I remember the last time MaRo hinted about shocklands, that was back when he was making us think they'd be in M10. Funny, I opened up a lot of M10 and never saw one.
I remember when Oona, Queen of the Fae's art was shown and a lot of people here swore that it was FACT SENT BY THE GODS THEMSELVES that Oona would be a planeswalker. Yeah, how did that turn out?
Or that it was a GUARANTEED LOCK that Planeswalkers would be in Shadowmoor and Eventide. How many did you open? Despite getting a case for myself and helping break down 3 cases of each for the store, I didn't see any planeswalkers.
Hey, remember when someone made their first post to the forums talking about this new format called "over-extended" that WotC was going to announce any day now, and people were so desperate for it to happen that they completely ignored that it was from a newb with one post and helped proclaim it as fact?
Or how about when a store owner pulled a "the Helvault is 50 pounds" claim straight out of his arse, and even after the person posting it AND the store owner himself came on the thread and admitted it was made up, people were still rabidly citing it as fact?
Too many people on these forums are willing to take anything at face value. Then when those of us that have seen this happen over and over again say "hey, you may be right, but that's not confirmed," we get insulted, attacked, etc.
Now if Shocks are reprinted, I'll be happy. I can get the last 2 foil shocks I need for my cube. It'll drive pack sales and drafts, which will make the store I work at happy. It'll give modern a much-needed shot in the arm. Most evidence points towards reprinting them to be the logical thing to do.
However....
If they do, it'll be the first time ever that WotC has reprinted 10 in demand rares that have double digit values on them. Despite many of us wishing that WotC wouldn't cater to investors (I'm a collector, I collect, investors whine about the value of their cards), they do. That's the only stumbling block I see in this happening.

this set is total Commander garbage all together.
Quote from Elite_InquisitorBattle of Wits is an awful reprint. I understand the need for alternate wincons every now and then, but this?
Wizards, yes, the game might need such cards for team/commander/whatever type of players, but please keep this away from sets and put them into dedicated products instead. We had enough Archangel's Light...
Quote from CrimsonThe thing I hate about Battle of Wits is opening it in any pack I'll buy.
why couldn't they just reprint it in a Commander deck instead?

Actually come up with a decklist and then come back to this. As it stands, you're basically asking people to make you a deck.

Also, other alternatives:
Eidolon of Countless Battles
Gift of Orzhova
Armament of Nyx
