Doublt it, they'll take out Ravager, thats is, not the lands, not Disciple, Ravager, thats it, that way affinity needs a new, more expansive sacing tool which doesn't destroy their opponent after its done.
Lets see, cards for Betrayers...well, here's my thought for Terashi
Terashi, Radiance of the Sun - 4WWW
Legendary Creature - Spirit
Flying, Protection from all colours.
Whenever you play a spirit or arcane spell, you may search your library for any card with terashi in its name and play it without playing its mana cost, shuffle your library.
4/4
Choryo, The Flowing River - 1UU
Legendary Creature - Human Wizard
Tap: Return target creature to its owners hand.
0/2
Michiko, Herald of Unity - 2WW
Legendary Creature - Human
Prevent all damage dealt to and by Michiko.
Whenever a spirit is destroyed, search your graveyard for a non spirit and put it into your hand.
Whenever a non spirit is destroyed, Search your graveyard for a spirit and put it into your hand.
Mephidross Vampire was the only vamp in Mirrodin, and past Torment they were majorly shafted if I recall.
I think we really need to think about what is outside Ravicna....
I think that this set really is a set about mono coloured-ness, so lets see...
Blue - The Ocean, Blue will be the Oceans surrounding Ravicna that flood their ports and batter their walls, levithan, kraken, the big nasties of the water that everyone fears, hehe, and pirates, pirates sound like an awesome fit here.
Green - The woods around Ravicna, the creatures which seduce and draw morals into their depths, druids, elves, etc, plus all the fuzzy woodland creatures and wolves n all that.
Red - I'd say this will be on a mountain outside of Ravicna, full of bandits and griffins and dragons whom plague the city, basically, a forebodding peak of enemies of Ravicna who constantly try to ambush Ravicna's inhabitants.
Black - I think black may get a betrayal theme in this set, werewolves, vampires, zombies, just people within Ravicna going baaaaad, 'so mainly it'll prolly have an undercover operative theme, with a lil fortress tower outside the City which they work from plotting against Ravicna.
White - Ravicna itself, Merchants, Humans, Soldiers, Lords, Walls, your average joe's who the world seems to be agains.
Well, yeah, thats my thought I guess, lol, hope I said something worthwhile.
It says in Monday's article that Okagachi may be too big to get his own card, but there's a card which represents him dropping in to say hello.. there's our gold card, lol
It also says he isn't happy so its an aggresive card, maybe an enchantment
This thing has LOTS of trees growing on it. I figure this is a kami of an entire forest?
Doesn't that actually quite resemble Kodama of the East Tree? Can anybody pull up the descriptions but apparently its like its "Everywhere at once"
EDIT: On second thought NO, the energy objects displayed on Kodama's Might (west) and Kodama's Reach (East) are TOTALLY different, this ain't a Kodama..
Now I'm VERY eager to get the story on the red fish thing, cuz I think it most definately is the Akki Patron.
So seeing how these Patrons accept sacrifices, well, mouth, we know that, but how do the Akki choose suitable sacrifices to be taken by the Patrons?
That, should be interesting..
I think, I dunno, I don't see the moonfolk sacrificing each other for any reason, how DO the sacrifices get chosen, maybe thats why they decided to use the Akki, the Nezumi got highlighted, second most reckless are the goblins, so how do the goblins choose?
Aw yeah tis too, lol, whoops forgot bout that, spose ur right it is on the rat deck...
haha! well lets think
I think that from what can be told, they will be different to some degree, look at the bringers
we have a rhino, a dinosaur looking thing, a bullish minotaur, a spectre aannd, gosh who knows what the black one is...lol
it just sorta seems...I dunno, right, the whole screaming faces thing, its size, its similarity to the kitsune patron (this is green blob thing jelly worm) I could see it being the orochi patron, plus it does outline their fangs and snakelikeness.
So it could be debated each of the Patrons outlines a strong feature of their race...
Kitsune - Claws
Orichi - Fangs
Nezumi - Teeth
Moonfolk - errmm
Akki - aarrmm
ok, lets just say, they're all giant n well, I dunno, we can't really say how close in appearence the Patrons will be ei?
How does this look like a Kitsune? Please explain?
I say that the Green worm could be the patron because we always considered that they would bear similarity to their rightful races rather than be huge forces of destruction with huge blob forms...
I would actually see the blue dragon more as the dragon which assisted Kiki Jiki, its sorta transparent, which explains why the Soratami couldn't see it comin up to the clouds, n it just has that illusiony feel to it.
Oh, that thing on the Patron of the Nezumi thread, its on the cover of a theme deck, and not the rat deck, sorta blows that one outta the water....
Wha? Kodama of the west tree? Flying killer? Pffft, that would make it a spider! Look at Kodama's might, we have a picture of west tree, it has mushrooms floatin round it! It just seems a lil whacked, u know, dun make much sense. We have a description n from the description it doesn't fit flavour, I dun think west tree cares about anything but power, so naw to the second.
The first two though, wow, they seem real enough, the second one is a lil strange, but makes sense, works well with the remove from game creatures, great for white control.
Kodama - Fake
Other 2...iffy, dunno, they make sense, but its hard to say, the second one seems unstopably powerful with Samurai of the Pale Curtain, so I'm thinkin a lil fakish, but possibly real, don't know, I dun wanna jump the gun.....
I was browsin through mtgnews for a sec, I like to check whats being regurgitated over there, its rather sad, actually, anyways, I came across this scan..
It only really interested me because it bears a striking similarity to our beloved green blob worm with the screamin faces or so I've been told...
Thus, I came to the conclusion that these worm like creatures may be major spirits who consume souls of one of the 5 tribes people to serve them as the dragons do the humans (see Jugan's story).
It goes VERY well with the idea of soul consumption, and I would guess that the green blob thing has a very similar ability to Fangren Firstborn....
So, is it safe to say that the Patrons are...well, big blob worms??
Could they be printing legends in the core set with core story legends making an appearence?
Dunno, but well, yep

Still, all 4 creatures have VERY large mouths, so I think that leaves room for them to be all connected on that note
haha! well lets think

cards that abuse the crystal
Kumano

and MANY more, those just come to mind
