Nice changes! I'm surprised that more control decks aren't running Hindering Touch... And I am eve more surprised I didn't know about that card, because I was thinking the other day "damn, why isn't Flusterstorm common".
I can see how the Reclaim would be useful, since it can recur Fogs or Erasures at EOT, but are they really better than another Lull? I might be inclined to cut a Fog over a Lull, since Lull can cycle G1 if you need it to.
I am also curious as to how your SB is treating you for control matchups. Seems like it should be able to give control a run for it's money due to the sheer countering power.
Maybe it's just because his list is so similar to the list that I posted, but I agree with Aidan on the choice to go UG instead of Bant. The only real reason to go white is Prismatic Strands (which you will never flashback), and Safe Passage against Storm, MBC with Corrupt, and Fling Affinity.
Storm with Empty the Warrens pretty much rolls over to this deck, since all they can DO is win by attacking. And scouring the Daily's lately, the kill of choice seems to be ETW.
I think the trick with this deck is to realize that you're going to be a favorite against almost any aggressive deck, and you're a dog against Control. I don't really understand the justification for a lot of the sideboard though Aidan, since I feel that you're much better off tailoring your SB to the control matchups. I included Negate in my SB, and I'm sure Spell Pierce will be good at winning counter wars. The way to beat control is to land a Jace's Erasure, and protect it.
Instead of Naturalize you may like Gleeful Sabotage out of the board. It loses instant speed, but gains the ability to 2-for-1 affinity, which feels good man.
I may advise a split between Talon Sliver and Spinneret Sliver in the MD, just due to the popularity of Delver. And having more bears is better than 2 mana 1/1s.
Also, I'm not sure how much Oblivion Ring was really required to be an O-ring from your testing, vs how often it might have just been used as a Journey to Nowhere, which might be a good substitute in the MD for the mana savings.
Also, I'm not really sure what your SB is trying to beat? It seems to be all over the map. I might recommend some Standard Bearers for the Infect matchup, and some Prismatic Strands vs storm...
Either way, just a couple of thoughts. Congrats on the 4-0!
Learning from Legacy Delver, your best bet for adding any sort of counterspell would be Daze... Seems like it should be alright for what you're looking to accomplish most of the time.
I've been intrigued by the idea of Turbofog in Pauper for a while now. The decklist that I have been playing around with is sort of like the Bant list that was posted earlier, but I have maintained only 2 colours, gaining mana consistency over more flexible fogs.
The most important thing in this deck is setting up a Jace's Erasure with card draw. More draw equals more Erasures which equals more milling of your opponent and less time for them to break the fog lock. This is the quickest and most reliable way to kill your opponent.
Muddle the Mixture is excellent in this list because it allows you to go get Erasure to race your opponent, or Moment's Peace for multiple fogs, or counter something like Corrupt aimed at the face.
In terms of fog selection, Lull is good because you can cycle it in matchups where the fog effect isn't needed as much, such as UR Post, or if you need an extra mill with Erasure.
Brainstorm is one of your strongest spells with one or multiple Erasure's on the battlefield, since it mills your opponent without milling you...
I like the idea of the transformational deck when using the Cloudpost engine, but it seems like when you're running that list you're more likely to have dead cards than the draw-centric lists. Ghostly Flicker when you only have out Cloudposts and Erasure is pretty bad. Mnemonic Wall is pretty good recycling fogs, but with less draw spells in the deck, and a higher focus on creatures, it's more likely to be dead.
Just throwing some thoughts out there for a deck that I find really interesting in the current metagame.
Hey, just a bit of feedback to your videos. I like having more Pauper videos to watch, and I am very excited to see a lot of new or underrepresented decks.
My only concern is that it feels like you're filling time, and talking too much about inconsequential topics. For example, explaining what Aurochs Herd is, by comparing it to a goat.... not actually useful or interesting information. Also, G1M1, you went far too in-depth explaining why the hand was a mulligan... it would be fairly obvious to most of your audience that it was the case.
Other than that, I will be definitely be watching these videos, and look forward to seeing a lot of interesting decks in action. Thanks for the effort!
