Work in progress... does this have any potential? With a lot of tweaking and optimizing, I feel this can be strong against reanimator, strong against control, and decent against weenies.

    25 land

    4x Tribute to Hunger
    3x Slaughter Games
    4x Pillar of Flame
    1x Searing Spear
    1x Mizzium Mortars
    4x Thragtusk
    4x Abrupt Decay
    4x Dreadbore
    4x Treasured Find
    4x Sign in Blood
    1x Elixer of Immortality
    1x Underworld Connections

Game plan: Answer all of your opponent's threats and grind them down with Slaughter Pact and Elixer of Immortality. Thragtusks are another possible alternative win condition.
Pillar of Flame: Cheap generic removal, can combo with Dreadbore to RFG annoying fatties. Can combo with Treasured Find to finish your opponent off after Thragtusk beats.
Abrupt Decay / Dreadbore: Bread and butter versatile removal spells.
Tribute to Hunger / Thragtusk: Anti-aggro stall, anti-Bant Enchant
Treasured Find: Gives you 8x Thragtusks against aggro and 8x Slaughter Games against control. Can combo with Evolving Wilds for anti land screw. Can bring back Elixer if they made you discard it somehow. Can combo with Sign for extra gas.
Sign In Blood / Underworld Connections: Anti-landscrew + CA.

This deck is really fast and annoying. I'm having to main/side 4x Ratchet Bombs otherwise get blown out. Got any tech against that?

    Dude, Gangles, where's your CA?

How are you beating people with that single draw per turn, man?

  • posted a message on [Discussion] The Germans are preparing a Secret BW .dec
Good evening and welcome to my thread.

First and foremost, this thread is for the serious discussion of a shall we say mysterious deck which has emerged on MWS as of this recent hour. It is typically piloted by non-English speaking Germans. This is evidenced by the [GER] tag in their name, and/or GR, and or a propensity to spout random words which I cannot understand yet are obviously German in origin:

    <Kreiger[GER]> beginnen
    <Lukifell> dude, u rolled higher
    <Kreiger[GER]> beginnen
<Lukifell> dude..... u play first. ok?
    <Kreiger[GER]> verdammt sie zuerst gehen

Now, they seem to be employing various techniques which undermine the traditional "Caw-Go" approach. By this of course I ultimately mean that they have various methods with which to kill our equipments, our planeswalkers, and so on. As Americans defending our various builds Caw-Go, Caw-Blade and of course Caw-Ping (the latter is an amazing deck BTW), it is our duty to develop a sound strategy to defeat the Germans.

If anyone else has encountered this deck, please post the relevant cards so that we may reverse-engineer their deck and know the enemy.

I apologize to CorpT / Ambassador for my previous outburst and hope that you will not infract me for a serious and mature thread. Thank you for your maturity and impartiality.

Dunno, keep seeing it on MWS. Answered everything I played and dropped Grave Titans and crap. After running into it for the FIFTH time in a row by some random non-English speaking person named "Pablo2213" I screamed out loud. I'm playing Caw-Go, shouldn't I be able to win some games??? No????

And when it wasn't that weird ass BW control list, it was BW allies which also handed me my ass although that was bad luck because allies suck.

CorpT / Ambassador please don't ban me for that comment I'm a bit drunk ATM and this is a serious thread -- I'm serious.

It doesn't seem serious to me. Locked.

Tried it before. Long time ago, before Eldrazi. It was pretty good back then. But now you can't really out-attrition Eldrazi / Valakut. Guess nobody plays Eldrazi anymore but Valakut, yes

All right, I concede, my point is ridiculous and even if it wasn't, this thread won't change the fact that, as I understand it, those new to the game will continue to point out the benefits of Jace, The Mind Sculptor. I didn't consider that.

And yes, my name is an ode to Ninja Gaiden 1 for NES, a truly legendary game :p

Teck was an obvious misspelling in an attempt to be cool and/or hip. Obviously this attempt has failed.

Nevertheless, I've played many a deck, aggro I mean, since SOM was spoiled, and well, I have to say, that Wall of Omens is a really big pain when you're playing with weenie beats.

I hope that someone can explore this further and perhaps put it into a stable build. I almost even considered splashing blue with Goblins just because I hate Wall of Omens that much. Almost. I didn't actually consider it, no way, only like, 95% of the way.

I'm pounding on my war drums and calling for a higher level of play.

Too much in these forums I see something resembling the following. I consider the following posts offensive to myself and all other MTGS forum browsers.

    Offense 1: The All-Too-Obvious Mini-Synopsis:
"Let me explain the card Choices in my deck: Lightning Bolt. This is quite simply the most efficient spell in the format. 3 damage for 1 mana is disgusting."

Offense 2: The Completely Useless Advice Post:
"Plated Geopede is insane with all of those fetches you are running. If you play the fetch, it becomes 3/3. Now, watch this, I'll let you in on a little something here. If you play the fetch, and then tap it, and sacrifice it.... it becomes... a 5/5."

Offense 3: Over-Use of "Package" and "Suite" and "In A Pinch":
"Well, in a pinch, you can simply use the Spreading Seas package. This also gives you an increased chance to draw into your Trinket Mage so that you can activate your Brittle Effigy suite."

Last one isn't so bad, but it's tiring listening to these terms when they alone compose like, 20% of all searchable text within the forum.

I hope I don't get infracted for this, just expressing my opinion. If I do, well if I get infracted from the other post about the guy who went 1-6 with Valakut Ramp, well, that's only two infractions so I should be okay.

    Thanks for reading!

PS Don't infract me, I tried to think of something helpful to say but couldn't. If you infract me I will sue MTG Salvation for discrimination against stupid people.

I was thinking along those lines

Is a UW Aggro deck out of the question?

What about Cosi's Trickster? Everyone and their dog shuffles nowadays. In a way he's like Mini-Arbiter.

One of the more annoying plays aggro has to deal with is Wall of Omens and/or Overgrown Battlements. Image kills both for 1 mana and no loss of CA. It also kills Birds. Could it be sideboardable tech in some kind of Fish deck?

Equipment in Standard is just bad. Short of Argentum armor through Quest or WW dudes, which is not as bad but janky. As an aggro deck, you cannot afford to spend at least two mana, and maybe, maybe do some extra damage. And if you don't? A complete Time Walk.

And people are still talking about Lens? Still?

If Lens made the creature unblockable, no one would be talking about it. But it's worse than unblockability.
