Holy cow. I can totally cast this in my Esper Control standard build after the game is in control, tap Nazhal or Construct tokens to crew it and MAKE ANGELS FOR GREAT JUSTICE.

    Yessssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Watchwolf, our CMDR group has a Locus God deck, a Lazav Mill deck, my jank Jasmine Boreal deck and whatever else other people have. It's not beyond belief this could take over a game and win at some point.
Of course this will never succeed in a cEDH environment, but it's fine in a kitchen table setting.

This is a limited bomb with no room in constructed. You have Lyra at 5, Resplendent at 3, Aurelia at 4, Grace at 5 with flash...Serra Angel is in Standard and doesn't even see play. The Feather aspect is the sweetest part of the card.

Arcane Adaptation to make him a Merfoilk, then Shenanigans with Deeproot Elite! GOblins and Merfolk together at long last!

DailyMTG's previous incarnation was pretty good. You had scheduled articles: on Monday MaRo, on Tuesday Alongi/Stibs, Wednesday something pro-related, Thursday etc, Friday Latest Developments. Now there is no Latest Development column, virtually no casual play column, and a bunch of links to external articles.
Maybe a little re-focus is needed now? Tighten things up and offer daily content with deck list suggestions, etc.

Man, this is spicy. You can basically turn dead draws into more gas at eot. Fantastic card.
Edit: I definetely will want a copy of this for my Nissa Duel Commander...pitch an Eldrazi, get a critter, reshuffle my grave. Yeah, that won't get dumb at all.

The value on Arena is time and enjoyment.

On Arena I don't have to travel over an hour to get to a LGS and sit on a hard chair.
On Arena I don't have to concede to someone because I don't like them and don't want to spend 50 minutes staring at their face, pretending to be sportsmanlike.
On Arena I can drop a bunch of $ and get full decks with tons of Mythics.
On Arena there is no toxicity because you can't chat or anything, if they spam Emotes you can mute them.
On Arena I get stuff for free every day, and I can save the Gold to get more stuff later. Right now I have 30,000 gold saved, so by the time M20 comes out in July or whenever, or War of the Spark in April, I'll be able to get 30+ packs and have a new deck build immediately.
On Arena I don't need sleeves or dice, or a judge.
On Arena I can get a game any time I want...yes you can do this with Cockatrice or whatever, but I never liked those clients.

Arena is beastly. Once they add cosmetic or Season rewards (Avatars for finishing at Mythic, Gold, Platinium, Diamond, Siver, Bronze...) the game will be unstoppable.

Heck, I sold all my paper junk except for a Commander deck or two because I just don't want to play with people unless one of my best friends that I like is there, and he's there only once in a while because he lives two hours away (or less) in MTL.

posted a message on Meta difference between Single match and "Traditional" constructed games
I am running a Dragons (mono-Red splash white for Justice Strike) deck in upper goal and I am soaring through matches. I have met perhaps one mono-red, most matches are Sultai, Esper, Gruul, and the occasional Dimir. It's fun times in the dragon's lair. Smile

Here is the list I am using, seemed fun and it is.

    4 Sacred Foundry (GRN) 254
    4 Clifftop Retreat (DAR) 239
    2 Spit Flame (M19) 160
    4 Shivan Fire (DAR) 142
    2 Lightning Strike (M19) 152
    4 Justice Strike (GRN) 182
    1 Lava Coil (GRN) 108
    2 Verix Bladewing (DAR) 149
    4 Runaway Steam-Kin (GRN) 115
    4 Rekindling Phoenix (RIX) 111
    1 Lathliss, Dragon Queen (M19) 149
    4 Goblin Chainwhirler (DAR) 129
    4 Demanding Dragon (M19) 135
    3 Sarkhan, Fireblood (M19) 154
    16 Mountain (DAR) 264
    1 Plains (M19) 261

    2 Sorcerous Spyglass (XLN) 248
    3 Lightning Mare (M19) 151
3 Fight with Fire (DAR) 119
    3 Fiery Cannonade (XLN) 143
    2 Banefire (M19) 130
    2 Lava Coil (GRN) 108

posted a message on Are that many people really spending money on this game?
I have spent on the game and will continue doing so. I am very close to a full set of Guilds of Ravnica from just drafting, opening packs on Sundays and spending gems and gold on packs. Because of this, my Vault opens perilously quickly; I am 70% to my next Vault opening and I opened it just two weeks ago. The key is having as many sets of uncommons and commons in a set as you can, since drafting gets you tons of this stuff, which goes to the Vault.

With the new duplicate protection program, I am finally finishing my sets of shocklands, Arclight Phoenixes and taking the hit by getting copies of Citywide Bust and other chaffy rares as well. It's worth it in the end, since I'll be ready when Arena Eternal arrives next fall. In the meantime, I have a ton of decks to play with too, and a modest amount of wildcards (5 Mythic, 0 Rare (I use these constantly...), 50 Uncommon and 4 Common). I've managed to build mono-red, green Stompy, various Boros builds and I think a Mardu and Thousand Year Storm and Izzet Drakes. That's from playing two or three months.

Try to build my Golgari deck in real life here in Ottawa? YEah $45 CDN for a Carnage Tyrant...pass. I love that I get to play Standard and goofy formats whenever I want. It's a lot of fun and I'm learning about Standard along the way! Grin
