If a much larger than normal segment of the population is timing out it isn't because they are just slow players and need to quicken up, its because the format is too slow for a 30 minute clock.

I love this set but draft game lengths are far too long in general. I haven't had a chance to draft on MTGO yet but have people been complaining about timing out and if so is there anything in the works to change the match length time?

This counts as premium removal these days. I usually run two of them and I'm always happy with the work they do.

Well the biggest thing for me is instability. Apparently its called memory buildup or something but the new client will freeze up sometimes. I've drafted five times using the new client and its happened twice. Once I missed an entire pack while restarting my computer.

  • posted a message on what advice would you give a new drafter
That's all solid advice. I would add that its important to stay away from anything above 5 cmc unless you are in green or its a bomb rare. Removal in this block is weak so pick highly anything that even looks like removal. Curving out is super important. If a turn goes by that you don't play at least one creature it could be hard to make up the tempo loss.

  • posted a message on New drafter's JBT experience
I've seen a lot of JBT opinions lately so I thought I'd offer my own-new drafter's-experience to see what advice I can get.
I've been playing constructed a few years and decided to dip my toe in the draft waters on the first day of BTT. I've drafted over two hundred times since(mostly on non-mtgo sites).
Based on most opinions I'm reading, JBT is a much deeper format than most think. Most people are used to "figuring out" a format and being able to reliably draft it once they've reached that point. I think the reason JBT gets it's reputation as such a swingy and unreliable format is becuase you can't simply choose a two color pair and go get it.
I'm only a newb but in my experience there is actually two ways to play every two color pair. Even U/R has a great control and great aggro deck, contrary to most people' belief that it's not even a viable color pairing.
JBT appears to be highly focused on aggro, but i've played against many superior control decks even when I've had what anyone would consider the perfect R/W hero deck- drawing the nut draw of Skyguard, ordeal, removal, combat trick.
My overall opinion is that this is actually a much deeper format than most give it credit for.
Those with years of draft experience: What is different about this set than most other full block environments and what is similar?
