A New and Exciting Beginning

The End of an Era

Well, no one's posted in a while, so I guess I might as well say what I think is on everyone's mind.

In my experience, there is a certain point in each day where the amount the town benefits from prolonging day begins to diminish. Should the day continue onward from there past a certain length, its extension will provide no real good to the town. I think we've hit that point.

We're tired. I know I speak for more than myself when I say that it's about time we end the day. We've analyzed about all we can analyze, and it seems to me that, from recent posts at least, we're trying so hard to find an alternative lynch candidate aside from armlx that some of us are turning to details so minute, or skipping over details so obvious, that we start to drive ourselves away further from the mafia.

Guys, c'mon. Let's end day. This is meant to be a game, but two more days of this would not be fun, and would do us no good.

-the terrible weather weve been having

    What terrible weather exactly?

-several prophets said something along the line of 'the WWII generation will see the end'

Which prophets? Where? Which part of the Bible?

-several prophets also predicted the end would begin with bad weather, famine, etc. Revelations mentions the same

There's been bad weather and famine since the dawn of history. Nothing to the level of the end.

-the Mayan calendar abruptly ends on Dec 23, 2012, iirc

... And that means what exactly?

-Earth is supposed to be in for it asteroid-wise

Things hit the Earth all the time. It is inevitable something of significant size will hit the Earth at some point. However, this cannot be accurately predicted. Scientists frequently find massive asteroids/meteors that are large in the relative area of Earth (and note that relative means just that. Slight differences in velocity can make a big difference when applied to astronomical scales) that MIGHT hit Earth but, as one can tell by our presence here, have missed.

-I know people have been saying this for years, but to me it seems like there is increasing paranoia among experts in the field

There has never been a shortage of paranoia. And it is interesting that you sight experts in the field of the end of the world.

    - prophecy is msotly true

    Is it?

Oh, and you forgot: Under "No", the Day of Lavos was already supposed to happen in 1999. It didn't.

I am really going to try and see if I can come up with something more solid before we hit deadline. I just fear I won't have the time. I fear it will require hours and hours of readling and thinking, as opposed to the scattered minutes I usually get during the day.

If it really requires hours upon hours of reading and thinking, then odds are it's probably not a better case than the armlx one. Then again, we've got quite a few hours to play around with, so no pressure.

Why does this look like veiled instructions to mafia cronies to me? Am I the only one that thought this?

Doubt it, although even if it were, it's irrelevant anyway. armlx is, more likely than not, going to be lynched. Don't see any way that the mafia could save him if he were one of their own.

    God I love this game.

    (Rhinocero unvoted)

Yeah, like I said, I'm pretty bad at this.

Well, as one might expect, voting for someone MIA does nothing. I think MIA is a special state for NPCs, effectively dead in terms of game mechanics, but still around for storyline purposes. Then again, this game has proven that anything you think is true may be proven wrong, and usually within about half a day, so who knows what tomorrow may bring...

Well, two more votes to end day...

Before that happens, RafaelK? Out of curiosity, which character are you? It'd probably be best you keep the hint really subtle, as I'd rather we keep the true name of the comic on the low in case someone tries to claim to be part of a comic they're not. Like, is there a particular color other than green that one might associate with your character?

Well, also take into account, LJustus, that I'm notoriously bad at vote counting.

    Unofficial Vote Count:

9 Armlx-Rafaelk, Crippled_Fist, JCSuperstar, Rhinocero, fadeblue, draygn_mage, CropCircles, Highroller, LJustus

    1 Fayul-aurorasparrow
    1 Azrael-Axelrod
    1 draygn_mage-chamber

One more vote will end the day.

and Highroller, would your name just happen to involve:
    A rainbow,
    rats,
    a slice of pizza,
    angry pianos
    Watching the supranos (sp?)

... I'm neither a box of Lucky Charms, a rodent, nor am I Super Mario. Of these three things, I can assure you. (I don't have the slightest idea what you're hinting at.)

Hrm... I thought I had already voted armlx but a quick review of the events since Azrael's lynch-that-wasn't proves otherwise. Vote armlx. So, if I'm not wrong, we should be looking at:

    Unofficial Vote Count:

    8 Armlx-Rafaelk, Crippled_Fist, JCSuperstar, Rhinocero, fadeblue, draygn_mage, CropCircles, Highroller

    1 Matjoeman-LJustus
    1 Fayul-aurorasparrow
    1 Azrael-Axelrod

Does anybody else think that today's day kill was a vig(Miho)? And Kevin hasn't (or can't) kill today.

It worries me to have one of our information roles so easily grabbing at straws.

