Call me a blasphemer but I'm testing a new build because I've felt our grind game just really doesn't play well with the current meta. That statement has been corroborated a few times in the past few pages. This is my attempt to still play essentially a draw go deck with some more action versus the current meta.

2 Secure is left over from when I was running 3 leak before swapping to spell quellers. Probably could drop it by one. I don't have colonnades right now so I need a higher threat density, but even with the colonnades I don't think I'd cut much.

I see no Goblin Tinkerer OR Goblin Sharpshooter on this list! For shame!

The former eats Sol Rings for lunch and the latter shuts down sac loop infite comobos and most token strats.

That's because back in the day the sharpshooter was a staple not a hidden gem. How the mighty have fallen.

That's why I traded them, at best I felt they were a sideboard card and I found there were better cards for that purpose than it.

I'm kinda curious what you would board in that's 'better' then the visions? because they can't be decayed and if you have one suspended it feel's less bad just taking another turn for a card and one less suspend counter.

I was on grixis control and esper control, sorry should have explained I was on a differnt deck where there were better things I could side.

I have mine side for excactly that reason, gives me an extra edge against jund and the like. also fine to board in if you've seen qasali pridemage and such.

Is the transcendant turns list in the primer a good place to start? it seems a bit light on time walks? I understand the rebound making the difference, but would I want to run 1-2 part the waterveil?

As a new player, how imperative is ancestral visions? I just traded my set away so it'd take a bit of effort to get another.

I dropped my 2x spell Snare and I didn't need them today at a ppqt. I play u/b draw go. Could have played better if I knew match ups. I missed a batterskull trigger. I thought he comes in with the token. My opponent said "no you miss your trigger". Just small miss plays turn into me losing. First time playing competitive modern. Definitely a learning curve. I'm getting better every match

Your opponent was a jerk, that's totally rude.

Hey friends, I don't play this deck and really didn't have an interest in it. Then I saw the primer, and this is one of the most beautifully written and aesthetically pleasing primers I've ever read. As such I'm now building transcendent turns.

I think the real issue is that leyline doesn't win the game against burn, it helps that we don't run many creatures but the minute you resolve a secure the wastes or animate a man land a lot of their stuff goes live. Leyline really isn't an autowin against burn and that's why I try not to rely on it. Aggressively mulligan to it seems to be not the best play.

I like new lili against the infect matchup if you're on that train. I've sided in Disrupting shoals when I'm on the draw to counter the turn 1 glisteners

Was it decided that Ancestral Vision is not good enough in this deck for being too slow or do some lists still run it?

Every deck I see running it only run it in the sideboard against control matchups. I dont think we have too many issues with that thanks to think twice and sphinx's rev. I don't see why we'd run it.

It's just too narrow. I think a card like Runed Halo or Blessed Alliance is better in the vast majority of situations.

Just picked up foil BA's I'm excited to test them! Testing one main currently, seems to do all the things we want to do.

Smasher... reality smasher can be a total beating so naming that can help.

Vampiric link has done work in all my fair matchups, anyone else playing it?

Yeah, but most things playing Smasher only play 1-2, seldom 3 copies; while they also play 4 Thought-Knots.

Not sure how good Vampiric Link is. I don't see it better than a Runed Halo in most matchups, as Halo hits multiples and non-creatures. We don't play enough creatures to make use of the lifelink, so it usually soft-locks a creature from attacking similar to Halo and D-Sphere effects.

Unless you Vamp Link their Eidolon of the Great Revel. That's always fun. XD

I meant alongside halo, not in replace of, I found it great for eidolon, smashers, thought knot seer, and a bunch of other big guys, goyf. I gained 12 life just forcing a guy to block and it brought me out of dead range.
