Just a current attempt at a GB Midrange Build using Marvel as a potential wincon but not the all in variant. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I appreciate the replies, here is some of the reasoning. In no way does this invalidate the advice, I think it pretty good, merely discussing the purposes.

Chain Reaction - Metawise I've noticed a bit of a problem with Thought Hemorrhage and Mind Funeral/Haunting Echoes combo. I felt that running the Chain might enable me to respond to the problem of losing my Day capabilities. It also allows for a sweeper should Iona Ramp lock out one of the colors.

Pyromancer - I'd have to disagree completely, which is why I run three, it itself is a wincon. Pyromancer doesn't hit until you have a few instants in the graveyard. I don't require it in play till fourth turn, and I can ramp it online that very same turn with my instants running such low costs.

Deathforge - I appreciate the advice, and worth paying attention to. I liked the ability to enable a board presence while doing damage with multikicker. True it can be countered (unlike the Banefire), however it allows for me to run lower on my sorceries while enjoying the sorcery effect and placing a creature. Hem hawing on it.

Admonition - I'd considered the triple problem, and will probably replace this.

Bogardan Hellkite - Once again an extra enjoyment of damage while placing a board presence. Any suggestions for the creature replacements?

Silence - I'd have to say this is an underrated card. It's potential for aggresion, especially when understanding an opponents deck, is amazing. Putting the halt to built in combos that you know are being run is a beauty, and should you be facing a control deck with Pyromancer online they better pray they have a double negative, otherwise they get shut down. Splice onto it the ability to silence your opponent during your own upkeep, forcing them to just accept it instead of wasting a counter so that you can play your own turn out is just gravy.

The balance of planeswalkers does seem an issue, I'd adore running more Chandra and Adjani, but not sure where to make the proper cuts to run a deck as balanced as this. Creature suggestions are a plus, I appreciate it. Thanks for all the good advice.

Old hat at playing, new to deck building for standard. Tested against a few decks but looking at how the Meta swings. Overall the build looks good but I'd appreciate some comments. Sideboard is in the works. Any thoughts?

True, but that's what Brave the Elements, Negate, and Flashfreeze are for.

True, I can see that, but from what I was noting latest build had Brave sideboard, and you're holding back the mana to use it for that turn. If RDW hasn't put you on the defensive by turn 4 then they are running it terrible, terrible. Not saying the deck isn't good, I'm loving it during playtesting phases. Just trying to balance first that opening aggro...

Once opening aggro is dealt with, Gibantic swings in for brutality. I took a 14 pt Noble Hierarch to the face courtesy of Mogg Fanatic.

RDW should die pretty terribly to Deft Duelist, it has in testing - and there's not much they can do about it. Rhox Warmonk is also kind of a house. Espescially with a gigantiform.

Low casting earthquakes settle that round easily. Playstyle just has to differ against it. Deft Duelist hits the playing field, and RDW has out say a Goblin Guide/Plated Geopede. Landfall brings the Geopede up out of range, a one point earthquake kills the board save for RDW's creatures, and the smashing continues. It's just an alternate response to the Deft Duelist and Noble Hierarch sitting on the board.

Not so sure about RDW losing to this deck. Testing with the current build against an RDW with beginning ramp leaves Gibantic in a bad position by turn four. Any direct damage at that point settles the game for RDW. Least from what I've been seeing.
