wait. how is it better? it would enter tapped, and the land it would bring in would tapped. Maybe there's a niche that I'm ignoring, but it is 2 turns slower than the onslaught/zendikar fetches.
I remember not too long back, someone got 2nd at a tournament with a list that had 3 lotus cobra and 3 domri rade. The reason he ran 3 lotus cobra is so he could pull off the turn 3 combo. Now, not many people run a pod list capable of that but it is a turn 3 combo.
T1 Land, mana dork
T2 Land, Burning-Tree emissary/lotus cobra (if lotus cobra, drop the land after the cobra), birthing pod
T3 Land, sac emissary to pod for deceiver exarch untap pod, sac mana dork to pod for phantasmal image, copy exarch, untap pod, sac image exarch to pod for resto angel, blink exarch, untap pod, sac angel to pod for kiki-jiki, combo out for the win.
Village Bell ringers doesn't help at all on the ghostly prison front, the first thing you do before receiving priority in the declare attackers step is declare attackers, at which point you have to pay for ghostly prison.
I was saying that village bell-ringer/kiki/sparkmage gets around ghostly prison by killing the opponent outside of combat.
I'm looking to construct this deck and was wondering if the inclusion of village bell ringer was still a thing? I understand that he doesn't interact with pod, but with something like cunning sparkmage, he can be key in pulling out a win past soul sisters and any deck running ghostly prison.
I believe you would put a legendary lazav, dimir mastermind token into play which would be 7/7 and have giant adephage's abilities as well as lazav's ability. then both of those would go to the graveyard as a state based action. I could be wrong though.
Please, don't guess. If you aren't sure of your answer, why should anyone else trust it? ~ Hendrik
No.
if someone [REDACTED] up like that, I keep my mouth shut and do as I please (unless it's a casual game).
If you don't have your deck on lockdown and are just assuming people can read your mind in a competitive environment, you deserve to get some flack.
Another fun thing: It's not my job to keep track of your life total for you. And when I do, don't constantly question it; just buy a 25 cent die you cheapskate.
I say this mostly because I'm tired of being the 'nice guy' and giving people a second chance for small things than end up directly costing me the game. No one ever does this crap for me, so screw it.
I'm pretty sure you have to say something unless the ability says "You may..." if it says "when this permanent comes into play, do X" it is the responsibility of both players to make sure that that ability happens.
yeah, I don't think this should be in the B/W tokens thread seeing as the RRR would place this squarely in a boros tokens deck splashing black for the flashback on lingering souls.

The way I see it is that it affects the board as soon as it comes into play which is something Hero does not do (so long as you already have tokens out).
It also helps out defensively to keep tokens from dying to bsz, elesh norn, and slagstorm(assuming you have an HotP out). In championless builds, I can see this card being a good replacement for Hero or possibly Sorin.
^ Seems like you'll definately get an anthem out, with there being 20 anthems (Counting phantasmal image).
I was going to say something about the inability of that list to deal with threats, but with phantasmal image in there, you can take care of thrun/gost/thalia. I'd love to hear how it works for you.
May be a little bit TOO heavy on non-creature anthems though.
