Thanks for your help here, you have turned this deck into a really great deck. It is fun to play and its not complicated.
The tought of the hover barries came to me when I have to block flyers. In a game I faced an Heartless Summoning deck with too many flying creatures, same happened with a Golgari deck that targeted my Fog Bank to death and left my air space open. Maybe I went a little overboard with the barriers but I think that a couple of Sheltering Words could save my walls from being targeted and also help my life for a couple of turns.
I would tinker more with this deck and try to get those two jace. By the way the defenders worked very nicely and they tend to be overlooked by other players, it is not until I mill the for ten cards each turn (or more, I happened to mill 16 cards in one turn with two doorkeepers out, and I payed for that with mana from the axebanes.)
I'll post the deck tonight.
Thanks for the advise.
If I find the cards I'll run it and report back here.
Went 1-3 in the FNM event. Not getting any Staff of Nin or Sands of Delirium really hurt the deck by not having a viable second win condition. When dealing with black, Fog Banks get down easy to their targeted death, and that makesthe deck vulnearable to flying. I'm thinking into adding another Cyclonic Rift, 4 Hover Barrier and a couple of Ranger's Guile or Sheltering Word with a couple more on the SB. I really got to get the Staffs and Sands.
The deck can really get a lot of mana with the Axbane Guardians that could be put to good use on staffs and sands. I'm thinking about going with a couple of sands just to improve my chances of getting one.
