In sealed you put every 2/3cc explore creature in your deck, no exceptions
Assuming a 17/23 split of land/nonland (42.5%/57.5%), assuming this same ratio is left in your deck when the creature is cast, and assuming you don't trash the nonland card if it pops up; then casting an explore creature gives you the following :
82% chance of your next draw being a nonland card
AND
42.5% chance of drawing a card(land) OR 57.5% of getting a +1/+1 counter
That's a pretty good deal! Unfortunately for us, all the creatures with explore at common are something less than good.
Wander in death is an effect they usually cost at 3B and you can cycle it. Seems entirely playable to me especially with so much support for self-mill.
I run Death's Duet to great effect in my cube and this thing is strictly better as it's a functional reprint + cycling.
EDIT : Just realized it also says "Up to two" so this can be used if there is only one creature in your grave as well where duet requires exactly two
I'm fairly indifferent to zombie desert in comparison to Haunted Fengraf. In any aggro/midrange deck you are going to have better things lying in your grave almost always and in control the 2/2 without evasion just isn't great as a threat (but can block x/2s like a champ I guess). I suppose it does increase threat density for mono or nearly color decks, but I'm just not sure what I would cut for it off the top of my head
I've been playing around with these 4 cards as the base of a Sultai or Golgari aggro deck for the past week. When it works, it works disgustingly well. It seems to pair up best with support cards like Traverse the Ulvenwald to ensure smooth mana and fetch a small toolbox late game, and CoCo because CoCo. Beyond that I'm not sure if I'm just not building it correctly or if it's still waiting on another card to come help.
Speaking of primers which ones need to be in competitive?
4c Rally
Mono B Eldrazi
Atarka Red
Ensoul aggro
Jeskai aggro
Dark Jeskai
Mardu aggro
Scales
And how do we deal with Scales? Lump the wg, gb, and wgb decks all together in one primer? There are some scales decks that don't even bother with scales anymore
I'm thinking about Seeker of Skybreak instead of Quirion Ranger
Then you have to deal with:
1)summoning sickness
2)twice as expensive in a deck that is running an anorexic land base
3)inability to use it on their turn after you use it on your turn
4)inability to "generate" an extra green mana
5)inability to enable landfall
Swordwise Centaur or Garruk's Companion instead of the Nettle Sentinel
1)twice as expensive in a deck that is running an anorexic land base
2)they lack surprise untaps for defensive plays
3)if you run Gather Courage, it enables it to be played for free
I just came back to mtgo for the first time in a little over a year and the client seems to have become very sluggish and unresponsive to the point where I can't play a deck like pauper RUG tron that has a lot of triggered and activated abilities, because even with using hot-keys and knowing the ins and outs of every match to the point I'm playing on muscle memory, I'm going to time out if we have to go to game 3 if the first two weren't over quick.
I have a skylake i7, 32g of ram, 1070gtx, m.2 Samsung 950 ssd, and even turned off the annoying foil animations. By all measures, I shouldn't be running into issues. Is there anything I can do besides shelving MTGO for another year?

U : Draw a card
kicker 3 : draw two cards instead

Has anyone else toyed with these guys together?

I can't think of anything in a pauper cube that warrants sinking 8 mana to deal with anything, but here it is.

Can't landcycle on turn 0
Can cause weird issues with color early game
I won't be cutting expanse/wild for it, but will throwing it into the cube.
This is our common card from the set.
Anyone else notice the sneaky little affinity inclusion? Slightly harder to cast than Quicksilver Behemoth but doesn't need to be recast and +1/+1
