Actually, I suppose this is broken. If you untap with her, you can automatically take 4 time warps, and go from there.

As for the similarity to Liliana, I'm not seeing it. She's in completely different colors, +1s to search rather than -2, and the colors should make her play entirely differently from Liliana for the ultimate.

I think there's a small argument to be made for white in the original trilogy. His offer for Luke to join him was so they could rule the galaxy. I don't think his intention was to go around murdering, his goal as being emperor of the galaxy was to impose his version of order.

That being said, I also voted red/black. He seeks power for his own goals, no matter what that power costs him to attain.

    Sanii, Starborn 2URG
    Planeswalker - Sanii (M)
+1: Search your library for a land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped. Then shuffle your library.
+1: Search your library for an instant or sorcery spell, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library.
-7: You get an emblem with, "Whenever you tap a land for mana, add one mana to your mana pool of any type that land produced."
    3

Assuming the planeswalker background makes sense, is this card cohesive mechanically? Are the two +1's too similar? Is it appropriately costed, and do you think anyone would play this card?

Any other ideas for RUG planeswalker abilities?

I would love to run this with preordain/ponder etc. Card disadvantage? I don't think so!
But yeah, this is probably too strong.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I'm glad it's acceptable. Now I want to cascade into it with Shardless Agent!

Pretty simple concept. Elvish Visionary + blue = 2/2? Or, coiling oracle without the mana-ramping option allows it to be 2/2?

    DrawBear UG
    Creature - Mutant Bear
When DrawBear enters the battlefield, draw a card.
    2/2

Is this too pushed, or is it acceptable in today's standard?

Banding, rampage, phasing, plainswalk, shadow, maybe shroud.

Don't forget the sub-theme of "0: X, activate this ability only if ~ is unblocked, and ~ deals no combat damage this turn."

Hundred-handed one is a pretty sweet body for his cost, and being a 3/5, he should help you push towards the late game, where he'll get even bigger. I think it's good value, and the other cards don't really stand out to me. I think for other options, I'd be looking at the Ordeal of Purphoros and Rescue from the Underworld. However, I prefer a solid base of creatures before situational value like Rescue. That being said, I think Rescue is *pretty* good. An instant-speed reanimate trick could be a huge blowout.

Delve is a mechanical tie-in to an exile-matters block. Eats up your graveyard resources and turns them into exile. I don't know exactly what you're planning to do with exile interaction, so I'm not sure if it interacts well or not. It does have tension with cards that want to exile themselves instead, though. Shimmer creatures that exile themselves don't contribute towards your delve resources.

The sorcery needs to work somehow without counters, and I don't know how it could.

Well, with vanishing maybe not. Seems like suspend would work instead. Putting the sorcery in exile makes it use counters on one card, but difficult to interact with. Not an ideal solution for my set, but probably the cleanest implementation for the card design.

Okay, assuming the numbers are adjusted to a balanced equivalent, which is preferable? The Enchantment or Sorcery? On one hand, the enchantment can be interacted with more easily, but on the other, the sorcery takes a LOT of counters and is very messy.

Working on a boardwipe for a custom set with the Vanishing mechanic. I'm split between two iterations. All comments and input are welcome. The card is meant to represent the end of the plane itself as everything slowly fades away.

    Annihilation 5WWW
    Sorcery (M)
Put five time counters on each permanent without a time counter on it. If those permanents don’t have vanishing, they gain vanishing.

    or

    Annihilation 5WWW
    Enchantment (M)
    Vanishing 5
When the last time counter is removed from ~, each player sacrifices each permanent they control.

Which is the better design? And how is the mana cost? It's mythic because the event itself is mythic, but the effect should probably be at rare. Cost seems rather high for its playability, but I don't want cheap armageddons. Perhaps Vanishing 3 instead?

  • posted a message on BR Instant needs a name/flavor
Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. Alpha Fang, I definitely like the 'deals damage' wording better, not sure why I overlooked that. I think I'll settle with Blood Calling for the name in my file. Flavor text gets to be "Come at me broooooo," though Grin

I don't think the comparison to One with Nothing is warranted, though. This isn't strictly downside, because it forces your opponent to 'make a decision' they may not have wanted to make. Sure, they get unblocked attacks in, but if they were hiding behind Wall of Reverences or Wall of Denials, they probably didn't want to attack in the first place.

My biggest concern was with color pie and flavor, making sure it was cost correctly and made some sort of sense. Nobody likes spells that are just jumbles of effects; they need to make sense somehow. It seems like the consensus is that the flavor is correctly black-red, but a lot of people feel that it should be blue? I'll give it some thought, but I'd rather make the effect fit in black-red to go with the flavor than change the flavor.

I love a lot of blue in this pack, but I'm wary of people fighting over blue at this point. Taking the Marauder seems safe for color signals, and I'm pretty sure it's a strong card, particularly for draft. I wouldn't call it overrun, but it's a good finisher. Wonder if the minotaur lord would wheel or not.

  • posted a message on BR Instant needs a name/flavor
Does anyone have any name and flavor ideas for this spell? The effect seems RB to me, but I don't know exactly what kind of ritual/sacrificial magic would be appropriate.

    Name BR
    Instant (R)
Tap all creatures target player controls. Lose life equal to the total power of each creature tapped this way.

I was looking for a design that stole an attack step from your opponent by making take their attack right away. Useful for responding to things like Overrun, but probably too narrow to see any common play. Someone somewhere might like it, though.
