Obviously, the practical applications of the card means that Feast and Famine, if it were to ever fall in the hands of Mirrans (that might actually be a credible theory that I'm happy with), would be great against Phyrexians. But come on. Sword of Fire and Ice is literally made of fire and ice. Sword of Light and Shadow literally emits and absorbs light. They are the colors they protect against, and green and black are not Mirran colors.
But whatever. Maybe one of the Phyrexian praetors fell asleep with it and a Vulshok found it.
Edit: Thinking about it, there's another theory that I'd accept: all five swords are Mirran by nature. I mean, looking at the art of SoFF, it bears a resemblance to SoBaM, so it's probably not a Phyrexian creation. However, this means that the Sword of Red and White will have to be Mirran too; fingers crossed that they don't decide to *****slap this theory.
Oh, you just give me hope that the last set can STILL be Mirrodin Pure. And I hope so, so much.
Eh. What's mythic and what's not is the age-old debate. There are some cards I don't feel are mythics - Lotus Cobra, for one (come on) - but in the end, it's not just the feel of the card that affects it, it's lame stuff like power level, so there's really no reason to argue. Some people feel Consecrated Sphinx shouldn't be a mythic; I just look at them, twitch, and then show them the part where it says draw two cards.
I feel the exact same way. BG sword should be Phyrexian, damn it. It instils the wielder with the powers of green and black, and in the process makes them immune to their own powers - like pyrokinetics being immune to fire.
Well, I can't explain the name. But I think the BG sword if used against Phyrexian, so it's Mirran card. Phyrexian don't go against themselves with their all-are-one thingy. So a card that go against Phyrexian must be Mirran.
Oh, and I agree on Lotus Cobra. But, still, people can always find something that make things a mythic. Lotus Cobra has "Lotus" in its name, that's why it's a mythic. Why can't they just name it something else, I don't know.:-/
jesus flipping christ! how on god's green earth is this waste of cardboard a mirran card? its phyrexian colors for christ's sake! Atleast throw phrexia a bone here for this ugly looking sword.
I wouldn't mind it being so "meh" if it was phrexian because phyrexia is so "meh" anyways
Correction. It's anti-Phyrexian color. Why would Phyrexian wield a sword that destroy themselves? It being Mirran card is right. Mirran want to be holding this sword smashing down Phyrexian.
I might consider him for my cube. I like haste 4 power battlecryer.
Creeping Corrosion is dissapointing through. I bet so many people expected it to be upgraded version of Creeping Mold. Me included.
EDIT: Oh, and I guess it's 80% that the bad guys are going to win this fight. I don't know what Mirran's wiping sword have business in the set where Mirran had won.
I like GTFO for the short name. It doesn't work, but yet, it works all at the same time.
SoFF seems ok. It seems R&D have realized how ridiculous the original two were, though. The latest two don't even hold a candle to the originals.
Also, I totally didn't realize that the black Zenith was -1/-1 counters. That's incredibly awesome. I take back my earlier post about it. Completely.
GTFO make me think of GTO for some reason. I guess that's how cool the card is.
SoFF is pretty nice. But I got to admit I was expecting more, with the "mythic status" waving around right now. I wish they could have make the new sword as they did Baneslayer compare to other five drop, or the titans/wurmcoil.
Well, it's chase card for "the cube". People that don't play it are going to be different. I'm guessing some, if not most, will play the bad guys. If I don't have a cube, that's what I'll be doing.
I don't think Black Sun's Zenith is a staple. I mean, I don't know how it can replaced any cards in my cube. Maybe one of the weaker creatures, but that's about it.
Note to self: I am, however, planning to include Night's Whisper again.
