@shoebaka: I guess your opponents weren't dropping Omnitell into play then? I think that's the stronger version of the deck, much more resilient to hate. It sounds like your line of play would have been pretty cold to that.
yeah he's not doing omnitell, just curious though if he was going that route would I just want to go with thorn of amethyst from the board? I have no interest in splash white.
Yup, but Wastelands fix that pretty quickly, and while he did pull off (game two) a SnT turn one I was already on one land with a fetch in hand and dropped Matron. Went to fetch Weirdings then remember I took the black out of the deck :/
Honestly Wasteland seemed to be the MVP since I didn't see more then 1 basic on his side of the field in all 3 games. So I was usually able to keep him off his mana, then just beat down, once around a SnT'ed Emy. If you can keep them off SnT until turn 3 with a lackey on the field you should have the game it seems. I can't say for 100% sure since I only did 3 games, but it seems that's the trick and wasn't hard to pull off at all.
As a person who plays SLT style deck in legacy I can tell you you have 2 real options, wish board (which won't work for this format) or use Gitaxian probe, Manamorphose, & street wraith so you have 12 free can trips. I'd probably cut the Chromatic stars for the wraiths. and the other thing I might suggest is while Ideas unbound has more card advantage I might suggest Peer through depths it's only 1 card instead of 3, but I've found most of the time your going to be digging not for storm count but for a specific card or slot. The deck can be a strong storm deck just don't expect a lot of turn 1 or 2 wins, your going to be looking more at turn 3 kills. Because you have such a late kill clock (for combo) you might want to pack somethings like dispel, spell pierce, or disrupt for protecting your combo pieces, and possibly brainstorm to protect from target discard (such as duress). Hope this helps.
I played Show and tell for the first time friday. I was playing mono-red goblins. We did 3 games all pre-board. I won 2-1, though I really feel like I want the black splash back, I was able to keep sneak attack of the board pretty easy but the problem I hit twice was to have matron on the show and tell, but couldn't fetch up Weirdings to kill emy. but usually I found I could simply race it with a turn one lackey.
I agree with tom, unless you expect to see a lot of ulamog's crushers I'd run a split between wall of blossoms and Aether Membrane. also I have to laugh seeing good old channel fireball in here. next I'd cut the aurochs they don't seem to be as much what you want I'd suggest using the slots for lightning bolts or more crushers if you need more kill cons.
While this might be asking too much from a standard pauper deck you could use scalding devil as a mana sink for the combo. While normally I'd say 3 color in pauper is a bad idea you do have the guild gates as well as evolving wilds. so you should be able to support a splash for the red to play the devil, and once you combo off you can go infinite in any color you want don't worry about devil's cost. Here's my take on the infinite combo (but taking it with a grain of salt I've been up for 26 hours after only 4 hours of sleep the night before)
Doorkeeper is there because you will need 4 defenders to go infinite, and just the gatecreepers, and axebanes won't do it, but they also give you a second win con if you have to. Still not sold on doorkeeper? with a but of 4 he can most likely block for you all day. The 2 biggest decks you should expect to see are Delver and extort so build an SB mainly for them. I set the spells to mostly blue control but you should be able to use any control set up you find better.
those are the first 3 I can think of. but yeah then combine this with sligh style creatures, and he's the late game/backup plan. Assuming your building for multiplayer, since you don't care about either of those if your going 1v1 sligh.
I like most the suggestions CatParty made except I think dropping rancor and putrid leech are all mistakes, rancor might not drop onto Derm and Tiger, but it will make all your other guys a complete house, and leech is another solid 4/4 for 2. Even if you put the rancor on a Skyshroud Ridgeback or an elder you still get the rancor back when they die so it's not a waste on them either.
Just curious why I'm not seeing this guy more? He's a power house! Early game he's mana ramp, late game he's a 4/4 beat stick. honestly the only reason this guy fell out of legacy thresh is Tarms are just bigger faster. I personally use them in my peasant moosebite deck, but if I had the sets they'd be an auto include in any green deck I played in peasant/pauper (except infect).
