Long time lurker and player of ipainter here. Thanks to everyone who's analysis and opinions have contributed to making me a better pilot of this deck.
Thought I'd share a piece of original art you all might appreciate.
Neither War and Peace or Body and Mind are particularly strong. It is unlikely you'll see them as anything more than a sideboard card. Feast and Famine, however, is the real deal and should be expected to eventually rise to the value of the old Mirrodin swords.
I respectfully disagree with your first statement. War and peace has (arguably) the second best protection after Light and Shadow, and closes the game out very fast.
While I agree that FaF is the stronger overall effect, I believe there will come a time relatively soon when WaP will become a hot commodity again.
It looks like Voice of Resurgence is creeping back up to $50 again...
Makes sense, it's one of the hardest of the current T2 staples to come by since DGM was so under-opened. Though I would have assumed the sheep would be selling all their copies right now after seeing the PT top 8, despite GW and Naya remaining very well represented and viable decks.
It's an inevitable gainer going forward until mid summer 2014, but I wonder why it's going up right now?
Took first at a recent local qualifier with Painter. Really love the deck, and while I agree that it's only dominant vs. greedy manabases, it still has decent game against most of the non-emrakul, non-burn decks.
I am currently assembling cards to convert my monored list to a white splash for enlightened tutors and the superior silver bullet toolbox sideboard this enables. Without much card advantage/filtering, I really think this deck needs more quick tutoring.
I've debated trying out Gamble as a tutor since it synergizes with Welder to a degree, but I'm still thinking that enlightened tutor is the better choice. We'll see what testing shows...
Haven't found anything similar so far on ebay's distant history, so it's possible that Worthpoint doesn't search ebay.ca, or that it wasn't ever sold on there. The hunt continues...
Going to try and contact some tournament organizers and judges to see if they remember anything from past events. Maybe I'll get lucky
Great idea morphling. I'll try that. I actually do know of the Mark your talking about, and I believe he's helped a lot of artists (like Volkan Baga and Dan Frazier) sell their pieces, so he's pretty connected.
I've been looking for the Jim Murray original painting of Reaper King for a long time now and was just curious if anyone knows who bought it several years back. Perhaps you are even the owner and would consider giving it a great home for a generous offer.
I've already spoken with the artist himself (super nice guy), and he said he sold it at an event or tournament in person a long while back (from my research, I'm guessing around 2010 maybe?), but he couldn't remember any details.
This particular piece of original art is pretty important to me, and I've been saving up a good sum for a while in the off chance that it turns up somewhere. If anyone knows anything further and would be willing to share, I'd be very grateful and would try and return the favor in any way that I can.

Not likely coming down. I would get them now if I were you. Supply seems to be drying up a bit. Channelfireball had a great deal on them because they had so many, but most of those have been scooped up.
I dont understand how you could justify that. Almost all foils settle at 2X to 2.5X the non foil price. If thoughseize is seeing downward price prressure, the foils will come down as well. Where is the analysis for why this time is different?
I think where these types of foils are different lies in whether or not they are top tier eternal staples.
Sure, most standard cards are a mere 2x the price in foil, but can you say that about Deathrite Shaman, or Snapcaster Mage, or JTMS, or LoTV, or Tarmogoyf, ect? Those types of cards are often 4x the price or more once the dust settles.

Thanks for chiming in and no problem. Despite lots of legwork and research, I'm still running off of very little info so anything helps.
Jim said he sold it at an event, so it's possible that the next owner sold it on ebay. Time to go through Worthpoint to search ebay's history...
Thanks RancoredElf!
Thanks!

I find myself checking them often and enjoying the benefits, and just thought you guys should recieve a shout out for your pro-bono work.
