Quote from Nutrun »I post this topic because I heard some recent rumors about RL.
To reiterate
1. While I understand why you'd post here, I'd recommend putting this in Speculation or baseless speculation as the rumor mill itself no longer seems like the place for this type of thread. It's counterintuitive and annoying but I'm just letting you know in case you hear something else down the road that you want to verify.
2. There are two parts of every rumor: The content and the source. Hearing a claim from "someone" (or "multiple people"... or even "most people") is utterly meaningless if there is no source. There are plenty of people in America who probably think that another stimulus check is coming but I would not call that "a rumor" unless one of them is able to point to a solid source of information. This is what separates a rumor from speculation.
You said in the first post that you heard something might happen to the reserved list and asked if anyone could give a source. Nobody could. There is no identified source (even anonymous ones) that would explain why the people you are talkign to would have access to this information. Ergo, this is less "rumor" and more "speculation".
3. If your real question is "why are people talking about this now?", there are two reasons. First of all, this speculation literally never ends. There are always people talking about it for one reason or another. I have seen nothing to suggest a distinct "new wave" to rumors. Secondly, people who really want to believe something are more likely to latch onto the tiniest reasons to keep believing. Some people may see the approaching 30th anniversary and just think "If MTG ever broke the reserved list, it would be on a huge anniversary" (which you might recognize is not any sort of evidence). Other people may point to a post by Mark Rosewater within the past 2 weeks when he responded to a question about the RL by saying that breaking it was "An extreme longshot" instead of saying that it would "never" happen... but only after the person who asked the question specifically pointed out that Mark has made of point of "Never saying never" in the question, which doesn't exactly make this stick out as evidence, either.
So...
1. Future posts like this go in the speculation or baseless speculation section.
2. You asked if there was any evidence for this. There is not evidence for this at this time. Your question was answered.

Nah, Ghost-Lit Drifter had nothing to do with the channel mechanic getting into this set. If they wanted to test the waters with channel again, then Drifter maybe would have been in a set like MH1 or Battlebond. Coming out in a set only 7-8 months prior to Kamigawa doesn't give them any time to collect data, because sets are locked in so far in advance. This set was already finished by the time Ghost-Lit Drifter came out, so there's no way it was "just a test."

It also puts it into play untapped, which is neat!
*okay it's not technically endless, just however many Wastes you have in your library
...You mean 6/6, right?

This is objectively false. Green has been secondary in haste for a while now. Look at how many mono green creatures with haste have been printed in the past 10 years. The red and white haste creatures you're seeing are getting haste from being red, not from being white.

This is needlessly pedantic for something that's effectively going to function like multikicker 90+% of the time it's used.

It’s the sound of every UR Modern player replacing their Opts with Consider.

1. Maro's not going to acknowledge an unintended leak, either directly or indirectly, nor do I expect him to particularly care if one of the teasers is already known. He's not gonna be like "Oh damn, the dungeon mechanic was already leaked on the internet, guess I'd better choose another teaser instead"
2. Not every Magic player knows about the leak in the first place, it's only known by people who go beyond official sources to look for Magic-related news and info.
3. Quit complaining about one (1) of the teasers already being known when there are nearly 30 others to speculate about. He could just go back to giving us zero teasers, would you like that better?
What is the point of this post?
The teasers are meant to bring attention to certain things that will be in the set. They're meant to make the players speculate on exactly what the set will include that utilize these snippets of info, and how they'll do so. The way you're phrasing this, it sounds like you believe that the purpose of these teasers is to highlight things in this set that the game of Magic has never done before, and failing because we've already seen some tangential variant of the teased effects before.
"Exchange your hand and library? Yawn, we already saw a similar effect on Harness Infinity. What is even the point of telling us this?"
The point is to generate excitement and discussion.

There's an entire page about the Phyrexian language on the wiki.

Why, because Adrix and Nev can turn it into eight 9/9s? Lmao yeah sure, just like how Birgi, God of Storytelling would spike to $100 because Grinning Ignus was reprinted, right?
Janky Standard and EDH cards aren't going to spike 1,000+% just because of some wacky new card, unless their interaction is powerful, consistent, and broad enough to be integrated into a wide multitude of decks. The only exception to this that I've seen for Strixhaven is Chain of Smog as an infinite magecraft enabler, which is a card from a 19-year-old set that's only ever had a single printing. And even then, Chain of Smog is already starting to see some retraction.
I highly encourage people to think more critically before they jump to conclusions and make these goofy claims about bad cards becoming absurdly expensive staples.
