Seems that most people think that the wall/silence combo is a bit "win more". I dont know, I like it personally.
You definitely need more win conditions. The wall combo isnt a deadlock, it can be wiggled around.
Tumble magnet doesent destroy itself when there are no more counters on it, so it with Sun Titan seems pretty terrible unless you are somehow sacking it yourself.
I love the Maze, its always the first target for Tectonic Edge if my opponents are running one. Its basically a man land with defender that activates for 4 with no way to kill it but a tec edge or LD. Granted, Tec edge is better in the deck and so I run 4/1
Etched Champion does avoid All is Dust, but for 3 less mana it does die to Day of Judgement. I dont see him becoming any more prominent than Sphinx of Jwar Isle, and his ability is limited to a deck running lots of artifacts.
I tried the clasp build with Venser and one of my games I was sitting with a Everflowing Chalice on board, Venser in hand, and didnt want to play him because I had no valuable targets for his ability. I went 1-1 against a Br aggro burn. The only thing I am missing is 1 Clasp and 1 Keg. I also felt like I rarely had targets in the gy for Sun Titan. Oh, I am also running 2 Brittle Effigy and 1 extra Stoic Rebuttal, but 2 less Deprive.
Actually, it is the real Standard because SOM isn't legal until this upcoming Saturday (launch day)... but yeah, that doesn't help us much with regard to preparing for rotation.
Everyone in my playgroup is preparing for playing new SOM decks for FNM this week. Im also fairly certain that my store owner said that the release was midnight on Thursday.
Ive been wanting to see people's thoughts on this as well, now that Venser, the Sojourner is out. Seems like the general idea floating around is this is a minimum 6 card switch out from our lists, and is it worth the risk?
Main point seems to be most Uw Control decks are already running 2 refuge, why not replace those with a land that just may come into play untapped? If not, its just going to provide the same mana fixing as a refuge, accept you wont gain one life. Is that worth it? I think so, but that's up to the individual player.

Also, what is your oppinion on Volition Reins? It would be much easier to cast with this mana you are producing.