I regret to inform that I've disassembled Lin Sivvi due to the lack of actually playing EDH lately.
The one comment I will make regarding cutting Cho Manno is that he is tutorable as a rebel, so any Steelshaper's Gift or Enlightened Tutor will allow you to very easily assemble the combo if you want it.
Otherwise, you're relying entirely on Three Dreams, or multiple non-rebel tutors. Which definitely seem like they're better suited for finding other, more specialized, answers. Otherwise you're committing a lot of resources to a rather fragile lock.
It might be worthwhile if the decks in your area are kold to an Indestructable Pariah, but if not, it probably takes away too many usable slots.
One of the best black generals for multiplayer. It's powerful enough to keep you in the game, but not oppressive enough to make people gun for you off the bat.
I am so glad I picked mine up when it was $30... for an english one...
I would love to see the current status of this deck, as it is being played in fzian's tournament. Have there been any major improvements/innovations?! I have been debating whether I want to try Iname or stay with Skithryx for my 1v1 Mono-Black...
I've played 3 of the duel decks, Goblins vs. Elves, Jace vs. Chandra, and Divine vs. Demonic and didn't think any were super fun. They were ok, but not great. Maybe some of the others are better, but I didn't really like the experience because I felt like the decks were unfocused and played cards that sucked.
Goblins/Elves was surprisingly balanced, but there are the "unbeatables" in each deck, which is lame.
Jace always beats Chandra. High powered blue spells vs. low powered red ones? Not even close.
Divine usually beats Demonic... The advantage of the life loss black fliers is they can get in for damage... unless your opponent has a bunch of high toughness flying blockers!!! Not a very balanced set either.
Liliana vs. Garruk was pretty good, and I've yet to play Elspeth vs. Tezzeret, but I've got them sitting around at home. They CAN be fun, just don't pick the ones listed above, lol.
This is also a question of global coherence. Why would this rule apply only to certain zones and not to other ones ? Why would Hinder be much more powerful than Dissipate ? Why would Hallowed Burial be better than Wrath of God ? Why would Bant Charm get rid of a creature when Swords to Plowshares wouldn't ?
That being said, it is not impossible that the French exception could disappear if the banlist becomes international.
Well, to quote you for the rationale of the new French 1v1 list earlier...
To get 1v1 Commander recognized as we would like it to be, we need a starting point to unify the rules.
...
Having thought back and forth, trying to identify what had been done wrong at start, I think that the greatest mistake that was ever made about 1v1 Commander is the mistake that consists in opposing multiplayer Commander and 1v1 Commander.
...
By crafting a banlist that finds its origin in the Commander banlist, we can state that 1v1 Commander is a variant of Commander, we can start building a bridge between official Commander et 1v1 Commander. And again, this point is essential.
Tuck is a part of Multiplayer EDH. From some other threads on MTGCommander, I recall the rules committee stating that Tuck is allowed, and is not going to be going anywhere. Wizards has even printed cards to SUPPORT tuck in the rules in the Commander product!
This is a very large barrier for some players. I agree, it kind of sucks when your general is tucked... but people should be building their decks with that in mind. Especially if your deck crumbles without the general.... Then you're doing it wrong, or need to be controlled (ie. Jhoira, Zur, Arcum, Erayo).

Instead of Giant Growth, I might recommend Travel Preparations, as it acts as a Muscle Sliver of sorts, and is as good as you might remember from INN limited.

With enough mana, it's like a Plague Wind that you can protect really easily.

Good to see you back!!!

Had a Braids deck for 1v1 play, and it would have killed for that card. If you're running mono colours and need that boost it can be invaluable.
Otherwise it will really only be good in a poison heavy deck... Signets and anything that fixes is probably better in most cases.
Well, to quote you for the rationale of the new French 1v1 list earlier...

Personally, the "always draw upright" is one that I'm fairly militant about.
I also tend to use sleeves that compliment the colours of the deck...
Rhys? Light Green
Lin Sivvi? White
Clique? Blue
Xiahou Dun? Black
Jhoira? Purple.
If they don't match in some sort of context, it just feels wrong....
Unless they're pink sleeves. Or bright yellow. They match everything.
