Nov 17, 2011I have some disagreements with how my deck was scored,Posted in: Forum Magic
noting that the 1 damage at a time rule applied only to damage dealt to players and also that combat damage is dealt simultaneously by all attacking creatures.
This changes the result of me vs Dragondart to a draw, because I can either block a saproling and gain a bunch of life (doing damage to a creature), which it would take a bunch of turns to deal back to me or I can attack with an indestructible dude and force a block to gain a bunch of life.
I would do my full results if I actually had time.
Oct 22, 2011Posted in: Forum MagicQuote from Feyd_RuinTouch allows a 3rd turn Howl, and dodges misstep, which I thought might come into play.
Beyond that, it's just more monogreen
I wanted a fun deck, since I failed round 2 this month, potm is off, so I'm just goina submit some timmy decks
yeah, it looks like Touch is better at casting odd cmc monogreen/colorless things as long as having more mana is not that useful.
Oct 22, 2011I think that because of the land rule allowing hexdepths to go off on turn 2 it may be a little strong, turn three seems fine because the opponent can fight it with a 2cmc card when hexdepths is on the play. Perhaps errata but that seems unnecessarily confusing. It seems weird to ban the deck but I like both cards in the format (because they do unique things) but having them together is tough to beat.Posted in: Forum Magic
Oct 20, 2011Posted in: Other Forum GamesQuote from Draco9I got some ideas for the next High Number Death Game to spice things up, let me know what you think of them.
1.) If you submit a bid and the bid is the exact same number as another person's bid, the bids are invalidated and both players are not awarded any points for the round.
2.) Players may also increase by one point the bid of another player when they submit a bid. The recipient of the point gets a point added to his or her score for the round. If it puts that player above the upper limit, then he or she is penalized accordingly.
3.) Instead of the normal way of penalizing the highest bidder, the highest bidder gets penalized an amount of points equal to the bid of the lowest player.
I like the second rule but it seems only able to punish the riskiest players who I think should be winning anyway.
Oct 17, 2011Posted in: Other Forum GamesQuote from Sir MuWell, obviously, no one will bet 100 for round one because there is nothing higher. It's an assured loss. Because of this, no one will bet 99, because no one will bet 100. It's an assured loss. Because of this, no one will bet 98, because no one will bet 99 or 100. It's an assured loss. Because of this...
Yes assuming all players play rationally everyone will submit 1 and get one point.
Oct 16, 2011Thundersnow posted a message on Vintage 2CB BANE Week: We Have a New Student Today, Class.FTR I submitted Mosquito vindicate but switched to counterspell to protect myself against RSZ which means I did not meta hard enough and should have known everyone was expecting RSZ and thus did not play it knowing everyone was expecting it.Posted in: Forum Magic
Oct 13, 2011Unfortunately for iso, I switched the other two boxes while he was not looking and he left with merely a pile of old socks. I took the box with the cheese with me back to my house where I began preparations to cook the cheese into a delicious alfredo sauce.Posted in: Other Forum Games
Oct 10, 2011Posted in: Forum MagicQuote from TANEmaybe I just don't understand the layout of the grid, but I'm marked as losing 0-6 to player 12 while he's marked as losing 0-6 to me. I think it should be the latter, as Gaddock stops Kumano and Liliana kills the Anurid Scavenger before he can start recurring the Time Walk.
Gaddock Teeg does not stop kumano, but liliana does stop anurids.
also I think the grid is in a state of flux at least until HoD updates it again.
Oct 10, 2011I should 6-0 Heart of Draco because Kumano can attack which is one more source a turn than story circle can stop.Posted in: Forum Magic
I also win on the draw against all the braids decks, because exploration allows me to play lands and when kumano sticks I can kill braids and win
I 3/3 whammwhamme Kumano can deal with emrakul forever but I lose to hymn on the play
I lose-lose to draco9, (which now makes me think that all my numbers are wrong or I am reading the chart incorrectly)
Personman 4-1 I Draw with WoS&M by taking infinite turns, then beat braids
0-6 against feyd, who has great decks, I expect we will see anvil of bagardan a lot or we will ban it because it is an elegant loophole to our discard rule.
3-3 against shogun who beats me with path
3-3 against Tane who gets me with liliana and the extra land rule (which I like)
6-0 against buzz
3-3 against catmurderer
3-3 VM4L who never gets to equip jitte
3-3 against knoboddi
28 on the week
Beating Braids on the draw was a good call but my play deck was a little disappointing given how good it can be.
Oct 7, 2011Posted in: Forum MagicQuote from Heart of DracoWould that ever have been relavant?
You also could have run Razorverge Thicket and Eiganjo.
Also: side note for Modern Doran:
I made a fun one. It had a Glittering WishBoard with 1 Doran in the side among several other good targets, and used Spellskite to good effect (both protects doran and swings for 4 on curve). Can't run GSZ anymore though.
Yeah spellskite can be kind of a house, mine also runs forbidden watchtower and ohran viper, it probably wanted more testing but I liked it.
