@brengera, what does your fantasy team look like? We can complain together X)

I honestly have no right to complain at this point. My team is:
    Luck/Schuab
    Forte/Peterson/Fred Jackson
    Wayne/Wallace/Moore/Desean
    Gates/Miller
    Dolphins/Giants D
    Matt Braynt

I'm 8-2 (1st place) in a big money league ($100 buy in). However this week I put in Luck instead of schaub, and with Peterson on bye and Fred Jackson out, I threw Danny woodhead into my lineup... Long story short I'm facing a team with 2 bye players and in a serious position to possibly loose the game. We are tied at 52 (lowest point total I've had in a while) and I have Forte to go, he has the bears Kicker... gunna be close. If I do win, the only other 7-3 team is going to loose this week so I would lock up #1 seed and 1st round bye in the playoffs, with a very good possibility of walking out with $650 for 1st place

therestless is a looser (don't worry, he won't see this)

Since we've gained a few new members since last year, I feel like I should ask:

can I complain about football/fantasy football here yet?

On a different note LOTS OF MAGIC UPDATES!!!

FNM was sealed RtR so I was there in a flash. Played a rakdos list with Chaos Imps and Utvara Hellkite, splashing blue for Izzet Charm x 2. Was a pretty good deck. Started 4-0 and lost the last 2 rounds to Vraska back to back :/ that card is hard to beat in limited! Walked out 5th and $15 so I get to draft for free next week (after Thanksgiving of course). My 6th sealed pack yielded a foil Overgrown Tomb so I made my money back on the day which was nice.

Saturday I did a RtR draft and it went pretty well. I had a nice little U/W deck going into pack 2. Light on removal but Pack 3 helped: Opened Angel of Serenity and got passed double Arrest. I can say the angel is one of the best bombs I've played with in a very long time. Won me a considerable amount of games. It was a $10 draft, so prize payout wasn't amazing, but opening a $20 card as well as going 4-0-1 drawing with the only other 4-0 was a pretty good day :-p Relatively high profit on the weekend.

Also I built my first standard deck in a while. Just a B/W flash deck that is actually a lot of fun to play. I really think Restoration Angel is my favorite card since Blightning :-p I'm having loads of fun playing. And while I'm on this roll, I'm gunna go make a BYOS deck. C ya :-p

I have to back out sadly, finals next week took basically all the time I had, couldn't come up with a usable deck in time :/

Ok, so lets go and assume that the format will be BYOS. All but one have voted for it.

Shall we discuss MWS v Cockatrice further?

I'd rather use MWS however I guess this would be a good time to learn Cockatrice :-p

    Quote from therestless
BYOS being the novel format that it is, would probably be good to give a second week for deck building.

    ^^ agreed

I'll put my vote in for BYOS.

Also, the mail was good to me today.
First three are for cube. Fourth was just to have.

Be interesting to know which card is on the sheet next to the turbine. Also is it foil? can't actually tell

Mox Tournament coming up this weekend and I'm playing Bant Control (List to come later) I really love the way that the deck plays and I'm looking forward to trying to win. I can't confirm it but I think that 2nd prize is a sealed Commander's arsenal. That'd be sweet Grin

I love hitting Mox's. The trade binders there are always amazing :-p

Back from an awesome weekend. More details at a later date, but there is business to discuss:

Like, the 3 way tie between Commander, BYOS, and Modern for the CMB tournament. You guys know the drill. Pick one this time. Again, I'll wait until later. Try to vote quickly if you can. I'd like to get this decided upon by the middle of the week if that is possible. That way we can continue our efforts to involve all clans and get official permission from the clan mods.

    Modern

Sooo... this weekend sounds fun. I'll wait for details I guess

Does anyone else still play paper D&D?

Every weekend. One of the only fun this I get to do with my schedule.

    Quote from Sir Auron25
Oh wow, I didn't know so many of you played. That's awesome. Just throwing out hypothetical situations here, but wouold anyone be interested in a CMB campaign done online? I have a few side stories that I wouldn't mind throwing out there.

Depending on the time commitment I wouldn't mind. It would be kind of convenient to have the game going on with 1 screen and me doing homework/code on the other Wink

Each episode is only 90 minutes so just cut down one the Football watching (I take we are talking NFL not soccer, if it is soccer just cut it out completely :D) or reduce your sleep by 90 mins a night for week there are only 6 episodes at the moment after all. Smile

That made me chuckle. Maybe I'll try to watch the series over thanksgiving then :-p

@Brengera: You have had it recommended to you 30 times and still not watched it. What are you waiting you for a engraved and signed invite? Go watch it now!!

Well... I'm a junior Computer engineering student that works close to full time in a biometrics research lab. I also spend Sundays watching football, the treasurer of my fraternity, and have a full time girlfriend (she hates that joke). I don't have that much time. In fact, a breakdown is:

    168 hours in a week:

62 hours working on homework/projects/exam studying in a computer lab
29 hours working in the research lab for work
18 hours of class (6.5 hours monday wednesday, 5 hours friday)
41 hours sleeping (5 hours a night on weekdays and 8 hours on weekends)

**The only reason I have this is because my friends didn't believe how much I do spend doing stuff, so I walked around with a journal 2 weeks ago.. was kind of fun, I plan to keep doing it and put together some breakdown to show my friends and family**

Don't take this as a complaint Wink I just have a lot of things I wanna do and watching a tv show isn't the highest on my list.

I do plan to watch at least a little for winter break when I go home Grin super excited, my professor gave me the full break off!! (last year I went home for Dec 20-Jan 4th because I had to work on a project to present at a biometrics convention for funding)

With all this Sherlock talk it reminds me that I've been told to watch the series about 30 times now. I've always been a giant fan of the books!

Also due to the possibles of spoilers I've skipped reading the last couple pages and I'm going to ask that everyone remember what the spoiler tags are for Wink (just in case)

See, you've only gone like a third of the way in on power, and even then you cut back some of it. Wink I'd think when discussing a [Powered] cube that's a list that unabashedly starts with Black Lotus, Time Walk, and Sol Ring.

nonono, the ones I listed were just the ones that we have actual cardboard for. The others are in, just proxied.

And we cut time vault too, forgot about that one
