I have to do WHAT to draw three cards??

Eh, no, I think I'll just play Draw from Dreams for the same amount of mana.

Or you know, scry then activate. It's not particularly hard to get three from it. Grin

I could see myself putting a copy in Aminatou.

HOLY FRIGGIN' HECK! Something I never expected to see in standard, a strictly better version of Lotus Vale. I love it, I want four!

It’s not *strictly* better, but it’s damn close.
The original didn’t need Amulet of Vigor for fun.

Still glad I invested more into Scorched Ruins :p

Not being able to be targeted by your opponent makes it better, even if it does enter tapped (which is easy to get around). I will be getting at least one, preferably four, but at least one so I have a copy for my Windgrace deck.

thats alot of abilities for an uncommon plus its in a relevant tribe.

Two actually. Spirts wouldn’t turn this down either.

I think he was talking about spirits

Then Pirates is the second, either way he is still correct about there being two.

The more I look at the card, the more I like it. A good include in any blue deck that needs more card drawing and/or evasion.

Going in my Mayael deck for sure. Now, the question is, what do I have to cut... Decisions, decisions.

Damn, love that Wolflord. Maybe I have to remake a were/wolf tribal deck in Commander again...

I just realized they downgraded Dragon Mage to uncommon. Wat.

    Yarr, there the pirate be.

Now maybe the dinosaur haters will stop complaining. Nah, they'll never stop complaining. Wink

Seriously, nice to see the pirates get a little love with a pirate that is not just a playable uncommon, but a really good one at that. I like it.

Most likely intended for Commander. That said, in the right deck it could be fun.

Eh, would have been better if it hit all opponents instead of just one. That said, it is still removal on a 4/5 lifelinking body with built in reanimation when it dies.

Sacrifice something with a leave plays ability (or a token) and remove a large threat, then when it dies, reanimate a creature with a come into play ability.

All, in all, a 7 out of 10.

    Remember Quirion Dryad anyone?

Yes. This costs 1 more, and you need to chose one color. Both are good in different decks. This is much better in monocolor, Dryad is better in three+ color decks.

Third version of it... I wonder if this is supposed to be in a post-eldrazi Zendikar or not.
In theory, with the Eldrazi dead or off the plane the Roil should have stopped.

Roil won't stop until the land is healed, plus there's a lot of leftover corruption from the Eldrazi, such as the Vampires. There's what, three dead continents on Zendikar that need to regain life?

As for the card itself. I can see myself building an elemental themed commander deck around it with a decent amount of ramp to hit those eight lands ASAP.

So...following up Mizzix with this seems good.

    Or Ojutaigam after an attack.

It's pretty much a great card with any copy shenanigans.

I'd argue it is a better Erratic Portal, it was mostly used on your own creatures anyway due to the "can be stopped if they pay 1 mana" clause of Erratic Portal.

It think it's worse because you can only use it on your turn. Erratic Portal might cost one more but it is the same thing except you can use it on any turn plus it can be used to snipe something of your opponents if they're forced to tap out. Maybe having it be on every turn would have busted limited or something. Still think I like this set over all though.

If your opponent taps out when you have erratic portal out, they're bad MTG players. Erratic Portal was primarily used to bounce your own stuff when it was legal in standard/extended.
