You are incorrect. Triggered abilities, like what the Zuberas have, use the stack and can be responded to. So they'll be able to respond to the triggered ability of the Zubera by playing the counterspell before they have to discard it. And the other forum on the Revival + Greed was incorrect. Targets are chosen (409.1c) before costs are paid (409.1h), so you cannot return any of the creatures you sacrifice with the Greed.

Both the Scepter and the Mirror make copies and allow you to play them. Since you are playing them, if you have already played that Epic spell, then you will not be able to play the copy. If the copy were put on the stack you could, but since you are playing them, you can't play the copy.

Or, if you're into complex situations that will probably never happen, you can do this: First off, start off with the Standstill not in play. Now, play the Naturalize. Respond with Shunt, targeting the Naturalize. In response, get the Standstill into play (like sac an Acadamy Rector or play it as an instant via Veldakin Orrery). Standstill comes into play. The Shunt resolves, and choose to have the Naturalize target the Standstill. Then Naturalize resolves, destroying Standstill.

Rare as it is, green has gotten it in the past (for example: Channel, Elvish Spirit Guide, and Channel the Suns). It's not in their part of the color pie anymore really, though.

Yes, it is still considered the same creature. And Kiki will create an exact copy of the card, so it will also copy the flip side. Note that the copy will not have any of the Ki counters on it. Assuming you manage to get 2 Ki counters on it, the ability will trigger at the end of turn and if you choose to, you can flip them both. If you do, they both die due to the Legendary rule.

  • posted a message on Ability against Spell
There is no such thing as 'speed' in Magic. Nothing really resolves faster than anything else.

    1. They cannot do that. Sacing the Frog is part of the cost of activating the ability. By the time they can respond, the Frog's ability is on the stack and the Frog is in the graveyard and there's nothing they can do.

    2. Same thing here. By the time they can respond, it's already tapped and the ability is on the stack, so Twiddle is useless here.

I will unfortunately not be going to the prerelease since I will be returning from St. Louis at that time.

Whoa, Nate is Buffy? o_O My worldview is shattered.

Hiya Nate! Come join me in the Rulings Mill!

Someone apparently hasn't been paying attention to me over at MTGNews (my custom, avatar, and location are all devoted to Buffy over there)

Definently not introducing myself. Nor am I using this as a test forum. Nope. Because that would be wrong.
