could maybe just be a dumb alternate win con to a deck like runeflare trap or jacerator that makes them draw a ton of cards. Punishing someone for going to their cleanup phase is kind of funny lol.
mm yeah id probably just take out the runeflare traps altogether and go for like.. hellspark elemental hes basically 2 incinerates (unearth) and is damn good.
Early Game: Before you can cast baneslayer with no acceleration
Mid game: Between when you could cast baneslayer with no acceleration and when you could cast 2 baneslayers with no acceleration
Late game: After that
I think any deck thats running Hada Freeblade or Elite Vanguard will quickly make room for Student of Warfare.
This guy is absolutely ridiculous. I think someone said that not even Legacy can pump out a creature this strong this quickly on turn 2. (The most common strong creature turn 2 in legacy is Wild Nactal at 3/3).
tendrils will probably never kill anything with 4 swamps in the deck..i would probably take those out for some wall of omens, it draw and u have a blocker if need be or targets to vendetta or hideous end urself if need be.
nice man looking pretty good, ive wanted to play with creeping tar pits since it came out.. id say agony warp is pretty solid and consume the meek kills the turtle, if you play with it (im personally not a huge fan of the turtle but thats just me), definitely cross unified will of that list. consuming vapors is pretty good.
What's everyone's thoughts on gelatinous genesis? It really seems like a card that can win games on its own, pumping 7 or 9 mana into it.
I'm not sold on vengevine, I really don't see us casting boatloads of dudes every turn and frankly I'd rather use those slots for ramp and fat a la terra stomper.
also I think growth spasm might be a good card for us. It's 3 mana for a land and one mana we can pop for other things later.
Here's the build I'm looking at. I'm less concerned about turn 2 baloth and more about turn 3 or 4 terra stomper.
I can't be certain but you might want to test khalni hydra in your build, with the khalni gardens and 8 1 drop elves, 4 of them not being able to ramp right away, khalni hydra will be able to come out before terra stomper does, although it can be countered which is obviously relevant with U/W control running rampant. Still though it could be worth looking into, id say test it out. (playing a khalni hydra for 0 to test if they have counters the turn you want to play ulamog seems OK to me :P)
I went undefeated at my sealed prerelease, went 8-2 in games altogether, and 7 of my wins and 1 of my losses were entirely decided by Ulamog's Crusher (I had 2 in my pool, and built B/R with good removal and so-so guys).
This format is really silly. It's just a race to 8 mana.
hmm maybe thats y i went undefeated since i won every game before turn 8 ^^ aggro in a slow format is ftw. take ur eldrazi, ill take all the 1 drops ull fivw me. (i realize turn 8 is not the same as 8 mana, but it was usually irrelevant if they played an eldrazi as i had mostly fliers and a traitorous instinct for it ;))
high cmc equipments will NOT work in this deck.. if this deck is not fast enough any burn kill all of your creatures and if its too slow then control will be ready to kill you.. trust machete and adventuring gear are necessary and should be the only equipment you run, maybe 3 and 2 or 3 and 3 definitely no more than that, steppe lynx is also necessary, ive tested all different type of this deck with and without whispersilk cloak and such, and let me tell you. it needs to be as FAST as possible.. meaning low CMC everything. Also emeria the sky ruin is irrelevant in this deck. it comes into play tapped with is really bad, and you will likely lose by turn 8 if you havnt won, and theres no room for kor cartographer, possibly knight of the white orchid, but that didnt work as well as planned when i tested it. A likely possible adition would be student of warfare, and since there are so many one drops now i would probably at least replace my 2 conquerors pledge's with ranger of eos is a very likely change as well. Also obviously brave the elements and i will try the new protect spell since usually its 1 or 2 creatures that ur REALLY trying to protect and who u also want swinging in ftw the next turn (kor duelist namebly) i found honor of the pure to be mediocre but path is a necessity, which could potentially b replaced by oust now since u want to kill them asap, u dont want them getting extra land drops. This deck is a lot of fun to play, but it is still sadly fairly casual, but with roe it may be worth going back and doing more testing.
hope this helps
o yeah basilisk collar as a 2 of also. dont have the deck in front of me >.<
doesnt seem too bad, going bant would be mostly for rafiq.. but green white could pull it off fo sho.
Mid game: Between when you could cast baneslayer with no acceleration and when you could cast 2 baneslayers with no acceleration
Late game: After that
lol
err... Phyrexian Dreadnought + stifle on turn one or two.. 12/12 trample... boy.. this is awkward..
Student of warfare is going to be an auto 4 of in my white weenie build.
just cascading into a counterspell would suck >.<