The thing is, Matjoeman, we can think all we want, but none of us have any kind of evidence to distinguish one theory from the other. (Or, at least most likely none of us do. This day has taught us that you never know what someone might turn out to know.)

With Azrael down, we see cases against:

    armlx: supported by RafaelK's information
RafaelK: in reaction to his voting armlx
fayul: On the grounds that she might be Kevin
draygn_mage: In reaction to his voting fayul

armlx, to me, is the only one that actually has any evidence. Not to mention it will yield a good amount of information. armlx has confirmed the PMs he has been accused of sending as opposed to denying them, but has not given any kind of justification for them, and shows no sign of ever doing so, claiming ignorance. If we're going to vote someone based on suspicious actions, I think armlx is as good a bet as we're going to find.

Axelrod: While I too am growing weary of how long the days are lasting in this game, I fail to see what better case out there it is that you site.

Somebody asked if Kevin could come up as innocent upon inspection. Hard to say. Kevin is protected by the Roarkes. The Roarkes own Sin City. They therefore own the police. Then again, Hartigan's a good cop. And Kevin's a murdering cannibal. So I don't think there's any possibility of Kevin coming up innocent from Hartigan's inspections. From there, in Azrael we trust.

    New theory

Kevin for some reason either can't or hasn't killed today.

Miho was a mason with some other of the girls who all had role info that Az was infact Dwight. I seem to recall them knowing him well. When I came out and said that Az=scum, which she knew to be incorrect, she tried to vig me.

Oh! I've got a better theory though. SorryGuy and chamber forced Miho to kill you, except they don't know that they did because the mafia are acting through them without them knowing!

... Matjoeman, c'mon. A theory is a hypothesis supported by evidence. What you're proposing is a random guess.

RafaelK, what strikes me as strange that I am also from the green comic. Except, my role NAME fits in perfectly with the flavor of my role ABILITY. For you to be a postal worker, even if it has nothing to do with your character, is weird. I'm not saying I'm doubting you, but it is unusual.

Is armlx a character from the green comic as well?

As far as I can tell, armlx is the only lead we have, so vote armlx. Not quite sure what else to say at this point. Unless anyone decides to hit the town with some new revelation, the day seems to have hit a dead end.

Some of the bands posted on some people's lists I just can't believe. U2? Aerosmith? C'mon...

I actually like Linkin Park. And I don't see what everyone has against Collision Course. Wow, LP decided to collaborate with another artist. *Day of Lavos begins"

I hate this genre commonly known as emo punk. This is one of the few instances I think hating an entire genre actually can be justified.

But I just would think it unlikely for Kevin to be a mason-type role.

Again, we don't know Kevin's the daykiller. The first day the daykiller killed in a manner resembling Kevin's method of killing. The second day involved ninja stars, which Kevin never used. Make of this what you will, as with most things in this game I'm at a loss for information.

HR: While I agree with you about AS in general, this time I'm going to have to side with him. It would be such enormously bad play for MJM to claim cop without any basis that I can't see him doing it. It's very possible that Az was a miller, after all, though the fact that his death didn't end the day makes you wonder what the point of it was.

That's exactly why I stated there were holes in my theory. I'm running through explanations in my head, but nothing can fully explain what is going on. I must say that I am floored as to Azrael's ability to create this game. Never has anything been so confusing.

I guess the only thing we can do is wait until Matjoeman's testimony before continuing on. Hopefully we might be able to catch a mafia yet.

because its utter foolishness for a mafia to claim cop then label someone as scum?

aurorasparrow, your ability to think that everyone in the entire game is town inspite of overwhelming evidence against is becoming infuriating.

    Quote from chamber »
    Azrael was a miller ****.

    What is a miller?

The only thing I can think of to explain this is that Matjoeman pulled a bluff, claiming inspector and attempting to get Azrael lynched given that I don't think anyone actually thought that Azrael would be town. But there are some holes in that theory I can't explain. Anyway, it's time for Matjoeman to fess up to what the hell's going on.

I am Hartigan, the cop. I did not write that message last night.

First of all I can get chamber's or SG's role info but it would cost me 2 of my night investigations so I'm not sure if it's worth it. Because every night I get a point, and I can at night spend a point to get someones alignment, or at day spend 2 points to get someones alignment/role name/abilities.

Second of all I know that 1. AS is town or godfather. 2. Az is scum. He was my better lynch target.

    Quote from Matjoeman »
Now I did get definite results on Az and AS. It gave me the flavor, and then the exact alignment in parentheses. Althought it did mention that he changed his face.

Matjoeman, can you give us any reason why we shouldn't lynch you right now?
