    Yes. Work in NC.

And vendor or employee error? Don't matter. They rung up at the register. Smile

Most things at Walmart don't have a street date built into the PoS system unless they're also under lock and key. Otherwise people will just turn around and steal the thing instead of buying it. They only pay the penalty if they get caught.

(p.s. take your receipt and send the info to Wizards. They'll want the store number that's listed)

    Eye concur. *ba dum tish*

The O-Stone shenanigans mentioned over the last few pages are interesting, but ultimately, I feel like that plan would be better suited for a more political deck, like Zedruu or a not Group Hug Pheldagriff.

Still hopeful for some solid cards tonight.

Also, someone mistranslated it. It doesn't use Fate Counters. It would say "Segnalino fato" like on an Italian O Stone. It instead seems to use Destiny Counters ("Segnalino Destino")

No. The first step of casting Green Sun's Zenith is putting it on the stack. After you've finished casting it, THEN Primeval Bounty triggers, and goes on the stack above GSZ. There's no possible way to get the counters on the GSZ target.

I would seriously reconsider playing BUG instead of Grixis. Green gets you the following:

    Mulch
    Tracker's Instincts
    Birthing Pod
    Life from the Loam
    Greater Good
Eternal Witness (Picks up your mass reanimation spell after being reanimated)

On top of that, you get The Mimeoplasm as your general, so you can use him as a Reanimate spell.

    Quote from rauzes
If this is the case, then bob/tutelage gains you an extra card every upkeep the cost of 3.2 life, and some information advantage. I'd rather use phyrexian arena, which does the same at the cost of 1 life a turn and no lost information advantage.

How about... and I know this is going to sound like a totally crazy idea here, but bear with me. How about you play ALL THREE OF THEM! As long as you limit the number of 5 and ups in your deck, Bob/Tutelage are great. Also, since Bob and Tutelage aren't Draw effects, they're good against cards like Consecrated Sphinx and Chains of Mephistopheles.

You have two real options. Mono blue, and G/u.

In mono blue, it's a reusable control magic effect, and will shut down the game until it's removed. It combines especially well with ways to untap it at will.

In a G/u/x deck, where you run cards like Cultivate/Kodama's Reach, you can usually manipulate it so you have 4-5 islands out. While you can't always steal the biggest creature, there is ALWAYS some dork that is very amazing. Stealing a Fauna Shaman or a Mother of Runes can really advance your game plan while slowing your opponents.

Also, in any two/three color deck, you really need at least shocks and preferably duals so you can turn the thing on in the early turns without killing your mana base.

Despite the fact that artifacts are (sometimes) weak to removal, it will control the game until it is removed. I don't know about this magical place where 99% of people on these forums play where everyone has an unmolested hand of 10 removal spells while simultaneously everyone has 40 power worth of threats, but that doesn't happen in real life. (Or nobody likes trying to win, which is a problem)

Also worth noting, Everflowing Chalice will never have a CMC besides 0, even on the stack. Unlike an X spell, Chalice's mana cost is being paid in additional costs via the Multikicker, which is not taken into account for the CMC.

I really don't see a deck with notion thief loosing to a sphinx.

The thief guy would draw a butt load of cards then just kill the sphinx once he has a grip of gas.

Depends on how deep his answers are and how much the Sphinx gets protected. If you have a FoW and another counterspell mana up, they would need 3 answers in the first third of their deck. If they're more than 1/3 down their deck, they instead need to aim the kill spell at their own Thief, since there are enough draw triggers to kill him.

It's far too slow. Either the hits you take are too big for the life gain to make a difference, or you are the one not hit with Shadowmage Infiltrator and friends.

If you get beat down in 3 turns, you get to activate 2/3 times. 7/9/11 mana for 2/4/6 life and 1/2/3 cards is WAY too much. You can get the cards off of a Dreamstone Hedron for 9 mana and actually use it as a mana rock while you don't need the cards.

  • posted a message on Does Green Mana Count as Forest for Timbermaw Larva?
No, Forest is a land subtype, and despite the relation between lands and mana, has nothing to do with mana in your mana pool. The larvae cares about cards you control with the type Forest, like Forest , stomping Ground, and taiga

Hmmm, after copying Karrthus, both die. So he should get control over all dragons (ability is on the stack), but they don't have haste anymore. Right? So your next turn you can recast Karrthus and win. AHHH forget that, forgot about Sakashima's "its name is still Sakashima the Impostor". My bad Wink

Sakashima does not copy the creature's name (a.k.a can clone Legends).

  • posted a message on Strip Mine Urborg in response to Cabal Coffers activation?
No, you can't. Cabal coffers ability is a mana ability, and resolves instantly without any chance of interaction. Your opponent is getting the whole of their Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth for this turn.

  • posted a message on Card draw suggestions for a BUG deck
    Quote from FZA
I've been trying to fine tune my Mimeoplasm deck and it seems to me that finding the right card draw spells may be the hardest thing. Here is a list of the cards I am playing or considering:

Fact or Fiction - Extremely powerful, doesn't need much explanation, auto include.

    Brainstorm- also pretty self explanatory.

Intuition- very powerful for my deck as it can basically get me 3 cards. The graveyard is a resource.

Ancestral Vision- very efficient mana wise but it is very slow and pretty much a complete dead draw late game. Been debating this one for a while

Concentrate/Harmonize- For 4 mana you get 3 immediate cards. Not as good in the opening hand as Ancestral Vision but a much better top deck.

Phyrexian Arena- nets you a ton of CA in the long term but I think I would prefer a more immediate option. Concentrate gives you the cards right away for 1 more mana and I rarely end up drawing more than 3-4 with the Arena.

Frantic Search- love the tempo and the discard can actually help sometimes. Included for sure.

Foresee- now here's an interesting one. For the same cost as concentrate you get one less card but a scry ability. I happen to like scry a lot, so I'd probably play this over concentrate.

Compulsion- this card has always been a beast in my experiences. Being able to cycle your late game lands and dead draws for 2 mana feels so nice. It would be hard for me to justify cutting this.

Sylvan Library- Card advantage machine, don't see any reason to cut it

What are your opinions on the previous cards and are there others you would say are better? In your opinion what are the best draw spells for EDH?

You seem to be confusing Card draw and Card Selection. Despite Brainstorm saying "Draw three cards", it is a net 0 in card quantity, and is aimed at increasing your card quality. If you're trying to get more card draw, these cards aren't the greatest. I'm also assuming you want some draw spells that bin cards for using with your deck.

That said, the best of the best in both categories for your color...

  • posted a message on entering the battlefield and the stack
Question 1: No, there's no way to manipulate it. Master Biomancer's ability is a static ability that generates a replacement effect, changing how the Silverheart enters the battlefield, while the Silverheart's ability is a triggered ability and waits on the stack to resolve.

Question the second: No. Again, Heartless summoning has a static ability that is constantly in effect, while Wolfir Silverheart's ability waits on the stack to resolve.

Question the third: Yes, it lives. Both the Biomancer and Heartless Summoning abilities are static abilities, so they'll both apply immediately, without using the stack. Just remember that your Heartless Summoning applies to how many counters the Biomancer gives away.

For future reference, triggered abilities use the words "When", "Whenever", or "At" (e.g. "When/whenever this ETB's", or "At the beginning of the end step"), while static abilities don't. All static abilities are taken into account before State Based actions are checked, while triggered abilities go on the stack only after state based actions are checked.
