I remember when it first came out and everybody was going "WOW!" And all the goons at the card shop were going "That will never be played, since it's so expensive."
Ever since Dragonstorm dominated during Time Spiral standard, the development team has been very cautious about "free creature" effects. That probably factored into this card's cost.
And Dragonstorm just puts stuff into play, this casts things for you, for as many as you want.
I'm also going to throw out there the possibility that Garruk changes when one of your vampire/werewolves changes as well, giving him 5 loyalty abilities between the two sides, that have nothing to do with transforming him.
Part problem here is the argument over tribal as a concept, which would include lords dating way the hell back, and tribal as a card supertype, which was first introduced in Future Sight and then immediately picked back up in Lorwyn.
The Tribal Supertype is NOT evergreen, and as the lord abilities aren't an actual keyword, they aren't evergreen either.
WRONG! Tribal is not a super-type. It is its own card-type. I hope you're not a judge.
We need a quote from MaRo or some other D&D member if Tribal is or isn't evergreen, otherwise this is all just pointless.
Well done. That's what I get for being glib and not playing for a year during Zendikar/Rise.
You came in here to post that fully aware you've been away from the game for a year without double checking the facts? How magnanimous of you.
If Tribal isn't evergreen, then its damn close to it. And this is one of those sets where tribes seem to matter. Someone needs to ask Mark Rosewater et al about it.
Why do you think tribal will be in this set at all? They've spoiled all the mechanic of the set, new and old, and tribal was not one of those mechanics. We may have a Tribal Planeswalker someday, but it will not be in this set.
My understanding of WoTC's policy towards Tribal card-types, and I might be wrong here, is given that the very fact tribals are their own distinct card-type, as different as lands are to artifacts, and they have been used sparingly here and there throughout three blocks, that they may now be inferred as an evergreen card-type. They certainly are not a mechanic intended for a particular block and the game's designers might be free to use it in sets as they feel fit. Or I can be wrong. Either way, we'll know once the Oracle goes up what kind what to expect.
Unless Garruk Relentless is simply a legendary creature, it just seems appropriate he should be designated a werewolf in addition to being a Planeswalker. With a 0: ability you can activate to gain access to Black abilities he may have as a werewolf. That would be awesome. It's about high time Green has had something as broken as tarmogoyf.
Sweet! While I'm skeptical World enchantments are in Innistrad, I would be ecstatic seeing them return back, for at least a block. My introduction to this game was when World enchantments mattered.
Well, I didn't initially say it was there. Maybe someday.
And Dragonstorm just puts stuff into play, this casts things for you, for as many as you want.
Unfortunately, Rooftop Storm specifically states "Zombie creatures" so you can't. If it said Zombie cards, you would've been able.

I thought Volrath's Stronghold was in Tempest and so quickly glancing over the Reserved List, didn't see it. :banghead::banghead:
But, I don't care that much about it when it comes down to it.
