Until they go to Shadalar for real, I think Dominaria will be the best bet for slivers for sure, unless core set 2019 has some random ones. As much as I also wanted slivers, I figured they probably wouldn't go that route once the cat deck proved they weren't all 5 color sadly.
Frankly, I don't expect to see Slivers in Core 2019. If we see them in the foreseeable future it's probably in Dominaria.
And honestly, I don't know how I'd handle seeing more Shandalarian Slivers. I mean, Wizards has got to know how poorly they were received by us, right?
And that'll just pull my finances away from buying the ABUR dual lands I need and all of my target foil cards I need for my casual decks. Absolutely nothing I need or want here. Hard pass without a second thought.
I'm not down on Cats being one of the decks, it's a "eh, meh" choice for me but whatever I'm happy for those wanting Cats. But what I start to take umbrage with is they apparently made up a brand new character when they could have pulled it from flavor texts or Magic lore (unless I'm wrong and Arahbo IS referenced somewhere, I don't know I never cared to look that up).
How can this NOT be the "unexpected, yet somewhat popular tribe" we were hinted we were getting. This is the unexpected tribal deck. In that big C17 guesses thread, people probably only threw out Cats guesses about two dozen times or so.
If we get slivers in the next few blocks I would literally ***** my pants in joy.
They would have to be exactly the same Sliver lineage that both looks old school and affects all Slivers in play, if they are if they're coming back in Dominaria, then I'll join in with you welcoming them back!
2) There are going to be A LOT of new cards... which is a problem because Slivers has next to no design space left... they have done just about every sliver you can do...
No, this is utterly wrong. Sit me in a room by myself for a few hours and I can come up +25 brand new Slivers. Because this is a supplementary set where the cards are Vintage and Legacy legal only, and allowing me to use keywords long since abandoned and/or utilizing the Tribal card type (this is Vintage and Legacy legal, remember), than the brand new Slivers shoots to +32 Slivers right away.
I didn't know where to put this thought, and so I'll just put it here. Mirage was just more flavorful and memorable set and storyline in many more ways than Amonkhet and/or Hour Of Devastation is.
The problem I see with a deck flat out named Demons deck, as was brought up dozens of pages ago, is that something Walmart would sell? And no, Nissa Vs. Ob Nixilis or his commander deck, Sworn To Darkness, has no demonic mention in it's title.

I'll lose my mind if one of these is Slivers. If we're not getting Slivers, I can pretty much ignore C17. Either way, it'll work out for me.
