Just looking for some input on the version I am currently building. I really like splashing red in this deck as it gives you bolt, lavamancer, and electrolyze. Does anyone else have experience with the red splash? Anything that fits really well in those colors that I might be glancing over? I can post the list later as I'm on mobile now.
Also, let's not forget Slum Reaper. As good as things like reaper, arrester, sanctifier, black cat, etc. are, you can't run too many of them. I think the best way to go with Havengul are to throw in some toolbox creatures, and then run sets of things like Dungeon Geists, Resto Angels, Snappys, and then a few bombs for good measure. Also, I think the other key is to run 4 forbidden alchemy as well. That card is too good with lich to not play it.
I kind of like the idea of her with an Esper Heartless build. Dropping a turn 3 Lili, turn 4 Frost Titan, and then turn 4 Tamiyo seems like a good way to control someones board. then again though, I just enjoy heartless in general.
I have yet to design a sideboard for it, but there are many cards that I am considering that I would love some input on.
-Nephalia Drownyard: I might even consider milling myself if I have the Ooze in hand, but still unsure if I could effectively use it as a finisher.
-Phyrexian Rager: Seems good to draws some extra cards early on, and with HS is only B.
-Black Sun's Zenith: Strong against tokens, blacks sweeper, and with the lower amount of creatures I run, shouldn't hurt me too badly.
-Liliana of the Veil: I would like an answer to Geist of Saint Traft if it sticks somehow, which her -2 accomplishes, and her +1 is fine for me considering I am drawing a LOT and even want to have certain cards in my graveyard.
-Shelodred, the Whispering One/Rune Scarred Demon/Wurmcoil Engine: Does the combo version of the deck really need a huge bomb to lay down? Not sure, but alternate win cons can never hurt.
Recently (8 days ago) I went to PetCo to pick up something for my girlfriends guinea pig. While we were in there, I saw the Chinese Water Dragon enclosure and they looked awful. We asked one of the employees if it was dead and got the reply "Oh, yeah, that one's not doing too well, it's really stressed with so many animals being in there, he doesn't usually eat and every few days we will take him to the back to make it so he eats something." I decided that I would adopt that one the next day after getting everything set up for it because I felt so bad for it. When going to pick it up the next day after having everything set up, he went to grab it and he noticed its eye looked a little strange, and then reached for another one and its eye was also kind of puffy. I told him that I wanted to original one, and he obliged.
After a few days, I noticed on two occasions that its eye would randomly bulge out and get all cloudy for a few minutes and then it went back in. It did this again 2 days later and it looked REALLY bad, so I called an exotic vet near where I live. I took it in, and was told that it had TONS of parasites, but that it was treatable. He also said that this either came from the breeder or the store and had nothing to do with my care for it. A couple days later, I brought it in to PetCo, they took a copy of the vet invoice and told me to talk to the general manager the next day.
Today is that next day, and after calling them, I was told I did "the exact opposite of what I should have done, and I should have brought it into PetCo and returned it to them". Clearly I was not going to do that, as they are not treating their pets well at all, and I am wondering if anyone has had an encounter like this. I want a refund for the water dragon in addition to at least a partial to a whole refund of my vet bill. I am not sure as to the best way to go about this, and am looking for any advice.
Also, in case anyone was wondering, the lizard is getting better now and it being treated daily. It is looking WAY better than it originally did, and it rapidly healing.
Honestly, there are so many kinds of delicious teas out there, and I have an extensive collection, but honestly, nothing beats a cup of mint tea, it's refreshing, delicious hot or cold, and can be either sweetened or unsweetened, it's just really versatile. If I feel like putting effort into it, jasmine pearl tea is by far my favorite. In order to make it well though, you have to get the water to be the perfect temperature, and only let it steep for so long, but when you get it right, it is unbeatable.
That art looks really cool. I can't see it super clearly, but it reminds of what a virus looks like, with the kind of geometric look to it. Looks awesome!
Mill your own Phantasm into your Graveyard, either cast or Noxious Revival then cast Necrotic Ooze. If you run only one copy of Phntasm, you will mill your entire library right there when you activate the Oozes ability copying Phantasm. I imagine there are also some pretty sweet Ooze combos you can do by milling your entire library...
I think Mirror is much better in the case of this card. With Leveler you are basically saying COME AT ME BRO, and when they come at you and kill the maniac, it makes kittens cry. With MIRROR on the other hand you can be all "if it's cool with you or something bro, you could come at me, and I may or may not lose." Either way, fun card is fun.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I really like how funny it would be to land Warstorm Surge and go "Swing, activate, activate, activate, I win?". Either way, I love how this card works, and I love the flavor of it. All I am going to be thinking about right now is how to break it... Mirror Mad Pandemonium combo in modern?!?!?!
If anyone is interested in the game, I am not sure of the appropriate place to post the scans of the cards. There were innistrad story line postcards that were handed out randomly at the PAX party, and I managed to pick up 10 different ones (I believe there were only 10 given out). I can take pictures or scan them in when I am home, but if someone could PM me the appropriate place to post it, I would be much obliged
I gotta say, the most frustrating part about this video (I'm sure on purpose...) is that as soon as he brings up another card to the foreground, all the cards in the background come into focus. You can see the red berserker and the legendary book one clearest when he is holding up another card in front of it...
