Hi all, enjoy the cranial insertion posts very much. One of the questions in the latest had me curious, so wanted to see if I got the clarification below correct, or if I'm missing something:

Q: Despite my Maelstrom Nexus out, I want to cast Feldon's Cane, but I don't want to shuffle. Can I just not cascade?

A: "May" doesn't appear anywhere in there, so cascade ain't optional. You're going to be exiling your entire library, then randomizing (but not shuffling, hah!) it and putting it back.

The answer states that the player will be exiling their entire library. But given that Feldon's Cane is a converted mana cost 1 card, if the player's first exiled card was Hypergenesis or Tormod's Crypt, I wouldn't think the player would be doing any randomizing.

If however Tormod's Crypt was played with Maelstrom Nexus out, I think this full library exiling would occur. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

And one last question - although the "randomizing" happens after the located card is cast, it seems the randomizing portion does not use or depend on stack after cascade resolves - so for instance no one has the chance to mill you as a result of exiling most or all of your library, before the randomizing happens. Wanted to make sure I'm reading that right.

    Regards,
    Sean
