Skirsdag high priest is kinda lame. I would rather attack than tap creatures for a 5/5 flying demon. Just me though.
Edit: also on shimmering grotto, doesn't it just screw you more than help you? lets say I need double white for bladehold and I have WBB on the field, you draw a grotto and it's kinda sad panda. Vault of the arch angel does the same thing i suppose but you get more quality out of it than you ever would with the grotto.
Alter's Reap could be a good card to add. It adds even more resistance to sweepers. I would say 2 maybe 3 would be the magic number for it, but what would you cut?
Pros:
Removal resistant/Sweeper Resistant
Powers Champion of the Parish
Decent at blocking big things like titans or wurmcoil engine
Cost only has one white in it (Easy on the mana base).
Cons:
Cost 4 mana for a 2/2
Doesn't impact the field too much when it enters
Doesn't have reach to block fliers
What would you cut for it?
A card I found poking around my collection of random oddities. This card would make sweepers more ineffective as a 2/2 will just turn into two 2/2 or even 3/3 vigilant fliers. When I get the chance I will try to fit this card in for testing to see how it actually preforms.
I have made my deck to try and be aggressive by just swamping the field (not over extending for sweepers of coarse) with some decent bodied creatures. So far it has been very successful in doing just that.
I am thinking to move Oblivion Ring to the side board and replace it with Go for the Throat because it is instant speed and cheaper on the mana.
I also wouldn't mind tryin to fit Blade Splicer in because of how helpful it can be blocking pro white baddies. Also since Champion of the Parish has been such a power house for me, another dude pumping him would be awesome.
Hero of Bladehold (for me) is kinda hit and miss. If she doesn't get dealt with she can and most likely will end the game, but most of the time she gets dealt with so I spend a 4 mana investment on nothing. I wouldn't completely cut her out, probably cut her to a 2-of.
Sorin (again, for me) has actually been pretty good. He either helps stall my opponent or makes an anthem so I can alpha strike for game (or both). I think for now he is staying as a 3-of.
The only hard time I really have beating anyone is a turn 4 Primeval Titan or Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite hitting the table. Delver has been a breeze so far because I can swarm them pretty easy. Humans is a ok match up. Sideing in Day of Judgement helps a bit. Thalia is a alittle annoying. Zombies is also an ok match up but it is not great though. I just race um with vault and fly over their threats.
Pretty much you dig through the deck for a pike and a creature and swing for big because of all the goodies in your grave powering the pike. I don't know all the cards in standard anymore so I decided to post it here to get a better idea of what to put in it and to maybe get help with a land base and sideboard.
is there a reason geist of saint traft wouldn't be used? I havn't seen it in any lists (but that could be the dyslexia kicking in).Swinging for 7-8 turn 4 with honor or virtue seems lulzy. Maybe I'm missing something though.
EDIT: It is even more fun if sorin its the field and makes an emblem. It's a miniHero of Bladehold essentialy.
Personaly, I do like him mainly for the emblem. I'm also not running champion of the parish So the emblem makes up for the damage he could have done. The tokens he makes suck but poping an emblem and then making dudes isn't too bad imo.
Going out doesn't necessarily mean you have to be dating or whatever. I agree with NS on this one: ask her to join you outside work sometime, maybe a party, a beer after work or something communal to start with. Just because she has a boyfriend doesn't mean you can't become better friends.
Hmmm... She did say she liked bowling. I shall try that then. Thanks people.
