I am done with the website entirely. My situation was handled in a lousy way by the admin team and if they refuse to follow the rules that THEY have put in place, then I have no faith in the system.

Good luck to anyone that needs something resolved by the admin team.

So I am relatively new to PT and received a MP card...not remotely expensive, but still the principle upsets me as I have sent nothing but pristine cards. Further, I opened a case not including the admins and the response was piss poor. Overall I am not pleased with the site at the moment.

    Here is the correspondence...

I am happy to both provide pictures and let the admins handle this case. I am not paying for your mistake regardless. I am not paying for a stamp on a $1.25 card that you refused to send according to the rules. Thanks for the threat though. We could have handled this amicably, but you seem to refuse to.

Because if you don't give me point and refused to send it back that is mail fraud

It is scratched to high hell and the border shows significant whitening. Why do I have to cover the cost of a stamp to fix your mistake? I will alert an admin on this.

You can just send it back it then if the card isn't to your like all I know is I when by the Web sets grading and it's was lp if anything

I am pretty disappointed by the condition of the card. It is MP by Starcitygames standard (a general standard) and I was led to believe that the only accepted cards for this trading site are NM.

Pictures of the card in question:

What would be the right price to pay for play sets of each of the KTK fetches? Will they drop any further? I am thinking the following:

    Flooded Strand = $55
    Polluted Delta = $50
    Windswept Heath = $36
    Bloodstained Mire = $33
    Wooded Foothills = $34

I have been tinkering around with a similar concept deck recently. Though I am moving away from delver and more into burn and utilizing Soulfire Grand Master

Here is a rough list that I have started to develop, though have not tested yet, I have no idea if it is any good or not. I imagine the creature list needs a lot of improvement, but I think I will need to test it to see which creatures have the most value.

    I have a thought, Wilmheath.

I like to order from your shop. In fact I make use of your wishlist and keep track of harder to find cards there. However, when one of my wishlist cards comes in to stock, I get an email telling me so and then it is removed from my wishlist. I don't have the time or inclination to order most cards the moment the come in and would prefer to keep my wishlist properly represented so that when I do make a purchase, I can find all of the cards I want in that place. Is that doable?

    TIA,
    Dave

Thanks for the replies all, I ended up selling a little bit more than half of my cards and did better than buylist for them.

I think I have not provided enough information. Sorry all.

I think there is a confusion here. When I say buy list prices, those are the prices I can get from selling to big online shops...

Yeah, I am not going to have an asking price, but at the same time I want to know what is a reasonable end point for negotiations. I won't accept less than 4300 as I am not in a rush to sell and I can get that for about 30% of the cards totaling maybe 75% of the value with little effort.

How much should I ask from a dealer for my collection? I know this is difficult to ask without providing a list, but I have a lot of highly valuable cards (duals, goyfs, D&T and Merfolk staples, etc), little to no chaff and it is sorted. If it helps, TCG mid is a bit over 10K and TCG low is over 8k for 720 cards.

Buy list on the cards that I can get >$10 (as in the buy list price is 10$ and over between Capefear games, scg and cardkingdom) comes to over $4300 and there are a ton of cards worth between $3-10 buy list prices. I have accounted for condition on the buy list pricing.

To clarify, with the information provided - ignoring the $3-10 buy list priced cards, what is a fair price?

    TIA,
    Dave

I see that you are a bit sensitive to any talk about SCG from that thread. I get it though, I didn't see his post because I haven't gone in that thread knowing that it was going to be a tired and stupid argument.

To clarify, I am not making any judgment positive or negative on SCG with my observation. I thought it was interesting that unlike most staples that spike, it seems that fetches have hit their relative peak for now and are settling lower. An observation that seems particularly relevant to the discussion in this thread.

OK, here's a trade that might generate some controversy.

    Pile A:
    3x Verdant Catacomb
    1x Scalding Tarn

    Pile B:
2x Super Minty Force of Will

Pile A obviously is obviously worth a lot more, but forces are due for a spike any week now to match their wasteland counterparts and fetches are going to be reprinted anyways. At the same time, Pile A has so much more value currently, but Force of Wills are hard to come by in trades, especially minty ones. Thoughts please?

You can currently trade in those fetches for $180 or $216 to Cape Fear Games, they have minty FOW's for $100. You are giving up way too much for those in a private trade.

If Fetches are five fetches are reprinted in a large set, the price will drop. At $40/$25 you are predicting the only thing people will want from this set is fetches, as on avg you will get about 3 fetches per box. So, box value on fetches alone would be ~$75. Who wouldn't buy boxes?

They will drop, probably to $20 or below. While a set is in print, WotC will meet demand, so at that time fetches will be able to drop pretty far, If for some reason the set they are reprinted in is not the most opened set in history, then all product will be opened by stores to sell as singles. If avg box price is less than cost, stores have more reason to open up for singles.

If your talking about current art fetches dropping, there is all new factors, that will be at work. Newer fetches should be harder to counterfeit, due to new card features. Will people be willing to pay for this? If so, I think the current and nee fetches will equal out, maybe a 10%-20% premium for the older fetches. If people don't like the appearance of the new cards, then I think old fetches could demand as much as 50% more than new fetches, if the art is also worse, then maybe up to 75% more. I don't see a scenario where people currently buying fetches don't lose at least half the money they put in. For their sake, hope they enjoy, playing their decks now.

Couldn't agree more. I am down to my last few fetches that I am actively looking to trade. As has been noted throughout the thread, there may still be room for growth on the fetches until reprint, but I am more than happy with the profit to be had right now.

Edit: Just saw something interesting. Both Cape Fear Games and SCG have lowered their buy price on Misty Rainforest and Scalding Tarn to $60 at CFG and $50 at SCG. That is a pretty significant drop from the $70 they were both at a few weeks ago.

I also think a reprint is likely, but I increasingly don't think a reprint is going to drop the price that much, considering the number of people who would buy fetches if they dropped even a little, or are waiting but planning to buy them after a reprint, or sold them to buy back in at that point; it seems a reprint may raise demand more than supply a la Modern Masters! It would also either be in a highly limited product that would only marginally increase the supply or in a standard legal set that would open them to new demand from Standard players rather than go exclusively to modern/legacy.

Even if fetches do go down in price, if that causes more people to break in, the other staples will go up so the net cost of a deck won't drop much either.

I somewhat disagree with this. I am firmly of the belief that they will reprint all 10 fetches because the best way to lower the price is to reduce demand. If you think about it, the Zen fetches are as high as they are because they are the only legal fetches in Modern. If/when they add the Onslaught fetches, then there will be twice as many options for the same number of decks (in theory) which will reduce the need on the Zen fetches somewhat proportionally. There is no value in Legacy, where they are all legal, to running the old fetches over the new ones unless they are on color. This is what should happen in Modern as well, except that in Modern there is a greater incentive to run basics because of the life cost of shocks. Thus, on color fetches will be even more important.

To be clear, I am not predicting $10 fetches, but I think that $40/25 for the blue and non-blue is not an unreasonable place for them to drop to.

Why don't you sleeve all of your decks with the same sleeves (have a different colored sleeve for each general to tell them apart) and then just use proxy cards as a place holder? I do this and it works quite well, it also makes replacing sleeves very simple and cost effective.
