    lol

Good catch :--) Indeed... so that much harder to make work. I guess not a great cube card after all.

Cool card! Black has so many interesting 4-drops these days.

It's also big fun in an aristocrats deck. Sac five creatures, then do it again.
Yeah, aristocrats is the best deck for this card, but I could see it in other token decks as well, especially red ones (with cards like Goblin Bombardment, Purphoros and Outpost Siege), or in a pinch as wrath insurance in aggro.

I agree that you need to support token-heavy archetypes to make this card good enough to run, but in the right deck I think it's absolutely cube-worthy.

This looks like insane value. Counts ALL creatures that died, and once foretold you only need to hold open one B.

Rise of the Dread Marn 2B
    Instant
Create X 2/2 black Zombie Berserker tokens, where X is the number of non-token creatures that died this turn.

Torbran was one of my biggest surprises of last year. I learned about it in the Arena Cube, and it’s been awesome mono red aggro support. I recommend at least testing that card.

Torbran has been wrecking house since we included it, so I can only agree with this.

I guess I'll have to test after all and see it in action in order to appreciate its power level. Thanks all!

I get that it can do all that, if the cards fall the right way. What I don't get is how that makes the copter 'superb'. To me it sounds like the definition of a filler card.

Can you explain? Personally if I can choose any card to put together a deck, Copter would not be on my list (certainly not for an aggro deck). What am I missing?

I mean, I can understand that the card can see play if it ends up in a pile. But what deck *needs* Copter and would pick it up early? How is it 'superb', in a context where cards like Umezawa's Jitte and Tangle Wire exist? I just don't get it.

How does Copter compare to a card like Looter il-Kor? That's a card I value highly (although calling it 'superb' would be quite the stretch), it has the same CMC and it serves a similar purpose (attacking and looting). Is Copter a colorless version of that? It seems to me that being dependent on other creatures to do anything is quite the drawback.

So how is this card still doing in cubes these days? We ended up never even testing it, and I still don't think there are many decks that want it but I could be wildly off with my evaluation.

Posting this after seeing this comment:

@ dschumm - i honestly think that smuggler's copter & umezawa's jitte are the only stone cold have to run equipment/vehicles @ 360

Well, I never tested Mutagenic Growth, although I did consider it multiple times. People do go into a second color for Ghor-Clan though. I think it's worth the multi-colored slot (we have 5 non-hybrid gruul slots) and I rate it higher than Arlinn Kord and Huntmaster. +4/+4 and trample as a combat trick can finish a game out of nowhere (especially on a double striker Laugh ) Just my 2 cents!

I'm still a huge fan of Ghor-Clan Rampager. That card has ended so many games played with bloodrush, and it still gets played as a creature as well, in a pinch.

Probably being dense here, but why can't this see play in aggressive decks? Too slow? Too expensive? Fredo you mentioned this would be low on your priority list, how come?

Well my aggro decks are fast, so most of them have no cards costing more than 4 mana. Sometimes there's a single 5-drop curve-topper, but I prefer to curve out at 4. So any 5-drop will be low on my pick list for aggro, and I will take Thundermaw Hellkite before Court of Ire because it just kills my opponent dead right now instead of maybe next turn. High on my pick list will be low drop creatures, disruption, cheap burn & equipment. A 5-drop do-nothing enchantment (which is basically what Court of Ire is when looked at through an aggro lens) is not what I want in my aggro decks.

I like, roughly in order of preference:

    Court of Grace
    Fall from Favor
    Hullbreacher
    Wheel of Misfortune
    Magus of the Order
    Archon of Coronation

We might not find the room for all of those though.
