Janky Standard and EDH cards aren't going to spike 1,000+% just because of some wacky new card, unless their interaction is powerful, consistent, and broad enough to be integrated into a wide multitude of decks. The only exception to this that I've seen for Strixhaven is Chain of Smog as an infinite magecraft enabler, which is a card from a 19-year-old set that's only ever had a single printing. And even then, Chain of Smog is already starting to see some retraction.
I highly encourage people to think more critically before they jump to conclusions and make these goofy claims about bad cards becoming absurdly expensive staples.

That's more or less what you sound like from my perspective. You're free to disallow anyone with those cards from playing games with you, but I'm free to think that your playgroup is being whiny and immature for doing so.

Okay that's great. That's marvel. That's not wizards, and that's not magic.
Though magic already has $100 boosters and a large portion of the playerbase is vocally opposed to that practice already.

At best this thread is baseless speculation done in an inflammatory way, at worst... well we'll see.

As someone who's been playing since first years of Magic, and owns a playset of dual-lands as well as a few power cards, I'd be perfectly happy if WoTC dissolved the reserve list entirely and printed everything over and over. Look at MTGO where you can get a black lotus for $10. Magic is a game and everyone being able to play it makes the game better, not worse. Having card prices be a prohibitive factor to playing the game for the sake of collectors is a unhealthy for the game.

I'm glad that Wizards understands that we only ever put one of each basic land into our Magic: The Gathering decks.
