Thanks, sadly I only have 1 black heart (the discard a crew draw 4) but I'm looking to build Reis cannon for me, and Gosse boarding for my wife. my next question is I'm noticing a few cards that require multiple skill types to use can I tack one crew for multiple types, like if I had the 3 sail and 3 cannon on one crew could I just tack him for parting shot?
Sadly I wasn't serious, the life of a college student doesn't allow finances for real vacations, but if I some how find a way down I'll shoot you a PM, because I'd be all for a few games!
I'm looking to start building some decks is there any advise for deck building? Like how in MTG about 18-24 lands is ideal.
Well I do have hopes of starting a small pack of players my way. I have more then enough to get people started and I left all my duplicate starters unopened to sell to friends that get into it. Does Gen-Con still have 7th sea tournies? If so I might have to try and plan a vacation there.
only 2 of the starts were opened and both still had captain and crew. I spent my day today just cracking the bulk of it so I'm set on most factions, the only ones I'm missing are the black freight and vestern. but yeah I'll keep my eyes open for iron shadows. I've searched just about every place I can think of for cards and most places just have almost nothing or things like boosters for $5+ which is over 10x the amount I bought my last bunch for.
I appreciate the offer, but I have all 6 core factions from broadsides, so I think I'm covered and since the Capt'n & ship aren't shuffled into the deck I'll probably just proxy any of them I don't own. I just wasn't sure if there were others for each faction or just one for each in each set.
Also where can I find more of the story now-a-days? Thanks again for all the help and the story.
I have mostly broadsides and strange vista packs (haven't opened them yet waiting until I find more players in the area) but as for decks I have Broadsides: Orduno, Reis, Guy McCormick, Berek, The General, & Allende. Strange Vistas: Kheired-Din & Gosse. Shifting Tides: Admiral Alazais. Scarlet Seas: Reis. So far the only stuff I have open is the demo decks they had at the store (a gosse's gentlemen & Allende brotherhood). Are Captains and Ships something I'll find in boosters because I haven't started cracking them yet.
Also I know the final set was online only. Are people cool with you just printing a copy of the cards, or is it something they expect just to be played online? I'm noticing they didn't put much care into building the starter decks. In both I've found 1 card not usable by the deck (brotherhood has a loyal crew from a different faction, and Gosse has a ship attatchment that can only be attached to a ship with a sail cost of less then 3, but runs a ship with a cost of 3) did many cards get erratas and if so is there a place I can find them? Then last just wondering what is 6 booster decks? I've seen it mentioned a few places. I assume it's the sealed format for the game but are there any rules for it or just crack 6 packs and build from the cards you find. Thanks for the help I'm having a hard time finding much on this game while at the same point falling in love with it.
Gosse is the best at boarding, and Allende is garbage, huh I coulodn't have picked a worst two starter decks to start playing with, but at least I now understand why our games are so lop-sided. Any suggestions on where to fill in the captains and ships I'm missing? or where I can get stuff for the black freightor?
I recently went to my LGS and they were in the process of moving. They were having a clearance sale on old stuff. I was able to pick up a bunch of starter decks and booster packs for 7th sea CCG for very cheap. I've played a few games with my wife and we're enjoying it but still getting the feel for it. I was wondering if any one knows this game, has tips for some noobs, or just had stories about it.
Depending on your play group or LGS rules, you can sometimes slide on cards that were released as commons online and not in paper. It is group specific but might be worth asking about.
I've been playing at a LGS causal event for the past few weeks and play alot of multiplayer lately, I was trying to think of a fun combo I could build using pauper only to try and drum up some support for the format. I thought up an old combo that was big at my college back during Kamigawa/Ravnica standard. It's fragile and boarderline terrible as we played it then, but I think I've refined it in pauper. the old combo was Tidewater minion, Freed from the real, and Izzet Boilerworks. I'm thinking I'll go for a blue green deck with a small red splash for krosan restorer and any 3 lands so it's cut down to a 2 card combo. I figured 8 fetches so I can always hit the lands I need and only run 1 mountain to help prevent color screw, and then cantrips to help consistency (4 brainstorm, 4 ponder) with all of that I should hit threshold pretty quick so I can go off. then fill in the rest of the deck with control like counterspell, memory lapse, spell pierce & confound. I would run Drift of phantasms as both a blocker and to fetch missing combo pieces. then maybe 2-3 reclaim to get back any combo piece I fail to protect. the end deck looking something like this:
So this is my build, I'm not on the Burning Wish because I get the pieces often enough.
Personally I run the wishes less for the added combo pieces and more the wish board. if I use probe and see I'm about to hit a FoW I can wish for duress and then go off.
yeah I'd go with one of XBM's over the robber, unless you really need the chump block/food, I'd say the kill spell with the life gain will benefit you much more.
Also you want at least 2 reainmates if you go peasant, maybe a 3/2 split 3 togs and 2 reanimates, along with 4 unearth, then keep in like 1-2 crushers.
