The 5 color Invitiational featured a very similar format to this as one of its features formats. Check out www.5-color.com for the details... Glowrider was pretty hot. I dig the article as well because it explains the banned cards and puts in the mindset for 3cb very easily, almost too easy
I was checking that deck out at StarCityGames in their extended deck finder. It seemed like there many builds but most involve the Dryad (of course!). Some builds included Intuition as well. I do like the single Armageddon tech in there, although there is no way to get it other than drawing it. You might want to try Energy Flux in the 'board as well for anti-Affinity.
The deck counts out at 59 cards, maybe room for the Intuition? Some of the builds liked City of Brass as well to utilize the Fire side of Fire/Ice. Stifle might be helpful against Desire as well. Since you are running black, Vampiric Tutor as well? Maybe that's card 60...
I like this guy quite a bit, but it seems like he would draw a lot of removal, which is good for your other creatures I guess. Once your opponent(s) know your deck, Shirei's gonna need some help. If you are lucky enough to have a Lightning Greaves or something similar in play, and they have no instant speed removal, then he's golden. Astral Slide might be good to keep him alive in a BW cycling deck.
I think its a bit far out to be thinking of chase rares, but this is speculation and all. Assuming Wrath, Coat, and Underworld Dreams are all still in, I would go with those for the time being. If Armageddon did get reprinted, I dont know how highly saught they would be. They were in print up to 6th edition, along with the 2 Portal versions floating around. Depending on the art, a foil one could be pretty hot. This would be a loooooong shot, but if Swords to Plowshares came back in 9th in the rare slot that could be pretty hot, and it would make white "good" again. Once again, always IMHO...
I voted for 3 AKA Boom!. Granted after looking at it again it screams Obliterate part deux, I still liked the art cause I like blowing up stuff! I didn't think of the implications of the design too much, just picked the art I liked.
#9 is very bizzare and I found the Dust Lady to be a bit too realistic looking. For me, Magic cards have a fantasy look too them and she looked to real I guess. Don't get me wrong, its kick ass art and they can make an uber Legend chick out of her or something. And its not like she isnt fantasy art, its just too realistic for my tastes. Hats off to the artist though!
