If it doesn't end up getting banned, I'll be all about it. It's a fantastic political tool and milling for 13 is no joke. I'm not optimistic that we'll get to play with this card for very long though.
I think it's toughness is the important thing to remember about Rabblemaster. On an open board it has a greater damage potential, but if you're opponent has nothing in play and no response to an attack on turn four you're probably winning that game anyway. The extra point of toughness on Garrison really makes a difference in what is likely a more average board state, that is your opponent having played a two power two or three drop on curve, and going wider in one attack means more damage gets through if your opponent only has one blocker.
I won't be running the land, nor including it as a bonus for drafting Garrison. Meld looks like it wasn't factored into how much any given meld card should cost, which is a smart move by Wotc. Needing two cards to achieve one big thing is difficult, so I'm glad they just made the individual cards good and let meld be icing on the cake.
This is almost strictly better than Rabble in my book. I'll test and probably keep.
I'm of the same opinion. Ignoring that one damage that Rabblemaster makes the turn he comes out, you're getting the same amount of damage spread across more bodies the turn it can actually attack, plus it has higher toughness. This card looks sweet.
I didn't go out of my way to support colorless mana in my 450 cube, so this seems like an easy include over New Kozilek. Better evasion, more reliable protection, and not needing colorless mana to hardcast pretty much seals it for me, and that's ignoring the cast trigger.
Nahiri seems to be catching on across Standard, Modern and even Legacy, so I should do my due diligence and ask if anyone has experimented with her since release. She wasn't powerful enough at first glance to break into my 450 powered cube, but given how she's been testing in constructed formats I'm willing to keep an open mind about her if anyone has anything new to say.
I recently purchased a revised Birds of Paradise with a slight inking error - the green color of the background doesn't extend all the way to the white border on the right side, leaving some brown showing. Is this anything or just a common issue with revised Birds?
There's similar upward momentum in the Collector's Edition and International Edition copies of Black Lotus too. Less than a couple years ago they were available for $200ish, and now they're difficult to find under $350. It speaks to the allure of this particular card that even the non-tournament legal versions are sought after.
The Gitrog Monster seems like it was tailor made for this deck. Talk about an amazing card.
I was looking through older cards and found Desolation and Contamination. Both of those seem like great ways to further the Stax theme while also growing your creatures.
Even if my curve stops at three, it's free damage every turn if they bin it, and an extra card drawn if they don't. Add to that the fact that it's stapled on an evasive three power splashable three drop and...man, this card seems really good.
What are some thoughts about replacing Exalted Angel with Avacyn? Obviously Exalted is an amazing turn 4 beater, who isn't bad as a topdeck late game either. Avacyn is a fantastic combat trick / team-saver who can hit really, really hard.
Man this is rough. She feels like one heck of an aggro curve-topper, but all I find myself wanting to cut are control elements, which seems unwise. I need to proxy her up and see how she plays.

Perhaps, but this is the Cube forum so we're more interested in it's potential in that environment.
