I threw together a casual multiplayer deck using Savra, Queen of the Golgari and Lyzolda, the Blood Witch. It is a fun deck to play and it has a surprising ability to reuse cards and make the game a struggle for opponents.
This is something I threw together with what I have. I have no budget i can use to get cards at the moment. I had Gravepact in the deck but it wasn't really necessary and I had a hard time casting it. Golgari Guildmage Is a little expensive to activate his ability and I am looking for a viable replacement that will allow me to use as little mana as i can to return creatures to my hand. returning them to play is good but with Bloodbond March Having to recast them is something i need to keep the deck working the way I want it.
Recurring creatures like Gravecrawler is avoided because I would like to be able to use Lyzolda and Savra as much as I can. This deck is rather fun to play and has won more than I thought it would. I am open to suggestions to help the deck.
My favortite is my Savra, Queen of the Golgari deck. It is a fun multiplayer deck that is built to just reuse Savra's ability and give my opponents a run for their deck. It doens't have any RTR cards in it due to budget issues but it is fun nonetheless.
I have a question i am having a hard time finding the answer to. Say I have 2 Abyssal Gatekeepers on the board and my opponent has a creature with undying, say Young Wolf. He attacks and I block with a gatekeeper and he throws a giant growthon his wolf. When my Gatekeeper dies, i can choose to sacrifice my other gatekeeper. So here is the question. Does his wolf die, come back do to the undying trigger then die to the second? I am not at all sure what happens here.
Here is the situation. I have a match with two friends and they are on a team against me, Kind of like archenemy without the oversized cards to deal with. I have Silent Arbiter on the battlefield. Do they each get to attack with one creature or can just one creature attack altogether?
I am not sure I want to keep in the Perilous Myr/Krark-Clan Ironworks combo however and just focus on the Grinding Station. I though about splashin in another color such as red for Grapeshot and ignite memories or black for tendrils of Agony but I could never get it to come out quite right. It is a fun little deck and having a turn 4 win is fairly nice.
Dying Means it goes from the battlefield to the graveyard. Lethal damage makes a creature die. DoJ makes a creature die. Sacrificing makes a creature die. How it dies makes no difference. as long as it goes to the graveyard and not removed from the game by replacement effects from cards such as Yamabushi's Storm.
Disciple of the Vault and a sac outlet is a very painful way to deal with players in a multiplayer setting. You could get all your creatures out with the DotV with Protean hulk. Get a sac method in there and have mass life loss then you can mop up with Tendrils. the only thing I can think of is Ashnod's Altar. However it is a little slower so It may not be fast enough for the deck.
I have a similar deck that uses Valor Made Real to make better use of the Engulfing Slagwurm and Alaborn Zealot. An opponent attacks you with a few large creatures play Valor Made Real on the slagwurm and block.
If you can deal with the cumulative upkeep, Reality Twist is nasty unless they are playing blue. It does, However need Eon Hub to make it worth it. Maybe Mana Web would be ok. Not sure if Reality twist would be a decent thing though It does take 2 cards to make it work, but when it is out it is hard to deal with it.
Grim Discovery is useful with your Gargoyle Castle. It lets you net a creature back from the GY and you can reuse the Castle again. A friend of mine uses that and it gets really annoying.
Here is a deck I just threw together with what I had. It uses hellkite igniter, first strike such as Viridian Claw and Bladed Pinions to give slash panthers first strike, and fling to toss my hellkite after I deal a sizeable blow. It isn't a perfect deck at all and it isn't meant to be taken to any tournaments. I would however be up for Ideas to make it faster.
I am thinking of maybe adding Dust Coronas and taking out Furnace Scamp. That would narrow the ability of my opponent to be able to block Hellkite Igniter to creatures with reach.
