Hinotama beats Error1 before Managara loses summoning sickness and before he gets beaten up when he goes first. 2-2
He also goes off on the play before Shogun17's Magus/Omnath can kill him. 2-2
He can't beat Thundersnow only because of Skinshifter turning into a 0/8 + Doran giving a turn 4 clock which I think is a cool design (or possibly a hilariously fortunate fluke, but it feels intentional).
I think those are the only two changes.
I made a doran deck for modern, and I run Skinshifter over goyf in it, and yes dealing exactly 20 was intentional, I however should have run shizo, or okina as the second land.
How do you beat me Benbuzz? Form of the Dragon says you can't attack me with non fliers, so it's a draw.
Otherwise, I beat Thundersnow and lose the other two.
0-0-X-2-6-
Golem means you cannot afford to cast eureka,
other game
Also I think he draws to epocrisite because it can die and come back as something too big for golem to attack through quickly enough, by sacking it to the first stack trigger.
he can win if he can force an epoc sac on a turn that he can also swing with golem, but if epoc can be sacked on a turn golem cannot attack it is a draw
Also my deck beats gargabalance on the play and loses on the draw
halo has to name omnath and Jugan is just quick enough when I go first.
incidentally playing double magus instead of one vineyard would have gotten me this game.
I tried to make my deck able to beat eureka's but forgot about the chancellors
The slowing of discard makes me feel safer about playing a cool combo deck that does not get online until t 3.
Smallpox and crack the earth are good cards that I think are good for the meta,
t0 leyline of anticipation combos will be fun and are balanced by the loss of a card to anticipation itself
mental misstep - shoal -snapback is a solid control package (seeing as it won one of the rounds) but it is not perfect and uses a lot of deck space pretty inefficiently
I like eureka in the format because there is always the chance your opponent has slightly bigger/better eureka targets
Note that I only have about a month of M5CB and a bunch of 2CB experience
I'm only a few points back! I could still do it! (Though I personally think that despite its lack of success, that Thundersnow's deck is way way cooler. I'm not sure any card in his deck has been used more than like once, ever in 5CB, and generates tokens using freakin Glitterfang..., whereas Shogun's deck is powerful and well built, but runs multiple cards I've seen several times (Though I do think the Ooze is pretty cool).
Also: why is nobody commenting on the format options?
Thanks, I will apologize in advance for this weeks not at all creative submission though knoboddi may confirm that decks I considered previous to my final submission were pretty nifty. I will make sure they see the light of day.
Out of curiosity, if you submitted it that way, why does it not appear that way in the results?
knoboddi changed it because he did not think it worked and mountain was basically the same thing. I just do not want to get knocked for not making all my cards including lands start with the same letter.
for the record, I submitted my deck with glimmervoid instead of mountain; knowing full well that mountain, mountain as lands would have been better, but wanting all my cards to start with G
I do not like banning after one data point, I think another normal week with people building to expect the LD/hand control is worth it. Then if the same types of cards are really hurting the meta then banning something and testing the meta again is a good plan.
Mana intensive. How many lands do lists usually run? 22? 23? Having to have a green open is a pain.
Comparing the two everyone would say Goyf is better. You are saying SS can be better with Doran out and you would be correct. But now that is another creature you relies so much on Doran. Harbingers and SPellskites are enough imo. Goyf and KoTR gives us the option to beat face with or w/o Doran.
Sure.
there are going to be turns that he is just a 1/1 and that is going to be the time when he is worse but I expect him to be better a lot of the rest of the time. I think he can be strong but I can see myself being a little optimistic saying it is better than goyf, though I only think so in a doran list. Being able to trample or fly allows him to get a little extra damage on turns.

Another choice is to increase my metagaming ability.

Hey! :/
But really I would make an earth surge deck or something that exploits doubling season
I also have a U/G flash deck or two.

it is not different, both my statement and yours should mean the same thing.
say I am playing student of warfare figure of destiny as a deck
I would only play plains
if I am playing dreadwing *hint hint* then I probably want to play
swamp, then island, then mountain depending on my second card of course.
Sure.

it is not, both should be equivalent.
