great cards:
1. docent of perfection was amazing! I went for a delver/prowess/flyer strategy. Went off with docent of perfection and attacked for 6+3+3+3 damage in one swing was pretty busted.
2. transformed aberrant researcher won me a very closed game. Sadly my pool lacked some efficient kill/burn spells...
3. bedlam reveler paying for a reduced cost and draws u 3 cards!
4. vexing scuttler amazing in this build
Things that underperformed:
1. bloodhall priest never had the trigger online as I lacked some discard outlet, should have cut it for a boon of emrakul
2. things that ping for 1 damage wasn't good enough in this environment
3. wretched gryff only mediocre
So I took my fast-food-chain deck to a small local tourney (12 players, non-sanctioned) yesterday, in Hong Kong. I will try to post the deck list later with a little analysis after the matches.
I lost all four games which sucked big times and I managed to combo out three times out these games, either during 3rd or 4th turn.
The major problem the deck's facing is its land ratio, which at the moment, is insufficient at only 16. I had had mana screw consistently throughout the matches which totally pissed me off. I think finding the critical land ratio should tremendously improve the stability of the deck!
chord of calling can be used since you can convoke the creature to then grab another with out using food chain mana.
@ tiny: food chain gives you plenty of mana.
@ ibraman: lose goy, coatl, silence and chant replace with bigger guys maybe deathforge shaman (15 mana kills) any large dude works too.
I personally prefer Glimpse of Nature to chord of calling.
Since once the engine gets started, you are likely to have only 1 or 2 creatures on the board coz you would be chaining creatures 1 by 1. To chord the smallest CMC cantrip creature from the deck, which is 2, you need 5 creatures on the board, that's only viable if deranged hermit is out.
Hi guys,
I'm surprised to find my thread has reemerged from the abyss... LOL
When I first posted it, nobody seems to care about it.
Well I have to admit it's not the best combo deck in Legacy, unlike the consistency of ANT...
But thanks again for all the new ideas!
Yes as for Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, I'm definitely gonna test it!
That way I might just take out Maga once and for all. Maybe a single of Kozilek, Butcher of Truth would be good becoz of the 4 card draw.
you will draw another 4 cards. The ability only fizzles if all the targets are illegal when it resolves, and top's ability has no target. if, some some reason, the ability said "put target artifact named "sensei's divining top" on top of your library, then draw a card" the other abilities would fizzle. Otherwise, you just perform all the actions that you can.
should you draw more than 1 card at once, one of the cards you draw will include the top itself.
If I put 5 copies of Top's 2nd ability onto the stack, do I draw a card, then put top on top, then draw another 4 cards because of the other triggers that I stacked up? Or do the other triggers fizzle.
Yea it works. It's a huge card draw engine if you have clock of omen, voltaic key, etc.
Yes it works. Your lands still produce the right color of mana and it's completely legal. Lattice simply let you use them as if they are any color you wish. That's why my sens triplet uses lattice so that I get to cast anything from opponent's hand, even I'm not in their colors.
And did it ever stop smelling? Mine stinks so bad I am trashing it for a cardboard box?
Oh yea I definitely notice this problem. I guess it's the smell of the glue. When I first got it, I noticed the smell was very strong. So I put it aside and let it ventilate for a week or so before I started using it. And now the smell isn't a problem anymore (it still has a tiny bit lingering). Overall I would say it's a good deck box and I like how easy it is with the magnetic closure (so much more convenient than Velcro closure of those ultra pro ones).

How much will it be?...
I would guess around $5?
