Dec 25, 2009Pendle posted a message on Bogan PreviewI really like Mire, and as a fan (yes a fan) of phasing, I have no issues with it. It's actually really powerful, but in a completely balanced way. Also, you are completely right, Torranah's Seeker is badass in every way, and I want it. Beyond that, Bogan Scrag is ah-freaken'-mazing! I wish some of these cards were real, especially the mechanic itself. Keep up the great work!Posted in: Broken Blog

Dec 23, 2009Pendle posted a message on Caphium PreviewWait? How is that worded correctly? You has confused me. It literally says, "If you do look at the top 5 cards of your library. cards of your library. Put one on the top of your library and the rest on the bottom in any order.Posted in: Broken Blog
Without that extra "cards of your library" it would be right. Right?
But, beyond all that -- really, really nice preview. I still want some of these cards, especially mind bubble. -
Dec 23, 2009Pendle posted a message on Caphium PreviewWords do not describe how much I love Mind Bubble, it's really, really good. Some odd flavor in this preview, but it's a nice quirky kind, so I can boogie with it. Love Calling, though your card that demos it has the mistake, "...cards of your library. cards of your library." That, of course, is no biggie as it's just a preview. Really great cards.Posted in: Broken Blog

For the rest of the game, target creature you control cannot leave the battlefield. If that creature were to be removed from the battlefield, untap it instead. It gains vigilance until the end of turn.
Death doesn't suit you.

Such is her beauty that even humans openly seek her affection. Too bad vampire suitors don't like the competition.
Dubbed the Sanguine Seraph, Lorena Markov epitomizes beauty and grace amongst vampires. Though she was sired for her looks, it is Lorena's powers that have solidified her place in the Markov family. Her ability to manipulate mana and her increased ability to resist death, even by vampire standards, have earned Lorena much respect and even fear from her Markov brethren.
Lorena delights in having others do her dirty-work. She is highly manipulative and often uses her appearance to get what she wants. Lorena is insatiable, one pawn is never enough, in fact she must have countless puppets fulfilling her every desire in order to be satisfied.
Though self-obsessive and consumed by vanity, Lorena works tirelessly to further the Markov agenda. She and her progeny are especially adept at turning the tide in decisive battles, so that they end favorably for the Markov bloodline. Where Lorena goes, only death, not blood remains.
IIW:

Creature - Goblin
If ~ were to become blocked, you may have that blocking creature block another attacking creature you control instead.
Whenever ~ deals damage to an opponent, you may have that player discard a card at random.
2/2
He puts his friends in all the right places.
Thoughts? I wanted to make something that would fit snugly into an auntie wort deck.
Mythic Rare
Legendary Creature - Angel

For a single moment the null seraph of New Phyrexia was lost to her former self.
edit: Changed the name of the card from the thread title, my mistake.

Creature - Vampire
Sacrifice a creature: Destroy Bleak Coven Negotiator. Any player may activate this ability.
Flying
4/3
"Sacrifice is ritual, and with it I shall eliminate all those with sufficient power to oppose me." -Vraan, Thane of Blood
If I win:
9 Swamp
9 Island
4 Drowned Catacomb
4 Phyrexian Obliterator
3 Vault Skirge
3 Spellskite
3 Aether Burst
2 Into the Roil
3 Echoing Truth
3 Dash Hopes
3 Countersquall
2 Counterspell
3 Phyrexian Etchings
2 Inquisition of Kozilek
3 Distress
3 Despise
This deck utilizes some New Phyrexia stuff. It's essentially meant to dismantle your opponents strategy long enough for you to kill them off with an obliterator.
I was thinking about adding 2 x Phyrexian Totem for mana acc. plus a good 5/5 with trample if the obliterator fails.

Artifact
Whenever a non-land card would be shuffled into its owners library from anywhere, he or she may cast it without paying its mana cost instead.
Well, my thought was to give each domini a really game-changing ability. Then, to create a vertical cycle of multi-colored cards, enchantment, creatures, and then who knows maybe sorceries that more or less show-cased their beginnings and what not.
Mechanics and prevalent themes should definitely include color interaction similar to Slavering Nulls, domini worship (this could also take the form of color interaction,) effects that are spread evenly to opponents rather than just one (this was on the mtg website recently and it was very interesting,) and whatever else y'all think would go into this set flavorfully.
For the domini cycles I was thinking something like,
Domini -> enchantment - ward -> typical creature (a little like the guild mages) -> some sorcery that showcases the domini with some color interaction.
I had planned to do enchantment - wards that showcased their animal sides.
I'll give an example right now,
Abiding Taboo (cost?? - low/medium)
Rare
Enchantment - Ward
Each player may only untap one creature during their untap step.
(cost?? - low): ~ becomes a 5/6 white green beast with trample until end of turn. It is still an enchantment. Activate this ability only once each turn and only if you have no untapped creatures.
Each domini would get a rare like this, a neat enchantment that can turn into something nasty given the right circumstance, hence ward.
I am open to change/suggestion.
