Hmm... Instead of swamp run Woodland Cemetery? Obviously this deck gets better when stomping grounds becomes legal and whatever gruul cards gatecrash brings.
Hey thanks, you are the first one to comment on the name :).
Challengfate LOVES NMD, and SHE will point you to the write up on him by Allies with Benefits linked on the op. if you are running him, try 2 at first. I was running 1 and think he is great, and works great when he lands, but always find myself wishing for a second.
I like the heartless summonig idea, tell me how that works. That opens up tree for us too, but makes me wish haunted gaurdian wasnt a 2/1, because then hed be a "free" defender. Hmm. ..going to look into that a bit
As for my deck list on the op, it is a little all over the place, but things are surprisingly synergistic. I have mana comboed into sphinxs rev, wigich usually results in a scoop, and once i mana comboed into stolen goods, copied with nivix guildmage... Thats was amazing, "im just gonna play your entire deck real quick, one sec..". Surprisingly, stolen goods has been a card that people HATE to see, ive nabbed tammy's with it, armada wurms, tusks...course there is less appealing targets as well, but anything taken with it is good. That with zealous scripts... Mmmmhmm...
How does your build far against aggro/ midrange/ control?
Are there any changes Kate has made to the deck? Sideboard choices?
Im also interested in the Heartless build but maybe its too much? The addition of black mana to the deck doesnt appeal to me.
When I saw Nivix guildmage + stolen goods it made me chuckle. Its really nice.
increasing confusion can be cast from the graveyard. and if we limit to blue green, by playing niv mizzet, need another color which is red
Well on the first post its updated with red so adding a Niv Mizzet isnt that far off. I really enjoy both win conditions it adds versatility to the deck.
Im going to try out challenged fate's deck this friday. Im wondering if he has any updates.....
Love the name of the deck BTW (currently watching it on netflix).
EDIT- Wondering if anyone has trouble with Aggro and what should we sideboard in to survive?
Misthollow Griffin might like a home in this deck. If there is a way to play it faster so you can get some beats in before you start exiling him that would be good.
That wasnt my list. It was a list Azi posted on SCG when they did a Deck vs Deck thing article (G/W aggro vs 5 color control) last week or a couple of days ago.
Looking at the list you posted it seems like he's just switching up the utility creatures, put back Rakdos's Return from his original build and switched up the SB cards.
Im still messing around with his original build with the addition of some charms and I still think Supreme Verdict is needed to survive the early game.
Ali Aintrazi has been doing realy well with 5C control variants, he played a version in baltimore this weekend. He has Door to nothingness in the sideboard to break open the long games. What do people think of this revelation?
Fell in love with the deck when I saw Ali do that deck tech with his original version.
I decided to try and build it (missing a few pieces but the core was there) loved what it did versus midrange and control. Aggro was a way different story. I basically laid down and took my beatings. Even sideboarding was sketchy.
His new list is awesome but I still question his aggro game. Curse IS necessary MB.
Im curently playing his original version with some of his new additions. I think Supreme Verdict is still needed along with Terminus. Im trying to figure out if I want charms in the deck. I think they add versatility (azorious charm, golgari charm, selensyia charm) versus creature decks (majority of LGS and much like others contributing to this thread).
Anyways I really want to continue this deck, the addition of Huntmasters makes me a little sad cause I dont have any but ill try to figure something out.
I cant tell you how much I agree with this after I posted it a few pages back. It really is a catch all card in this build since you already have creature kill.
Thats a deck from GP Charleston that got 14th place (i think) It includes all the planeswalkers you mentioned minus Jace. Im currently working on either improving the deck or messing with it. 14th place sounds pretty good though.....
Id be willing to help with a banner being made if you guys dont have anyone to do it. Shoot me a PM with what you want (images and wording) and how you want it to look. ill try to put something together in a couple of days.
I know your just starting but I think your mana base needs work. This deck has a really tough early game so being colored screwed the first couple of turns hurts I know you have mulch but farseek is better, its even more amazing with shocklands.
Im running a build very close to the link Jimmycolorado posted from GP Charleston. Heck that deck sparked my interest for this deck. Im not sure how it fares versus aggro or pure control ( I really wish there were some notes on matchs). Im wondering if Charms belong in the deck or not, azorious and golgari charm seem really good versus aggro.
I have a high interest in this deck after it beat me in a GP last weekend. I was so unprepared for this deck (didnt know it existed).
So the guy had the same kind of deck just slightly different card selections. He was running Angel of Serenity and Geist honored monk maybe more than one copy of growing ranks. He was also running Lingering Souls.
I would think Liliana of the Veil could find a home here instead of Liliana of Dark Realms. She's not budget friendly but she works.

Depends on how competitive you want to be. If I wanted to win some FNMs or had a major tournament coming up I would pump money into BR.
This deck is for kicks, but definitely could be a contender once the next set(s) get released.
EDIT- Im not trying to knock the GB scavenge train down, its just proven that B/R puts numbers up and wins tournaments.

AGREED.
At OP- you can build R/B its not cheap though. You need Geralf's Messenger Bonfire of the Damned Thundermaw Hellkite Dreadbore maybe Rakdos's Return. Thats pretty much it for the staple cards other than the lands for R/B.
