I would play delver if I was into that sort of thing but I tend to like to aggro out on people. RDW is a deck I like to run (although this standard season I havn't even made a list for it). The "Delver" type of control - aggro (tempo I guess is called) is not appealing to me. That's why I don't run it.
Just run what best fits your play style and you will win more games.
Reanimator might use him. RDW could use the card selection he gives. his -4 is meh but his ultimate is cool. He doesn't protect himself though, which seems to make or break a planes walker most of the time.
Edit: Read the card wrong... Seeing that the cards are trown away at random for his plus 1 kills it a bit...
Actually, when you activate his 0 he has not entered the battlefield. He changes types. I read about it on magiccards.info earlier. I like that he is buffed by Honor of the Pure.
Well I was led astray on that one >:( still... it isn't the worst card you could add
He is funny because when he becomes a creature he makes champ a ;little bigger I like the card for the controlyness he does and decent at finishing but when I tried he I was wishing he was a little faster. Turn 5 I'm usually saving for a vault or flashing back lingering souls or swining with a bladehold for game.
The card is not gunna do what you want it to do when you use it. Tokens can recover from it easily. Humans can recover from it easily. pretty much any aggrro deck I can think of wont have too big a problem with it. I could see it in zombies maybe as a sideboard option but Black Sun's Zenith is still better than it.
I think a lot of people are missing the point of Killing Wave. In the mechanics article, it was mentioned that one of the themes of AVR was the "loner", creatures that tend to work best alone. So far, they've all been black (Demonic Taskmaster and Demonlord of Ashmouth). A R/B deck focused on burn and a single threat like the aforementioned Taskmaster means that your opponent has to choose between it being a Devil's Play for every creature he/she controls and a Plague Wind, whilst you only need to pay the measly life requirement. It decimates tokens and hurts tribal decks badly. There's a place for it that we haven't seen yet.
Killing Wave doesnt decimate tokens... I'll gladly pay X life to keep a Hero of Bladehold on the field. I'll Re-stabalize with a Vault of the Archangel or flashback a lingering souls and be right back in it. Day of judgement and ratchet bomb will do a better job 99% of the time. I don't even think it goes good against tribal deck for the same reason (being able to keep your bomb). It's a meh card...
See alot of "cheating" comments but I dont see how it is. The way it's worded makes me think they have to play it right there ans not whenever they want. It's also not supper hard to track what card they drew. If my opponent takes too long to cast it, I don't think I would let them. Just me though.
I prefer shrines MB, cards like Revoke Existence and Naturalize hit artifacts and enchantments and will be brought in to stop our enchantments anyways. I think it's better to make use of them game 1 since they could bring in hate anyways.
So be it. I would rather have a shrine naturalized than an anthem any day of the week.
Shrine's in my sideboard has won me many games. It also tricks them. Many times I hear "Damn you got those in your board?" cause they don't side in their artifact hate g2. good times XD.
Also I am on the boat of leaving champion in because of the early pressure he gives ya. Im also a bigger fan of aggro-ey decks soo yeah.
Here is my startings for a deck. Stormblood Beserker is probably gunna get cut seeing how he is hard to make a 3/3 sometimes, but when he does it is pretty good. He also doesn't benefit from Bellowing Tangleworm. Young wolf has been pretty awesome for me since it makes sweepers a little less effective. Llanowar elf would probably take his place though if I were to swith him out. Also want to fit in Overrun since it can finish a game. Working out my sideboard. well any suggestions would be helpful as I am still new to the deck. Thanks.
