Is there anywhere I can see how many QPs I have? I know mtgonline has the top 150(?) but I'm not in that! I'm new and I have ~5 I think, but I'd like to know for certain.

If anyone knows how I can find this out thank you a bunch!

For those of you saying that the death of 1 is of such little value compared to the billions you could help; I ask you, what is your minimum amount of lives you would be willing to take to 'help' the world? 1/~7billion is basically equal to 2/~7billion right? What about 3 or 10? Would you personally kill 2000 people that (and I assume this from the op) the man with the suitcase has chosen? Let's say that all those people had something in common; a trait, or shared religion.

Even more hypothetically, I guess, what if the year were 1941 and you lived in central Europe. A man offers you $100 billion to kill a person, or a few people, would you do it? I think that no matter how 'pure' your motives are for this killing(s) you would never recover from the foresight of what you have done.

My real point is that you don't know the man with the suitcase's intentions. While I would say no to all 3 situations due to moral issues I have, if I didn't have them I would be thinking about this first and foremost.

Also I would never be able to argue with saying that 1 death is o.k. since it helps 1 million or billion people simply because anything less than half of the world being discarded for the help of more than half, is the exact same argument. From this I would hope no one is willing to wipe out ~3.5 billion people for the prosperity of ~3.5+ billion people.

I always say 'she' for Jace for some reason, and then I catch myself. But yea, I usually just base what I call it off the card. If it is a beast however I think I usually say 'he' (if I say anything at all)

I dont really like the current build you have up, but that may just be me,
tezz seems almost as forced as blue at all in this build. If it were me, I would
try something along the lines of:

Also, as far as lands are concerned, probably shouldn't run 4 lava claw reaches. That guy is more of a liability than anything. Take to heart that I have not tested this list or even thought about it all that much. Posted off the top of my head what I thought would be pretty good. Hope for some feedback.

  • posted a message on [Official Thread] UW Control
Does anyone think that the mirrior can be broken with a splash of black? Somewhat like what is happening in standard. With black you get thoughtseize, Inquisition of Kozilekk, and esper charm. Seems like it could destroy UW. But how would it fair against the rest of the meta, is the real question. What do you guys think?

  • posted a message on Jace vs. Stoneforge/Hawks
I was talking to someone earlier about a 'what if' situation (it is impossible, but was interesting to think about)

What if stoneforge&hawks couldn't be used in the same deck as Jace, TMS. Would Jace even be strong enough to combat that?

I say this meaning that Jace cannot be in a deck that concurrently has stoneforge and/or squadron hawks. If it were somehow restricted in that fashion.

I am under the opinion that Jace would revert back to the roll in had during BBE. Still a really good card, but not good enough to be seen as much in the top 8's of events. RUG would become an all-star deck in that meta if I were to take a guess. Anyways, that is my opinion, I want to hear what you all think! (and remember, this obviously can't happen, but what if it could?)

  • posted a message on [Aggro Inquiry] Stoneforge Mystic
My opinion of why Stoneforge Mystic doesn't seem as good as it used to is simple. Once upon a time there were mid-range decks in standard. This means that stoneforge had time to set something up, to create good situations. Cunning Sparkmage + Basilisk Collar or any creature with Behemoth Sledge + any creature. Now stoneforge gives extra reach to the boros decks, or an alternate way of tutoring for the quest deck.

Besides both of those options Stoneforge doesn't fit anywhere else. No midrange decks exist within the current meta and I can't envision that anything outside of Abyssal Persecutor decks being able to fill that void, to allow Stoneforge to become king of the equipment again.

  • posted a message on 2-hg and steel helkite
How does steel hellkite ability work in 2-hg (the last ability upon damage). If i attack playerA and then pay 3 mana for the last ability, does it destroy permanents from both players fields, or only the player that I attacked?

Sorry if someone already said this, but I just stumbled onto this forum and saw outrageousness. Using Tumble Magnet to lock down Frost Titan to stop them from land locking you, sounds like the worst idea ever. Now frosty is tapping down 2 lands and the magnet every turn. That is strictly worse in your scenario. Now to stop him from tapping your creature, I can see that, if you are set on mana.

  • posted a message on 2 Headed Giant Question
I wanted to know if anyone knows the interaction between pulse tracker and bloodchief ascension in 2hg. Does the Pulse Tracker's ability proc this at the beginning of the end step?

Also, just another off the top of my head question, safe passage wouldn't protect a player from lose of life effects right?

I can't wait to hear the rulings on these 2 questions, thanks!

  • posted a message on Rudest/worst MTG opponent you've ever played?
The rudest thing that has happened to me was at GP Houston, Rd1. The guys tells me to draw a hand before the round even starts. I was just like.. I haven't even shuffled yet... He proceed to call a judge to the table (you have to keep in mind, THE ROUND HADN"T EVEN STARTED YET). He tells the judge I won't draw a hand, in which the judge almost looked like he was going to laugh. Judge said nothing could be done, seeing as time hadn't started. So sad.. this was also my first gp. Was an overall great experience though, loved it, went 5-3 drop!

  • posted a message on States Results [Post all States results here!]
Played in the Texas tourny! This place was littered with primeval titans, like wow. Went 5-2 for 18th with UR D-Froce. I was planning on playing UW, but couldn't get the ratchet bombs in time for this. Expected a ton of aggro decks(elves, rdw, quest) +random infect jank, so I really wanted to punish these decks and decided to sleeve up d-force the day of. Literally had never played the deck before. All I have to say is called the meta pretty well, pyroclasm is a blowout in these matchups. I got a few "pyroclasm in the main deck...." from some of the aggro decks, made me happy Smile

Also didn't have koths, decided to side in some chandra nalaar.. and she is a house. Brought them in vs almost everything. Against quest/rdw/elves kills 2 creatures and fogs a turn. Against control when it's turn 7-12 and nothing has happened in game 2 do you really want to start the counter war before I try and land a jace? (I defiantly ulted twice with her vs UW)

I had a very fun weekend here at states and this deck has won me over. The only bad thing I'd say is this deck is pretty cold to turn 3 primeval titan, the sweepers it runs are just not helpful vs any titan really. Chandra can kill a normal casted one though, which was always a nice fallback. Smile

    Edit:
Also the craziest deck I played was the Myr Lord and Splinter Twin combo, never seen the deck before, tappedout turn 3.. cause he only had lord and 2 mana guy out. Next turn he goes infinite haste lords and I fold, haha. Let's just say I didn't let that happen again in the next 2 games. But it was hella fun nonetheless.

Basically the title says it all. Wondering if there are any regular/semi-regular legacy events near San Antonio. I really want to start playing legacy in a competitive environment.
